So it looks like they are backing away from the "I hacked his email" response. The CM did tell me he told TDC he has all the cards, so I guess it is possible the character lied to me hoping I would confess.

Quote:

Nicole,

I apologize for attacking you earlier. I hope you can forgive me. Sam found out about my cards, so I was a little upset, and I have a bit of a drinking problem, but I was wrong to blame you. I assumed it was you, but I may very well be wrong. All I know is that you were the only one skilled and dedicated enough to solve all of my cards, so for that I say, "thank you." When the time comes for action, I know who to turn to first.

And now, as promised, I'll tell you a little about myself:

Sam Deercot does not know who I am. If he did, he would kill me. He's afraid of me because he thinks I know something about him (although he'd never admit that to you) and he's right. I've spent the past several months trying to cover my trail, and I believe I'm safe for now, but I'm not positive so I keep moving. I live out of hotels and suitcases. My job lets me travel but my past is always waiting for me. I have a drinking problem and I'm on antidepressants. I find the mix of the two creates a wonderful high, although I'm firmly against drugs. I don't have a family, although I wish I did, and I almost did once but sadly it didn't work out. I'm good with my hands and I know most technology backwards and forwards. I've been in love, and I've slept with a hooker or two...but I've never been in love with a hooker. I've been to Vegas more times than I can count, and have won and lost many paychecks there - I've partied in penthouse suites and cried in toliet stalls. I used to be religious, but I'm not sure if I am anymore. Often I feel like I'm lost in this world, like I'm standing between good and evil and I don't know which is which, so instead of moving forward I just sit at the airport bar and drink until everything's blurry.

You ever feel like that Nicole?

Tom

TDC

As for his clue, so far my best guess is the anagram is "Named by professor at." The Stegosaurus was named by Professor Othniel Charles Marsh, but I can't figure out how this relates to the other anagram. I can't find any words within it to make sense.

Burning TDC's bridge is a bad idea. We all know how long things take to develop in this game, and I say give it time to do just that before we go ruining what could be a big part of the game.

It looks like Pete is a dead-end:

A response from the CM when I asked about Pete & TDC:
Quote:
Pete is almost definitely not TDC. No way.

So, I do think that route is wrong.

My computer was giving me trouble at the time, & I wasn't able to watch the video until a couple of nights ago. I agree that TDC seems to be giving the impression that he is a Men In Black (MIB) type of guy, or ex-Secret Service or something.

Oh what a tangled web we weave...sheesh... This is getting more & more convoluted. I am short on time right now & am bummed that I wasn't able to jump into the card hunt right away. Sad

Re: Professor Othniel Marsh - he was the chair of paleontology at Yale , and it looks like the steg bones that brought about the name came from Colorado. Maybe 1 of these goes along with "Named by professor at"...Yale? I have to look back at the clue now...

Regarding the "dopp" clue, a dopp is a type of kit used for men's toiletries.

well I sure did pick a BAD time to take a break.. anyways I just read the past 9 pages and I have to give you props nicole, youve torn apart almost everything TDC is throwing out at us..

as for this whole hacker/drunken sexual encounters with hookers in airport bathroom deal.. is it not true that TDC added a code to the CM's video so that we could find him? So much has happened that I may have missed the debunking of that but as far as I know that is what happened...so it couldnt be too unheard of that he would know some things that the CM would also know? Granted its a stretch that he would have access to CMs computer for such an extended period of time.. but still..

my eyes are crossing from all the reading I did tonight.. ill try to catch up tomorrow night cuz im sure there will be another 9 pages of solves from nicole..lol

BTW Wabo - I agree that OOG TDC = Eric.. I was skeptical until I saw the overview of the hair for some reason.. i think theres a pic of eric somewhere that made a light go off for me.. and Erics hair may be curly but the hair in the video was wet from the shower so it could appear straight.. and it looked gelled anyways.. rambling. bedtime..gnite

New email from Tom.

And here's another clue for you - when you figure out all the words, you get a place.

Just did. There is a thing known as a dopp kit, which is a small bag for men's grooming products. Can I assume then that you are speaking of the word "kit?"

Is he going to make our dashing hostage drink nasty pond water again, this time with a kit?

I also noticed the 'dopp kit' clue, & have been working with that for the label under the stegosaurus...have come up with a lot of crazy stuff. Nothing that seems to pop out as making too much sense yet. But the word 'code' can be in there, too, with 'kit'...and 'Toms'...

At least we are being told when we are 'right' now. Enough of a bunch of cryptic ambiguity, running around in circles forever & ever...

EDIT: Ohhhh...a plaace...that helps. At least I know a little bit more what to be looking for! Thx!

EDIT 2: OT...here's a good question about OOG, IG crossing-the-line stuff. A lot gets posted here that is info I suppose the rest of us shouldn't have either, but really nothing is getting posting anywhere else. For example, if I wanted to mention to CM in an e-mail that my message to him is likely breached, how would I know that? Hell, how do we know hardly anything? Razz Are we all just getting collective info now through osmosis as it happens to each of us?

It is a little ambiguous as to what we share when. For eg., Nicole was asked by someone if she gave TDC all the cards yet b/c it was her call, but then youthpastor said he did it (b/c he was working on it, too, I guess?). And, now of course, we all know where they are (thanks to the posts here), and are free to say so, right? But, are all of us free to say the other things we know like the fact that TDC has access to CM's e-mail? (& other things we wouldn't know unless shared in chat, e-mailed to us, or posted on another forum?) Confused

Interesting possibility for part of the label under the steg?

"This dungeon chamber was used for the incarceration of offenders until recent years, and is still known as the Kitcote or Kittycote."

The Unforums is OOG to the PMs only. We can use this or any other forum to gather or deciminate information and then use the gathered info wherever we choose. The information is usable IG, however, most players give deference to the players that have done the most work on a puzzle/subject. You can do whatever you want with gathered info........ just realize that it may have consequences IG with characters and OOG with players. Thats why many players hash things out here before going on to communicate with IG characters and to avoid inadvertatantly stepping on other players toes. This game definatly has harsh consecuences for some of the characters we interact with based on some of the choices we can make.
