 [SPEC] Everything has a meaning...
spec.

Hey there this is my 1st topic spec so here it goes; the working title of the JJ Abrams film is called "cloverfield" right some people think it's some retarded name that was codenamed.
Well I was thinking for awhile and maybe the title has do to with a clue.

Also I was thinking that maybe the number six has to do with anything like the word,"clover" has six letters like hammer, cheese and mitten.

What about chocolate? Or does J.J. just have a sweet-tooth?

there are no clues. the ONLY clue that was ever really found was the slusho shirt on the guy in the trailer that brought us to slusho.jp where wow, there were no more clues. this is not as deep as we want it to be, its just intersting. i really hope you're not the same person i told this to over at 1-18-08news.

I can't agree with nononeimportant77. Please know that I say this with the up most respect, but it sounds like you are saying that all possible clues have been found with the information we have. I think we aren't looking at all the angles. There is a impressive number of what seem like clues (the license plate, the picture in the clouds, j.j. Abrams saying that the roar is our biggest clue, the letters on the paddle in the apartment, the notes on the back of the pictures, its goes on and on) that we just haven't figured out.

They are just too significant to simply dismiss. This reminds me of that quote from like 30 years ago saying that "there will never be a need for computers in a persons home".

Once again noneimp.... I see what you have contributed to this board and I respect yout opinions, but I can't agree with you on this.

ok well, first thank you for the respect and not giving me a rude answer even though i can be rather rude quite often.

but

you say "all possible clues" because, they havent been proven as clues, and they havent proven anything.

yes they've been found with information we have, how else would we have found them?

"an impressive number of what seems like clues" - because they're not. at this point everything seems like a clue because almost everyone is grabbing at whatever they can hoping its a cule hoping they'll find whatever it is they're looking for-which i'll come back to in a second

the lisense plate-is a licence plate
picutre in clouds-you, me, my mother, the person in the house next to you, my dog all can see things in clouds every day.
J.J. Abrams saying the roar is our biggest clue- pretty sure that means its our biggest clue to there being a monster. without the roar in the trailer, honestly i would have thought it was a terrorist movie, and i did for a little while.
the letters on the paddle- so he was a member of a frat house
the notes on the pictures- look really cool.
i dont see how those are too signifiagant to dismiss as possible clues for a possible ARG which i'm pretty sure we can all agree is not an ARG, so what are the clues going to lead us to?

what are we/you/whoever going to find when we unlock the combo on the slusho page? what do you expect to find by re scrambling letters on notes on picutes? a copy of the script? the name of the monster? a picture of the monster? the name of the movie? what is there to find?

hmm long post. sorry if i offend anyone, and their opinions, but that is my opinion so i guess i have as much of a right to defend it as the guy who says the monster is after slusho does.

In the begining i thought that this was gonna be a very cool ARG. Well...it doesn't really seem like it. I was very excited then and now i am very very very bored with it. I still check in from time to time and do searches and whatever......but seriously though nooneimp. is on the REALISTIC track. What i mean is.....this has to be looked at as really good marketing on JJ's part. Who knows, it could turn out to be an ARG or it could turn out to be JJ just messing with us and having fun. Whatever happens though keep an open mind but don't let yourself think that everything HAS to do with another clue or IS another clue......you'll go freaking crazy.

on a side note though...i agree with nooneimp.

Haha, you forgot the myspace.

That's true: there are still the myspace pages. However, interaction w/the myspace characters seems to have tapered off a bit in the last few weeks. And, so far, nobody has discovered anything interesting (not even any solid 'leads') from messaging the "Slusho Seven" on myspace. Jamie put up that new blog recently, so the myspace stuff is still 'active,' but nobody found anything of interest from it. The myspace stuff could be nothing more than marketing.

Due to the hand-held, hyper-realistic approach of the movie, there could be a backstory-related ARG at some point (since they wouldn't be able to include any of that in a gritty, 1st-person-experience style of movie), but I'd be surprised if such an ARG preceded the release of the movie, i.e., you'd have marketing and an ARE before the movie comes out and a bona-fide ARG would start once the movie is released. So, at this point, we just have to wait.

Meanwhile, if we're still thinking it's an ARG, I think the focus should be on interacting with the myspace characters. Two reasons for this: (1) the obvious reason - it's actual interaction w/the (putative) PM's, and it seems to be the only thing 'happening' right now; and, (2) if this is an ARG, then we'll only have a few months to get anything from the "Slusho Seven" via myspace, since they'll probably all be "dead", or at least unavailable for myspace messaging, after January.

But, yeah... all in all, if I had to bet, I'd say this is just marketing and there's no ARG. Still, though, anything could happen between now and Jan. 18.

One idea I'm too lazy to follow-up on: perhaps we could 'map' the timing of each release of info. so far - maybe there's a pattern. Then, we'd know when to expect the next 'clue.'
