One thing to keep in mind; the monster has to have an opposable thumb. The SOL head was not batted off, it was ripped off and thrown. just take a look at the points on the crown in the trailer. completely bent down, as if it was gripped. i doubt a turtle claw could do that.

It could have been slashed/swatted/clubbed/ or w/e off and still end up with bent crown-spikes...

The thing took a nice little trip, not to the moon, but to the 401 building and then took a nice stROLL down the street. Plenty of opportunities to bend or mangle the head there.

it's taken me until NOW to notice that the SOL has four claw marks on it. I never noticed the one that is on her back and perpendicular to the water. XD

But SWEET find. Even if it leads us nowhere, it's pretty interesting.

My input...I took the image, mirrored it, upped the contrast, lowered the brightness, and was startled at how well defined the "face" becomes.

My support for the turtle theory:
- Two turtle like images in one poster? Kinda unlikely. But again, this could be "seeing what you want to see".
- Turtles nest on the shore. This fits some other theories.
- I don't know of a turtle that makes a noise...but it's entirely possible that the "bloop" could be adapted to be a mating call of a giant ass turtle.
- The slash marks on the SoL always looked off to me. Just try and envision taking your hand and grabbing the head of it, pulling up, and making those kind of marks. It just doesn't seem to mesh in my head. But a turtle fin slapping it does seem to make more sense to me. Again, matter of opinion and perception.

My refutes for it being a turtle:
- the odds of something being hidden in this image are pretty slim. And what with the whole "ink blot" idea, it could be entirely a coincidence.
- A turtle isn't likely to attack the SoL. Snapping turtle's can be aggressive, but a giant sea turtle (mutated or not) is not likely to go around fighting giant statues.
- Short of breathing fire, I don't see how a turtle could cause the giant explosions in the trailer. Although, to be honest, I haven't been able to think of any monster aside from a dragon or Godzilla that could.

this is my first post at uF, been lurking since July 5th. Anyways, the mirrored poster is my wallpaper now because it is so cool. I like the turtle theory, but also i noticed that, right in the middle where the poster mirrors, look to the left or right and in the smoke i believe the moster could be there. Of course, the helicopters are way over to the left, so that kind off shoots my theory down. Just an idea.

Though, if it is really a turtle, then we better hope that a time-traveling group of teenagers with mild training in various weaponry come to the rescue. Or all hope is lost.
