In one form, the password is pretty well hidden, I think.

But what you're looking for may be elsewhere, already decrypted, which is damn sloppy, you ask me--but then *I'm* not handling their security.

The last sentence is identical to what Ty sent me. The question is it on the web or in the book?

I did find 9 people with advance copies of the book on librarything. Three with email addresses, hopefully, one of them can see if there is a password and get back to me.

Hey, I've been following along and now finally have decided to post.

I think your assumption that the password is the chapter titles is 100% correct and we should pursue that avenue. I've emailed the author because his website suggested I do so.

Some interesting things I've noticed, which probably aren't helpful or related, but are still part of the game are that:

The chatbots for Brother Apex and Ty both have alot more to say than what has been posted.

If you mention Avery Chase, for example, to both of them, they give interesting responses. Ty asks what do you know about Avery while the Monk informs you that he's a wanted criminal and should be reported to the authorities.

Ty also has thoughts on the book, the Church and Dennis Squalor.

I seriously doubt that this ARG would be solved by buying the book, because most ARG's are to be solved BEFORE you buy the book, much like the very in depth (though not as difficult) Da Vinci Code ARG. So the solutions are out there, waiting to be found.

Also, did anyone else notice the many different working links from the article on the news section? http://allafrica.com/stories/200707170661.html

I tried setting it as my home page, because of the link at the bottom, thinking it would actually link me eslewhere (ala Ty's go home clue), but alas, nothing. I assume now that his "go home" clue is merely randomely generated and is only referencing the binary that appears in the home area. Of course, that negates the next step, which is "Ask Ty", so maybe I'm just dumb.

Hi Adam! Welcome!

I've noticed those comments about Avery, the church, and the book. I don't know why I didn't mention it. I guess I wasn't sure if it was important or not.

I'm going to check out that website.

Interestingly enough, I stumbled upon a site by the Barnaby group from the AllAfrica page. It deals with helping Church members overcome oppression by Church leaders. I thought that was very "interesting" concering recent ongoings. You could order a free book from them entitled Broken Hearts: Shattered Trust by Dr. John Stetser.

I ordered it and, now, I believe it has nothing to do with the Electric Church at all! Oy ve!

Welcome to the hunt Adam!

Yea I noticed the response by Ty and Brother Ajax to inquiries about Avery Cates and Dennis Squalor but they don't really say anything of any sort of importance that I can gather. I agree with you that they most likely have more to say but I don't think we have enough info to ask the right questions right now. As for the password, I've scoured the site from to bottom and I can't find anything that could be the password. Anybody having anymore luck than I am?

I think Ty will tell us if we use the right phrasing.

i wouldn't talk to them...
if you know what to ask
and you can't get through
email me.
tykiethSPLATgmail.com

So somehow we have to figure out how to "ask" him.

Yes several of us have e-mailed Ty already, he's given us a few vague and less than helpful hints about the password so far and that's about it. So far, from Ty, we know that the password is encrypted but it's also apparently in plain sight and we may have seen it before already. And in I think two e-mails to others he specifically mentioned the word home in phrases such as "go home and think about it" and "home is where the heart is"

I personally believe all of those are randomely generated responses to get you to discover the very FIRST password. There is likely some "key word" that needs to be sent. Maybe it's also found in the key.jpg?

Well I can tell you myself that at least some of the responses from Ty have been personal and live as he specifically noted suspicion that he was receiving e-mails from a person with the same last name as me. This happens to be my little brother, Shiningfist, and he knew that since gmail attaches your name to the message. And we've looked head to toe on the key.jpg image as well and so far the only clue we have is that the password should be in the sections of binary under each chapter title.

Hmm interesting. I sent Ty another email for my own purposes telling him that he should join the Church and that the only true salvation is through immortality. Hang on, I'll send you my transcripts...

Quote:
What are you against the Church for? They are merely trying to help the mortal population. The Church isn't a lie, it is Absolute Truth. You merely need give in to the teachings of the Electric Church and the Mulquer Codex, and you too shall recieve salvation. The answers are out there, ready to be found, but only those who truly believe.

He responded...

Quote:
First of all, a glance at your headers shows you're not sending this
from a Church IP, so you're no Monk.

The Church is murder, friend. No doubt about it. I don't know who put
you up to this or what you might be getting paid--but it ain't worth it.
It all ends with your brain in a Monk chassis

He was on to my ruse, which does indeed indicate a "real person", although I didn't pose as Monk, per say, and refereed to them in the third.

My reply.

Quote:
I have decoded the "binary" you left us, but I simply can't figure out the password that goes along with the username tkieth.

I apologize for my previous email. It was merely a test. You never know when "they" might be watching you. Nothing is safe anymore.

I was hoping this would get a rise out of him, but no answer as of yet.

Well personally, I'll be checking in from time to time, but until we have all the chapter titles, I don't really think there's anything more we can do until the book's release or at least until we discover the chapter titles which is GAY

Yea unfortunately Vman it seems to me that that's what we're going to have to do. I agree wholeheartedly Angelus, you'd think the jerk could give us some better hints.
