There seems to be some rhythmic sounds on node3, 138 vhf, 113.5

I rate it a 9.5 because its easy to dance to.

Node3/ 138 VHF/ 113.5 Azimuth
Trying to decipher the Morse code

It's hard to hear through the static, but I think this is close:
... .- -.- .. -. .- ... .... . .-. ..- .-.. -...

Which translates to SAKINASHERULB ...which doesn't make sense, but I'm posting it as a possible starting point. I'm not confident about the end, particularly the last 3 letters.

I've been using this Morse code translator with the speed set to 10 for comparison.

I was asked to try and remove some of the noise from this. It's kind of hard to do, considering it's not the regular dot dot dash, and I'm not using a professional program, but I hope this helps.

[UPDATE] dearther broadcasts

There's a new strange sound on:
Node 1 UHF, 0.93 GHz, 298.0 AZ
Node 2 UHF, 0.93 GHz, 308.5 AZ and
Node 6 UHF, 0.93 GHz, 225.5 AZ

It's using stereo; bouncing between the right and left speakers. Maybe it's Morse code, too.

And Thanks, audioslave!
/me gets busy

Not knowing Morse code; just going by ear and lots of it (so much so, that there's actually a beeping in my head Smile )... this the closest that I get.
... .- -.- .. .- -. ... .... . .-. ... .- .. .-..
SAKIANSHERSAIL

I'm open to any suggestions for changes.

Map updated with the two new signals:

Google Earth
Google maps.

ETA:
In a Mercator world, the triangle for the .93GHz signal is quite a bit smaller than the current map (Done in GE).

I'll rework it in GM to clean it up. I really wish the KML export feature in GM would work.

EDIT2:
Cleaned it up and see that there is a small community/airtport serving Ashland Montana at St. Labre Mission within the triangle created. There is also a Cheyenne Indian Museum in close proximity. There may also be a Custer connection.

Link about the airport
Link about the Museum

The airport could be a source for the signal...
Or, I could be all wet.

There are some interesting obits on this page if you search for "radio". FWIW: 27 and 49MHz are frequencies used in entry-level radio control toys.

I feel your pain, xnbomb. But, I'm still learning some interesting mapping skills, so I'll hang a bit longer. It is disheartening that there is no communication channel available to help us feel like we're getting anywhere with all this.

Great job on the Morse!

SAKIANSHERSAIL

SAKIANS HER SAIL

Doesn't ROT to anything much forward or backward.

Interesting anagram is Sharia Sealskin.

Could be combined with the right/left signal in some way.

www.ajkin.com could be pointing to 5 corners.
There's a Five Corners in Idaho, a bit out of our area
What has 5 corners? Pentagram? Pentagon? A middle management drug dealer?

Edit to add
Node3 138 vhf is way clearer now! Must be somthing there we're supposed to get Razz

Yea!! Lots of good stuff! Everybody come on back!!

Thanks MerRabbit and Drizjr for all the work, you are much appreciated.

Would 515 MHz = .515 GHz? If you use the nodes on .swf and zoom in just right you can get some finer frequencies, but so far nothing around .515 GHz.

One post at the Herald makes mention of "nearby Sebetha" and another talks about route 19. But the only one of those I can find is a fair piece distant. On the other side of Wichita.
So, maybe none of our looking for real places was ever supposed to pan out.

OTOH: Our Node 3 signal on 214Mhz does intersect Route 19.

There are a few mentions of "route 80" and one mentions "heading west" on it to Sabetha. But, Route 80 is west of Sabetha. About equidistant between Wichita and KC.

The broadcast on:
Node 1 UHF, 0.93 GHz, 298.0 AZ
Node 2 UHF, 0.93 GHz, 308.5 AZ and
Node 6 UHF, 0.93 GHz, 225.5 AZ
Has also been made much clearer today.(eta: Or maybe it was changed?)

The morse
.-. / ..- / -... .-.. .. -. -.. ..--.. / ..- ... . / - .... . / ...- --- .. -.-. .
translates to
R U BLIND? USE THE VOICE

eta: the spacing of the words which are there in the code.
