[SPEC/OT] Halo 3 Theories

I can only guess on the plot line, but I cant wait to hear yours.

Spartan 117 is on the ship heading for earth.
Once he arrives you will go through some crappy rendence of the past two halo 2 games
You will learn how to shoot and look up and down. After that you will go
into a emense fight on earth and fight everyone. You will be intruduced to
some new weapons and possibly some new vehicals.After that you will first go to chicago to foundation to get your new armor
After that you will go to south africa and fight with the remaining covenant army.
Brutes will come into the picture at this time and they are fighting the covenant also.
On your way to africa your ship falls down and your stuck in a rainforest area with brutes a plenty
they come to help the forunners and stop the covenant from advancing in rank. Master Cheif will leave the rain forest area only to find himself on a
deserttedwasteland. There is a storm coming and with the approaching storm lighting up the skies covenant and brutes charge you and you and the UNSC marines
fight them offmore epic battles happen and master cheif eventually finds where the fourunners have been hiding a secret underground ship that is the arc. The arc is
powering upto send a signal to every halo and have them destroyed. At that time 343 guilty spark teleports to master cheif and takes him back in time to before
captian keyes diedYou replay the mission where captain keyes died but this time you save him before he turned into the flood. With captain keyes alive and the knowledge
master chief know they destrou the icon then and there and then the fourrunners show up. They ask for the icon and when captain keyes says that they broke it then send
their elietes at themGuilty spark comes in again and takes him back to the future to show him what it was like when he met gravemind. Gravemind is actually the main threat
behind everythingHe told the fourrunners to make the halos so they could have a place to live and he made it so they would explode to conquer the universe. Gravemind
actuallyprogrammed a fake Oracle that was guilty spark 343. Now with the icon destroyied master cheif has to somehow figure out a way to activate the remaining
halo rings to killgravemind so he cant continue his endless torment on all of the universe like he is now. He will have to kill himself and everyone alive but no other
race will ever have to like this. He goes the point of the arc where he faces many brutes who were guarding it. He makes his way through the hordes of brutes by himself and
gets to the arc. He is faced
with tartaus again because he never killed him yet due to the time morphing. They fight in a reflexive type battle and eventually it ends with master
cheif stealing his hammer and killing him with it
He goes to the arc and finds something very unusual...Cortana. She is the one that has actually been helping master cheif through all this time and guiding
him alongShe has been working on a plan to make an artifical icon to make the arc work. She needs something from the forunners though so she calls for pendant 2442
and he takes him to the old forunner death area.
Brutes are still there from the many years ago and he fights them to get to the forrunners he steals the data from their little hover things and he gets
teleported back to cortana. Cortana made the shell of the icon
master cheif gives her the data. She programs it into it but its gonna take awhile. Master chief will have to guard her from intruders that are trying to
stop. This includes the humans who think what your doing is wrong.
Covenant who dont want you to destroy the halos yet so they can furfil their proficies. The Brutes who are now just trying to kill master cheif. The flood
because they are like that. And gravemind because he doesnt want to die.
All of these people are after the chief and killing each other too right outside the arc while cortana gets it working. With scarabs and eleietes brutes
and pelecans its an epic battle and then cortana says
"So this is the way the world ends" and the arc shoots a shot into the sky and sends a signal to every halo out there and they all explode destroying all
know intelligence of everything...screen fades...and then a big bang happens.
and your waking up from the pod you first started out in...and it all happens again.

Now dont say it sucks because I know that much already...tell me why it sucks...I just had a basic idea and added in gameplay elements to make it more fun. Things I found while reasearching:

Gameplay elements feature Arbiter and Master Cheif on the same team and if you play coop you play as both of them.

At some point they enter Traxus which is a company heard about in the books and located near the Ark location.

Fourth Grenade added to the roster.

Storyline element:The covenant are trying to turn our cities into glass.

There is some sorta halo around one of the planets you go to.

Also another thing is I want you to tell me why my theroy cant work. I havent read the books but my friend told me the basics of them so if there is anything from there that cant make my theroy work tell me.

Ok, your theory works, but I found a few things I thought was out there...

1. I dont think the Chief is getting new armor. If you watch the E3 Announcement trailer, youll notice his armor looks the same, and is quite beat up. Also, in the latest E3 trailer, you can see where the forerunner ship has landed on Earth, and theres a big, almost crater thing around it.
2. I think theres going to be a some kind of symbalance of the elites and humans bonding. Since humans were so nice to forgive the elites of all their past massacres of humans, the elites may now think the humans and elites were destined to be brothers. So basically, more elites and humans working together.
3. Gravemind somehow survived the last halo firing. He was alive back then, so what makes you think that hell die in this one?
4. How do the forerunners teleport here? theyre long dead.
5. In the mission where Keyes dies, hes been infested by the flood for hours, re running the mission will do nothing.
6. Cortana is on High Charity with Gravemind, not the Ark, end of story.
7. The Covenant would NOT be against the halos firing. The Halos firing is their 'great journey' remember? Plus, it says on halo3.com the Covenant are threatening to fire the Halos.
8. If the Chief only saves Keyes somehow, how is Taurturus still alive?

About Gravemind, I was thinking about how he would have survived the first Halo firing, which lead me to think about how all the flood that the Forerunners kept on the Halos to study survived. As far as we know, the only way they could have is if they were in the Ark or a sheild world like Onyx. This made me wonder if somehow the Halos are immune to the fireing, like somehow the firing radiates around them and doesn't affect the Halos themselves. Sorry if someone already said this.

just an FYI, we don't ask that spec be placed in spoilers - there is quite a lot of spec in these forums - some accurate, some not. We only ask that actual spoilers be spoilered, such as solutions to puzzles, or key movie/tv plot points.

The enormous red block containing your spec illustrates this issue - a pain to look at... people will know and decide for themselves whether they want to participate in and/or read plot speculations.

So don't worry about putting spec in plain vision. We've never had a problem with it before (unless of course, the spec poster had some kind of inside information).

So by all means, feel free to remove your spoiler tags. If you're really concerned that you think you might on track and don't want to ruin it for anyone, then I think a simple "possible spoilers below" disclaimer would be sufficient.

Yeah, ive always thought that, that if the Halos fire, the inside must not be touched.
But you know i just thought, Gravemind is in High Charity, a ship, He can go anywhere he wants now

1. Well there have been speculations that since there are hidden Halo 3 logos on foundation and the description of the map shows that it could be an armor testing facility and his armor is completely different from the number of circles on his hands to the totally unique color. The Announcement trailer is about when the world ends the first time. in my theory.
2. I agree I dont know if I didnt make that clear or not but yes arbiter and master cheif show that covenant and human can bond and I think they take on the flood in the end. I made this awhile ago and editted it in between new realeases so its very very typo enchanced
3. I think that when all the halos go off all life is destroyed and it just all starts over again. I saw in one of these files that at one point it was a countdown to the firing of halo then it went forward in time to 7 seconds and it spamed reset...Thats what gave me the idea to redo the series after that if this has anything to with the storyline that is.
4. I might of said forunners I think i meant monitors/oracles are the ones that were teleporting and time traveling.
5. Well you could go back to the level before keyes dying or do an alternate version of the level where you can save him.
6. Cortana is an AI meaning shes basically a computer in the campaign trailer it shows he in what could be the arc struggling with something so I just said that she transferred there through master chief and thats why he got visions of her every once in awhile.
7. I thought the covenant realized that the Great Journey was a hoax made by the prophets. I might not be clear on that.
8. He never went to fight tartarus to retrieve the index if they detroyed it so tartarus was still there if he never fought him.

Now most of those questions will lead you to more questions lol anyway thanks for actually responded with intellect its apprciated.

Also I took away the spoiler things because it did seem sorta annoying after looking at it a second time.

You might consider that we have better graphics on the 360, some stuff that may not have fit on the Xbox can now fit on the 360, ie more detail, holes in the hand armor that might not have been plausible in Halo 2. Plus, you know "Hey Chief, youve directly disobeyed orders, left our billion dollar AI on the enemies ship with the leader of the flood, and your basically flying to your suicide, oh yeah heres your new armor too"
3. What? That still doesnt explain why Gravemind lived, hes sentient, he shouldve died.

6. No, i remember seeing a video with a Bungie employee saying that 'Cortana is half a galaxy away, and shes trying to contact the chief'. Cortana is on High Charity with Gravemind. And Gravemind has the ability to send this thing where ever he wants. Cortana is not with the Chief, he left her on High Chairty 7_7
7. Elites did, Covenant still follows.

1. Dont think graphics have anything to do with it but i mean come on how are noobs gonna learn how to look up and down and shoot a weapon? You have to have some sorta turtorial on how to do it since every other FPS is totally different and stuff. Just thinking you will get new armor like from halo 1 to halo 2 in the turtorial section.

6. Cortana is with the cheif in the campaign mode at some point...at that point she will enter MC and proceed with destroying the halos by making an index
7. I see where you are looking at that...I editted that before and deleted the editted stuff lol I editted it to be covenant fight the brutes in the battle as a thrid element not with MC or Brutes. The brutes are attacking MC to help prophets. Flood is doing it under the command of gravemind because Gravemind I think is the flood leader. Humanity realizes that this war will end up getting them killed either way so to make sure other races and species dont get tormented by gravemind then they will help MC guard the ark to let it set off.

My Storyline in a nutshell:

looking for ark
finding ark
realizing the world is going to explode
going back in time
saving keyes
getting index
destroying index
going into the future again
finding out gravemind didnt want the halos to explode so he can live forever and torment people
fight to ark
find cortana in ark
help her make a fake index
go to some far away coveneant planet ( Possibly Onyx )
Get data for a new index
fight your way back to cortana
give her data
guard the ark from all the opposing races.
Brutes to help forunners
flood for gravemind
Humanity helps you
Cortana makes a new index
the world ends a second time

1. Well they dont expect newbies to jump in to Halo 3, plus that can be summed up with /ship hits Earth rather hard. Chief gets out, vision is blurred. Then you hear your commander say "Chief, are you alright? check your vision look up or down blah blah..."
3. Well he wasnt too far away, and he was still sentient. The forerunners mention him negotiating or whatever.
6. How do you know that? Please enlighten me.

1. That could also be but I almost remember hearing bungie dudes quote on the new armor in a vidoc on the making of the announcment trailer

He would have been far enough away or shielded himself to block just ONE halo but maybe with the others exploding it makes a bigger explosion then if they all exploded indivually so he couldnt live through enough plus it could detroy the stars and then he would be stuck in a mass of space or get destroyed with the rest of the universe.

3. OK, i think you dont get the halos. When activated, they ALL fire, at once, created a huge universe sized explosion, that doesnt acually detonate anything, but instantly kills all sentient beings if they werent in the Ark. Its impossible for him to get out of the firing range, no ship could travel that far. So he was inside the firing range, and somehow survived. Probally in the Ark.

6. Um, no, 343 is rocking with the hologram, its a Princess Leia-like hologram emitting from 343.

How did a halo explode without all of them exploding? If one can explode with all of them setting off and destroying all sentient life before...So he hasnt gotten attacked from the first one because it wasnt activated from the ark...I could still be completely wrong...

If cortana is a hologram in that scene then I guess they could be wrong about that whole thing...

Yeah, if you watch, 343 leans exactly with the hologram, on a hologram table... So. Yeah

The Halos dont 'explode' (I think you mean like literally going BOOM!) they send out a pulsar that instantly kills all life. Yeah, so its not like we have 7 rounds to fire. I think thats what your saying. But i think Gravemind survived the last Halo-universe-clearing-pulsar because hes the exact opposite of life - death
