haha allright!, well, on this subject i think this movie would be really hard to name, i mean, abrams wouldnt want to name the movie after the monster would he? that might be a bit weak. and overnight is lame as well, im willing to place a wager that the movie will be named "1-18-08" take for example thrice's new album. for months theyve been posting a blog reporting how theyve been coming along with the recording process, as well as many different ideas of what the cd might be called, now the blogs address was....alchemyindex.com and now what did they name the album? you guessed it.........the alchemy index! it was right under our noses the whole time! who knows though, going along with his speech at sdcc 1-18-08 would not be a good name for an "intense" monster movie. whatever the name turns out to be its gonna have to be good.

Well, you might be right, but that would make it quite a coincidence that it's also the scheduled US release date for the movie...

At Comicon, JJ said we'd get a lot more stuff later, including a title. I don't think they'll stick with just the date, though I have gotten used to typing it.

If his motivation came from a toy store, then I'm pretty sure he's thinking franchise and merchandising. Not just for money, but for the fun of having all those things. The creature and film will all have a name, and most of us will probably have some sort of toy/figure/icon of it somewhere in our house/on our desk/ etc.

One reason why it wont be 1-18-08 - the UK trailer at the end said "2008" not "1-18-08" so basically we dont get it then, so they'd have to change the date really i guess.

Overnight - sucks ass

Why not name it after the monster? (Unless the monster is smokey lol)
EVERYBODY has heard of Godzilla - and that was the main inspiration for him to produce the film

and the people on that site are supporting a biblical apocolypse movie. So a title like "Revelations" or "The Return" or "Judgement" or something else corny like that would be my best guess
