[SPEC] Trailer Location

I did a search on Trailer Location and nothing came up

Is there a way to find out where the trailer was shot. I mean you get a street veiw of it and a probable distance from the buildings being hit. Not only could this be a clue but it will at least tell us where the action takes place and we could see what the street looked like in daytime and things like that. Another thing that we can get from it is how strong the monster is i mean if its close by then he could be weak but if its accross the city then he could be strong indicating how far he threw or batted or swiped the SOL's head.

Nice idea but on the part about the monster's strength in relation to the SOL head distance, I'd have to disagree. I've made this point a bit but I could think of thousands of ways the monster could be as strong as a kitten and get it there. Although one does involve a Harry Potter spell there are still a bunch of other ways. Once again, nice idea though.

Well most people are saying the monster is organic and some saying its robotic and what ever. I honestly dont think this will bring up any clues but It would be amazing if we could just figure out details of the movie...I think this is what they are trying to do...Not make it an ARG but make it a game that lets us figure out or ponder on what the movie could be about. I thought I found a good match but no big buildings are near street 108 lol...It was worth a shot...Im still looking so any help would be nice!

The direction of the SOL's head gives some indication also at about 1:25 on the trailer you have a nice view of the street. I really hope that its real and its not just a set...

A near approximate location has been found, but you wouldn't have found it under 'Trailer Location' as that isn't really specific. They've pretty much been examined to death.

Rob's (assumed) Apartment (It's assumed this is also the roof location): No exact location is known but it is somewhere uptown. You can see downtown Manhattan including the Woolworth Building, Municipal Building and the Chase Manhattan Building amongst those in the explosion.

The street location: Broadway, however the block itself where the statue's head lands and rolls to a stop was a Burbank sound stage set. However, the building with the lit spire and the one the head of the statue hits are both real New York City skyscrapers on Broadway. The lit spire building is the Woolworth Building, the one the head of the Statue of Liberty hits is 401 Broadway.

I've presently listed Rob's apartment as being a location unknown because the roof shot of those skyscrapers is much further away then the street location.

I've tenuiously suggested that the explosion, and possible location for monster when it threw the statue's head is in City Hall Park, a large open space which is bordered on one side by Broadway and the Woolworth Building, and on the other by the New York Municipal Building.

I hope those help.

 Question

Hey, do we know for sure it's Rob's apartment?

EDIT: I just wanted to point out that I see the "assumed", but to clarify, I was wondering if it's been pointed out before specifically. Search was a little convoluted, and the Despoiler didn't say.

Try using Google Street View to see if you recognize the area from the trailer.

hey, not to rain on anyone's fun but what the fuck does this have to do with anything.

really people.

really.

read a book. You could read 10 books before this movie comes out.

that's all it is. a movie.

Dude. The monster is giant. It's strong and might have held the head for a couple miles in order to provide a more dramatic effect.

Have you played the roar backwards yet?
Go obsess over that for a while.

I'm not getting excited over this thing until a new trailer. new pics.
AND AN ACTUAL TITLE. christ.

I put it in because a lot of people have assumed it's Rob's place without there being anything concrete saying it is.

Thank you for contributing NOTHING. I agree that I don't think this is an ARG but keep your complaints to your own topic instead of going in and highjacking others.

Yeah, that's the building the head of the Statue of Liberty hits.

Hey you're welcome!

I'd just like to point out that other than a nice place to visit, this thread holds no value to ANYTHING AT ALL. Again, wasting your time.

That's all.

And I'll highjack what I please.

I'm just answering the guy's question, you may not see any value in that or the topic itself but thankfully you're not in charge of the place.

It may not be an ARG but it doesn't give you, me, the admin or anyone the right, or excuse to suddenly go disrupting things just because it's not going the way we like.

It's just a shame you have to do this because you don't believe it's an ARG... yet continuing to post here despite that belief is the real excercise of pointlessness in this topic.

Dariagan, I'm sorry that this topic's getting thrown off the rails.
