I'd be down. I still haven't even finished campaign yet, though. Haven't had much time. But 4-player coop online sounds ridiculous.

I'd definitely be down for that. I think I've got everything that can be gotten from campaign by now. But I'd like to see the terminals again on Legendary. Maybe they'll make more sense now that I've read the Heroic ones.

I am up for it, but unfortunately won't be around much for at least the next month. My choice of times to move was extraordinarily poor Smile

Happy to play whatever day - indeed, I'd look forward to it, co-op with two has been exactly one metric heap of fun - but I'm in the GMT timezone which might complicate scheduling. Tag is "Obscure Injoke" (with a space) for any who haven't added...

I got to play some Co Op with HitsHerMark earlier today before work!

It was awesome! We were not wearing Queen Helene Mint Julep Mud Masks, but we did gossip about our obsessive love for dual-wielded spikers.

Mmmmmm.

One Spiker = Love
Two Spikers = True Love

So they are different?? We need some kind of transcripts for those things

Pretty much! But dual maulers (on multiplayer) also demands some love!

I'll gladly go though coop with anyone who wants as long as I'm not preoccupied with building a 15 story Master Chief out of concrete dividers that is. With 4 people coop is not bad at all on Legendary so if you'd like to get the achievements for that I'm up for it. As for times, my time online will be even more random that normal due to my school having stuff due this week so next week I should be back in full force but this week I'm gonna be a bit occupied.

*If you haven't played though the Campaign don't read the blocked out box, it's nothing you wouldn't expect but I like to be safe.*

If you want to get the points achievements its really easy if you go though it on normal and have these gold skulls on: Tough Luck, Fog, and Thunderstorm for every missions. I also turned on Catch from time to time.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Only when I was fighting the flood because they don't throw grenades.

Here's a guide to all of the skull locations.

Link?

And, BTW, I'd be down for some co-op legendary some time; just send me an invite.

I had this AWESOME match earlier yesterday afternoon - I was in matchmaking in the Mythic map playlist, and it was a Slayer match on Sandbox.

Our team was doing alright, I guess, not great. We were ahead, and then we started slipping, and then team members started quitting. Pretty soon it was just me and one other guy against 4 others.

He was holding his own at the base, and so I retreated to one of the vehicle bays to kinda collect my thoughts and see any patterns, because what I lack in awesome skillz I make up for in Not Getting Killed As Much and Using That Against the Enemy. Make 'em mad enough that they can't kill me, they come after me, leaving them open to attack by my team mates. Y'dig?

Except, well, I only have one other team mate.

So, I hopped into the 'hog's gunner, and picked off a few dudes who didn't see me in time to lob grenades at me. Other dude sees what I am doing, and runs over and hops behind the wheel.

In the few minutes remaining, we caught up to them, surpassed them, and kept the lead until the final seconds ran out.

It was awesome. Smile

I then went and looked for all of the Mythic skulls. The one for Sandbox is a bit tricky - I had to download a map just to have the pathway to get to it, otherwise the Guardians get ya.

On surviving Valhalla and the Narrows
tricky griefing/glitchy stuff to watch out for

Recently, I've seen two tricky things going on in Matchmaking that tend to either upset the balance of a particular map for CTF, or allow for a frustrating amount of griefing in an Assault game.

In Valhalla, it is possible to get to the opponent's base, drop the flag onto the top of the fusion core that spawns to the left of the main man cannon, and then ping the core with a BR shot to get the flag to fly a huge distance across the map towards home. In the one game I saw it happen, the flag went all the way from the beach base core to the middle entrance of the opposing side's cave path. (it's where a BR, shottie, and two plasmas live, if that helps clarify) From there, it's no problem for a team mate to pick it up from there and bring it the rest of the way home.

On the Narrows last night, we witnessed the opposing team jumping down below the main structure a lot. Most of the time they were doing it for no apparent reason, but as the match went on and we scored a point, they started bringing the bomb down there.

Usually, the Guardians will kill you if you're down there for any length of time on the belt/ring itself, but apparently Bungie shot itself in the foot on its Assault configuration: the little ledges that stick out from the sides of the belt normally DON'T have crates lodged into them, but in Assault maps, they do. We watched the film after, and what we saw was one guy simply dropping down with the bomb and perching on the edge of a crate - for about three minutes' worth of game time. We think Bungie initially put crates in the ledge spots to keep people from hiding there outright, but the crates only seem to make it easier. Grr.

It was suggested that Bungie should just raise up the entire kill floor of the level, and I can only agree, as I don't really WANT to spend most of my matchmaking time circumventing cheating behavior - it got tired in Halo 2, and so far, I've been spoiled by a relative lack of it in Halo 3.

So, there ya go! Two things to watch out for, if you're in matchmaking.

It is sort of fun, though, to see how far you can make the flag hop in Valhalla, if you're in a custom game. Smile

ETA: quick antidotes to this cheating behavior:

- in Valhalla, simply destroy that fusion core every time it spawns. It's on a pretty fast respawn, and it's likely that normal battle conditions will move it or destroy it anyway, but it's not a bad idea to take it out anyway, esp. if you're trying to snipe from the base.

- in Narrows, get yourself some stickies, rockets, brute shot, or a well-placed frag grenade - you want to knock the bomb-holder off his precarious crate, and trying to kill him with BR or even the Needler might take too long. Once he drops, be ready: the bomb will re-spawn (either in the middle for Neutral gametypes, or at their base for one- or multi-bomb)
