Not sure how this might be relevant, other than proving someone's point that random numbers are meant to be funny, but the slogan for that new NBC "action-comedy" Chuck is "saving the world...at $11 an hour". It's Warner Bros. not Paramount so I seriously doubt any use of $11 is intentional, but I guess it could mean that Rob saved the world, therefore someone owes him $11. A stretch, I know.

OK, I don't mean to be the thread police, but this has gotten WAY off the topic of JamieAndTeddy.com. Probably best to movie it over to
[SPEC]Another mystery man from the trailer
or some other thread.

Hey, I deal blackjack 50 hours a week for a living, so I've got a thick skin. But "scraping the bottom of the barrel in desperation" is clearly an insult to my intellect, and was totally uncalled for. I was merely speculating, and admitted it was totally random speculation...but if some guys feel the need to go around *heckling* people's theories instead of actually posting non-judgmental *critiques* of those theories, then go ahead -- knock yourselves out.

And back to the issue of 11 Bucks Guy:

When you make a movie trailer, you have about 30-120 seconds to hook your viewers. So every scene has to count. Every scene is there to convey information; reveal plot; introduce characters; showcase stars; showcase the visuals; create emotion -- laughs, tears, fear, curiosity, anger, whatever.

And guess what? Every scene in the Cloverfield trailer does just that. Every scene in that trailer either advances the plot; introduces the primary characters; generates fear and curiosity. All the other Party scenes introduce the Slusho Seven; establish relationships between some of the characters; foreshadows the attack.

And then, there's this guy who says "You owe me 11 bucks," and "This is gonna be the greatest night ever."

Who? Why?

If he's not important to the plot, why show him at all? All the other primaries got Myspace pages -- why not him? He got his own locker marked "Guy" according to those Slashfilm set pics from NYC, and yet no Myspace?

All the other characters at the party are saying things that establish plot and character: "What is this for?" "We'll miss you, Rob." "How am I gonna survive without you? You're my main dude." "Have fun in Japan."

But: "You owe me 11 bucks".....???? Again: what's that for? If it's to establish character, then obviously the Guy is important. Yet no Myspace, or even a Myspace mention. (Unless he turns out to be Teddy Hanssen.) It DOESN'T establish or advance plot visibly...

11 Bucks Guy is there for a reason. He's a major player that has yet to be introduced; or the 11 bucks will turn out to be significant in some way. Otherwise, his throwaway line in the trailer serves *no purpose whatsoever* -- it does not advance plot, or generate emotion, or showcase visuals or star power, and if he's a minor character, what's the point of even TRYING to establish his personality?

Honestly, are you serious?

Actually, you might be right, idk why everyone thought to look toward Rob as the main character. I mean, no one said they owed him 11$, so clearly he's a minor player here.

BTW, did anyone see the guy in the trailer holding the blue cup? There were only 5 (!) other people that had blue cups. That's GOTTA be important. Why else would a number be involved?

Did Jamie forget how to work the camera?

Well its been over two weeks since Jamie's first video was discovered and probably 3 weeks since it was put online.

In her own words...

"this is probably one of the many, many video messages you'll be getting from me, while you're away on your trip."

I wonder what her definition of many is...I was hoping there would be one or so about every two weeks, but it dosn't appear to be the case.

Maybe she found another guy already? Laughing

Perhaps a different password reveals a different video?

Well it seemed natural to assume Rob was the main character as the party revolved around him and he was the first person whose name we came to know. Smile

Interesting, but is that physically possible? Assign several passwords to a single 'password entry place'?

5 other people? So, six people with blue cups?

Yes it would be possible, but I would think *not* probable. Think of how people can login to sites using a password and see different content.

Like I said, I think they'll keep the content in one accessible place. but i could be wrong.

Maybe Jamie's infection got outta hand and she's been in the doctors quite a bit. lol

I don't think I've actually been to one of those sites with that type of feature.

However I think you're right that they'll keep it simple as I don't think there'd be a need for several passwords.

That's the thing. I remember playing this one game, Synagoga1, where I found the main website after a note was mailed to unfiction saying "this is what happens when you go against the will of god"
The website was, of course, www.againstthewillofgod.com (now dead). Thing was: it took us a good few days to find/puzzle over, but once we hit it, we immediately knew we had ourselves a solve.
THe thing about Jamieandteddy is that we have no idea if that was the only "solve" from myspace. We also don't have a good timeline.
Think about the fact that we had "broken in" within a few hours. I don't know if we were behind the ball (i.e. this is one of like 6 websites we were supposed to discover by now) or ahead of the game (man! they won't crack this password for a few weeks, heh heh heh)

Just another open ended, confusing lead.

I don't see why different passwords are so far fetched... it's no different than typing in different keywords in to AOL; the server decides where to go based on the posted content.

The decisioning logic as to whether the password(s) is valid or not is server-side, so they can pretty much do whatever the hell they want.

Again, and I have said this many a time before, I still feel that this is an "experience"... People are somehow expecting that hidden clues in the daily lives of these would-be victims will suddenly reveal what the monster is.

First off, do remember that none of them have lived the monster experience yet; they have a little under four months to discover that. So, unless they have an amazing sense of premonition that even they themselves don't know about, don't expect clues from them.

Secondly, the clues that we have found have led only to further exposure of the characters. If there is a clue as to the monster, its origins, etc... I don't think it will come from anything the characters say or do.

Which leads me to the new picture on the 1/18 site... it has *nothing* to do with any of the existing characters. I think it's a new arc, and of all the things we have so far probably the best path to the clues you all so desperately want.

Of course, I don't think this is quite a "game" yet, but what do I know?

If there are more passwords I think they might be along the lines of:

In the vid she talks about missing him... she tries to quote someone but gets it wrong. She says something like "I miss you like the sky misses the flowers or is it the stars miss the sky?... whatever." Sounds like a challenge to find the correct quote. Maybe if we find the correct quote the password would be obvious, like JLmissesTH.

the quote is:
I miss you like the sun misses the flowers, like the sun misses the flowers in the depths of winter, instead of beauty to direct it's light to, the heart hardens like the frozen world which your absence has banished me to.
