C6H5NHOH

The atomic numbers of C H N H O H are 6 1 7 1 8 1 which reads f a g a h a and when you include the 5 and 6, its ffaegah

So yeah, I thought I might've been on to something, but, unfortunately, I wasn't.

Sorry but you're wrong Niacin is indeed C6H5N02 . CAS # 59-67-6 if you have access to any chemical databases. C6H6O2 could be hydroquinone. C6H6NO2 could be niacinamide; the amide of niacin. You might be confused because both niacin and niacinamide are consider vitamin B3.

I don't know anything about chemistry, I was merely quoting the wikipedia pages I posted!

Isonicotinic acid is an organic compound with a carboxyl group on a pyridine ring. It is an isomer of nicotinic acid — the carboxyl group for isonicotinic acid is on the 4-position instead of the 3-position for nicotinic acid.

You're the physics professor, not me!

Well folks I got some good news here is my recent chat with bob:

Quote:

Bob says:
Bonsoir
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
Hello Mr Bob
Bob says:
How are you on this fine night Angelus?
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
I am well and yourself
Bob says:
Business as usual would be the most truthful thing to say.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
I can imagine.
Bob says:
All is beyond your imagination kid.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
Perhaps but I like to play with it once and a while
Bob says:
As long as it remains in check.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
It doesn't like to dwell in the world of the known but rather the unknown.
Bob says:
That is always the best place for it to roam. I bet my identity pokes at your imagination from time to time.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
It is a curiousity but trust is important and so you have not given me reason to take up that curiousity.
Bob says:
Ah how right you are, but alas it has only begun.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
We have been puzzling over the chemical conundrum to which you have directed us.
Bob says:
Sadly I cannot be much of help right now, if I give you a hint you will have an advantage.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
That is alright I think in time we will work it out.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
Is there anything I can do to help you in your search
Bob says:
My search?
Bob says:
My next in line, you do not know what I am even working on.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
Knowning the whole is not necessary between those who trust.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
*knowing
Bob says:
You make a good point but I believe this matter should be left to myself, no offense to you personally.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
None taken, it's understandable.
Bob says:
I just wanted to check on the progress, I wasn't send any e-mails.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
we seem to be stuck on the chemical name
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
we came up with several
Bob says:
I see.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
I have to admit I am a little curious as to how far along the three st ges are
Bob says:
I am as well.
Bob says:
Sadly, I cannot track their progress that often anymore.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
I've been told to offer one word from the others
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
Phenylhydroxylamine
Bob says:
Sounds like a long word to me.
Bob says:
But......
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
Not the one you want.
Bob says:
Au contraire mon copain
Bob says:
Quite correct.
Bob says:
The next page has now been unlocked.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
Thank you Mr Bob
Bob says:
Of course
Bob says:
According to Bill, he's on caprock.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
on our heels the hounds bay
Bob says:
They bite too.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
Then we're better off to keep moving down the line
Bob says:
Once you halt, they move closer kid.
Bob says:
It will be freezing soon.....
Bob says:
Better get a move on.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
I will do just that, thank you again and I hope to be in contact with you s n again
Bob says:
Of course. I will be here for a little conducting business so if you need me, do not be shy to contact me.
Angelus Ex Mortis says:
I will remember that.
Bob says:
Good.

http://www.geocities.com/foldednight/phenylhydroxylamine

it looks like pigpen

Angelus is decoding it as we type/read/whatever...

Adam C says:
Phenylhydroxylamine is the key, then. What, pray tell, do you know of chemistry? Aside from Au, of course?
Bob says:
Do I know you?
Adam C says:
No, but I most certainly know of you.
Adam C says:
I am an associate of the angel of death and niceties aren't necessary.
Bob says:
Cannot say I do not find that a little concerning.
Bob says:
Ah.
Bob says:
That is all you had to say Adam.
Bob says:
You ask about my chemistry knowledge?
Adam C says:
Ah, well I said it before but you don't accept offline messages it would seem.
Adam C says:
I do.
Adam C says:
Call it a common interest.
Bob says:
I have a good knowledge of chemistry, I cannot tell you how though.
Bob says:
Maybe a story for a rainy day.
Adam C says:
When we find your gold, I'd like to move somewhere where rain is scant, so perhaps your story may never be told.
Adam C says:

Adam C says:
Over a cocktail one day, perhaps.
Adam C says:
Which should hold the only umbrella I'd need.
Adam C says:
But, don't presume I, or anyone, intends to take it.
Adam C says:
Aside from, well, Bill and Curly and Larry.
Adam C says:
the angel of death has grown fond of you, i, however, do not trust you
Adam C says:
I wonder about the motives of a man who has what others want and makes them earn it back.
Bob says:
I hope you do not expect a swift answer.
Adam C says:
The best answers are never so.
Bob says:
A man's motives are his own unless he chooses to reveal them.
Adam C says:
Too true. We are but a step ahead of the others, and our window grows smaller by the moment.
Bob says:
That's what makes it all the more exciting.
Bob says:
Don't you agree?
Adam C says:
For the others, maybe, but I find it hard to get excited when I am unsure of the outcome of my trials. Timid is a better adjective, for me, I think.
Adam C says:
Cautious.
Bob says:
There are no guarantees in life kid.
Adam C says:
Needless to say, you chose your ally wisely in angelus. For that we are all very grateful.
Adam C says:
Not true. Death is always a gauruntee.
Adam C says:
But then, I suppose, that wouldn't be in life, now would it?
Bob says:
Of course not.
Bob says:
Death is going to catch up to all one day.
Adam C says:
We are but mice and men, you good sir, our the cat.
Adam C says:
My key doesn't fit. You toy with us so.
Bob says:
You all are my toys in a twisted sense.
Adam C says:
I will bid you a good night and a reminder to be sure not to underestimate us. Your time is appreciated.
Adam C says:
Eventually, the puppet learns to walk without strings. You may call me Pinnochio.

Bob said:
Oh really?

Did he kill John?
Did he kill Ron?
Censored, censored.

His higher power lives in the woods, a hermit.

His life near ended, a carousel to lift his spirits.

Don't tell anybody anything, don't tell.

Hmmmmm

Ron and John were both presidents who had assassination attempts on them (Reagan and Kennedy), by John Hinkley, Jr. and Lee Harvey Oswolt, respectively.

The biggest link between these two is that both have resounding conspiracy theories and both, conveniently, have theories that are centered around George Herber Walker Bush.

Bush, of the CIA, had recieved in a memo signed by J. Edgar Hoover of the impending Kennedy assassination and also that Lee Harvey Oswald was a close friend of a close friend of Bush's. (Baron George de Mohrenschildt), who killed himself after being investigated on his ties to Oswald.

The Reagan attempted assination conspiracy holds a bit more water in the motive department, in that Bush was his vice president, Hinkley's brother and Bush's son, Niel, were to meet for dinner, the Hinkley family supported the Bush campaign with MILLIONS of dollars and both were oil tycoons from Texas, Bush was conveniently out of town, and the most damning evidence, the unproven reports of a "second CIA gunman" witnessed by a reporter. That's why the Reagan attempt is known as the Bushy Knoll.

So GHWB fits with the first two clues and the bits about not telling anybody anything (CIA). Now, what George Bush has to do with those other two clues is beyond me, but hey, I'm trying!

This is, as originaly thought by Angelus, Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. However, this time, we are looking for the main character, rather than the Author's name and pseudonym.

Born in a new gate, a time long before
With a tale of two brothers,
A bankrupt man fleeing to france.
Incestual lies, about money it has always been.
From crumpets to cotton.
Who am I?

I hope you guys can figure this one out. Codes, I can do. Riddles about fictional characters, not so much.

My first thought was, "What the heck does 'born in a new gate' mean?" I translated the phrase 'new gate' to a bunch of languages, but the only thing that resembled a city name led me to Newport. Unfortunately, that didn't really turn up anything. =]
