this may be going back to old news, but at http://the-electric.churc.com/index.swf you get a slightly different version of the site, including a much clearer video of the flash video under Citzenship issues (before, i made my res high and it was still blurry, but here it's crystal clear)

at the bottom of the screen where it says THE CHURCH IS A LIE, the words do funny things (it does it on both videos, but easier to see under the .swf link), and it looks like there is an email address that quickly appears, one letter at a time, in lower case. I have no idea what it says.

Is there a way to slow down flash videos so that I could make this out? I bet it's nothing, heck if it is an email addy, it's probably just tykeithSPLATgmail.com, but if it isn't, this could be a break through (the _root. reference).

Hmm, upon further inspection, the words change periodically, so it's probably nothing. I stumbled upon this while searching for a site tree for the-electric-church.com

Well, if the first password was "in the end" , that is the title of the first post on the Electric Monastery blog. I'm not sure how you would know to use it as a password, but probably the monks would... 'in the end pride is all negative space" could be a message to them as to what the password is. Funny thing, if I were reading that, I would probably try "pride" and not "in the end."

"In the end pride is all negative space" has nothing to do with the blog post that follows.

I know that, after some digging, Ty told you that it was decoded and out on the web. So, technically, you really didn't need the actual binary from the chapter titles to solve it.

That was very obscure though and, I think, that it goes well with the game plot of Ty needing to hide information.

On this site http://www.paulschou.com/tools/xlate/ I was playing with the numbers from the verification code. So, in DEC/CHAR 1 000 000 = @. There is possibility of an e-mail. 126126526 = %.

Ah thanks. I want to look at this again later. I do better looking at games from a narrative style. This game is definitely giving me a sense of who the characters in the book will be, how terrible, if somewhat unbelievable, the Electric Church is and how unrelenting of their victims.

So where we are now, do the clues "home is where the heart is" mean anything for this puzzle?

This is from the Flash video. When U make a flash movie, U can collect all the letters one over the other and after that U give timing to open it. In the label, I don't see anything unusual.

They letters and images are shown are not the same that are in the "THE CHURCH IS A LIE", there are various letters and a few symbols like @ and C: . It's a common way to implement a secret message in a flash video, although I do think in this instance it's irrelevent. I'm really not sure what we're trying to do right now at this point, anyway.

Also, ty keith and ty kieth are two different people.

couple things to think about.

Today is the date of the press release, 09/22/07.

According to Ty's email, we might have to wait a day, or three or six. Six days would be 09/24/07, the day before the release date for the book. So I think it might be a good time to look for more clues over the next few days and perhaps blog ads.

If the password won't be active until Monday, I will wait until then to try hacking in again.

I found a script to make a barcode with a stream cipher but when I emailed it to myself at the end of work Friday I guess it didn't take:( I will have to wait until Monday evening to see if it will help us or not. I'm hoping that by studying it I might be able to work backwards and get a clue as to what they may have done. I can't find it now regardless of what search words I use. *sigh*
