You are on the entirely wrong site then.

Check the "News and Rumors" section. A bunch pop up pretty frequently, and are pretty fun to catch up on and follow 'till/ if this one ramps up.

Aye, i wish either this one would pick up, or maybe Year Zero would start again.

im officially announcing the death of this arg-that-wasnt-an-arg. if this ever was an arg, it the PMs gave up on it months ago. and even if it is an arg, people have clearly shown us that they are much more interested in BLOOP sounds than following the only thing that had any hope of being a clue (jamies latest blog) that we have recieved in weeks. so final summation, stick a fork in it, this sucks.

edit to add [META] tag ~rose

I must be flogging a dead horse then, I've been following the Bloops and I think I've got a solid idea on the monster. But I'm sure what I've said has already been said, small whales being a metaphor for the creature that was larger than a Blue Whale which had to make that sound, the sound being recorded near where Lovecraft stated that R'lyeh was located, the location of the clip being at www.youcantdrinkjustsix.com, etc. etc. etc. I'm about to give up myself though, I've been pursuing other leads but come up empty.

 RE:
yup its dead

Yeah, This thread sums up this "arg" quite a bit. I think the only interaction thats been going on is a few casual myspace messages and the autoreply from slusho.jp

hmmm...

This could be something great but if the production team behind the schematics don't do something quick (like in a couple of weeks even) then many a people will loose interests as the few already have. I came here to unfiction b/c of this untitled movie and yet I am just more confused about it than what my general interest was in the beginning.

If ya look at when my previous post was, you'll get a feel for if I think this is an ARG or not.

 Not to be obvious..

...Why can't we talk about both? Cloverfield just might both a movie AND a ARG - we might not have found everything, or they might not have released the newest part yet. Let's just keep our tentacles crossed for good luck, hmmm..? Wink ...

I'm not quite ready to dismiss this as an ARG. Why? We have the whole entire Slusho site and not one clue has been gleaned from it; it appears to be full of unsovled or not-yet-ready clues. That's a lot of programming and work for a product that, from what we know so far, is very marginally related to this movie. I'm not buying that all the weird things on there are because it's supposed to be Japanese; they could have made it look authentic with a lot less work.

When someone gives me a good explanation for "Slusho Zoom!", the oven mitt/cheese/hammer trifecta, the nonsense on the history page, the odd arrangement of full Slusho cups on the bottom, who "Sarah Nettleute" is and why her myspace page is missing, the glowing donut on the guy's back in the trailer (IMO photoshopped in), the cuckoo noise, the demon gargoyle in the girls' hair, SlushoBots, Albert Pike, Henry Kelvin, Augie, what JJ was trying to tell us by wearing the Infocom shirt to Comic-Con and who Teddy Hanssen is and I'll pack up and call it a day. If all of this (and about 200 other oddities I haven't mentioned) is just the producers messing with us - which clearly cost some money to create and that for a film whose budget isn't that enormous to begin with - then they are dumb. And from what I've seen these guys do in the past, they are NOT dumb.

I think there is a strong possibility that something needs to be solved before this game can progress and they are waiting for us to solve it. There are so many loose ends out there, I can't believe that at least one of them will turn up something relevant.

If this isn't progressing because we've missed something, which I personally don't think is the case, the game design needs work.

Actually, I thought the Slusho site was a pre-existing Abrams site that was drafted into service here.

edit: I think I'm wrong about the Slusho site. It was created around the time of the trailer being released.

In any case, other than being done with my Cthulhu theory (but none done with the bloop dammnit), I think its time these gentlemen threw us a freakin' bone here. I'm ready to call a momentary retreat and admit they got us if they'll give us one more damn clue. We only have a little under five monthes to figure this out.

If you're looking for clues that do not exist, you're bound to find something in everything.

That's how conspiracy theorists go crazy and start wearing tin foil hats. They turn their thoughts and ideas into an obsession.

Think about it: you can create theory about anything and start seeing "clues" to its whereabouts by walking ten feet from your front door.

My suggestion is for everyone to calm down a bit and take a step away from the computer. There isn't an ARG, and the "clues" and "hints" are figments of your overactive imaginations.

a true arg

if it were a real arg it we would have a s***load of progress by now plus how long does an arg last really? so if it is one it would start more around the future release of the movie

Then stop looking. If it evolves into a game, or even just an experience (much more likely), It'll ramp up. There's still a good amount of time until the release, and JJ did say there was more to come. It's on... hiatus for now.

Just look casually for updates and go about your normal life.

There is zero reason to freak yourself out obsessively refreshing pages which have't been updated. We'll know if it ramps up again.

That's where I'm at. I'm still lurking and checking the sites now and then, but I'm not going to devote much more time to this until things start to ramp up. It's been fun and all, but mostly because of the other posters here and on other boards, not because of the 1-18-08 phenom itself. There's been a definite point of diminishing returns at work where that's concerned.
