tridecalogism is slang...so yeah your right it is made up in that i dont think oxford or websters have accepted it. The problem was i couldnt find one until I looked at the words in the picture...interknitting is a true tridecalogism from my understanding

hc monty doesn't seem to work either

I tried one of the solvers where you don't know the code, and I asked it to use 13 letters, and a few recognizable words popped up, like I'm and such, however this could have been purely coincidental. Strangely enough, it didn't give me the codeword used, so I don't know. Maybe I need a better solver hehe.

i think i did and i think i tired tridecalogism itself as well...but that was getting upwards of 1 in the morning so someone might wanna doublecheck those. See originally i was thinking that perhaps different sections of the cipher would use one of the five words to decipher them.....none checked out on the first sentence...i didnt try any other section of the cipher

He says to Work in Shifts, which makes me believe that we do have a different code for each section.

He says that H.C. Monty will let you know if you're on the right one, so that makes me think that whichever of those words makes hcmonty in the code mean something, we have the right one.

But I've used all of the words, and none of them make sense, so I don't really know what is up.

Maybe we can figure out what one of the words is and its solution?

being that only intercommunal and interknitting are 13 letters, are we sure we got all the words from the picture right?

So try to figure up the code in groups of 3 sentences at a time?

Interesting to note, if you take off the bit about hcmonty in the code, you get a total of 169 words, which is 13x13. LOL. I'm sure that's just a coincidence, but I think it's funny.

With the strong emphasis on 13, I tried rot13, which predictably didn't work. Then I tried to ROT13 our supposed key words and use that as a new key, but still nothing. Just a head's up in case someone else thinks to try this.

We're assuming that the first words of the cipher text are the first word of the key. What if the key doesn't start with the first letter? Perhaps that's what he meant by shift? As in shift the letters until it makes sense?

instead of interknitting, try nterknittingi, or terknittingin, (it's actually easier to just subtract a letter from the beginning of the ciphertext each time, but this was for illustrative purposes.)

Don't forget guys, we also have the clues truth and checkers from the chats. I know there is a shifted checkerboard cypher, but I think it converts alpha to numeric (maybe), but it does use 2 or 3 passkeys.
