Ok, so now we have 3 "radio stations" each given with a lat long set.

I am guessing we have to catch the correct signal on each band to combine for another message.

Now we need to find where to get the signal combinatiions...

New message on Node 6

There's a new voice message on Node 6, LF, 174 frequency, 72 Az.
It replaces the "Welcome back, pew people" message from the preacher.

Message (spoilered in case you want to go hear it for yourself):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A man's voice. Guessing from inflection and content, that he is of Native American decent.
Challenges of the Midwest are many. Few of us have running water. When the local propane gives out, food is made by firewood. How many of you have outhouses you thought were a thing of the past? Anybody caught any deer recently?
Let's lead the revival back in the prairie.
I extend my arms to brothers and sisters of all creeds.
Let's make something new here. Let's make it challenging.
Strange sound, then static.

Re: Triangle Man, Triangle Man
Does whatever a triangle can

xnbomb wrote:
Het found some pretty cool signals. Specifically at 27 MHz, with azimuths 110, 150, and 347.5 from Nodes 1-3. It sounds a lot like talking. And it triangulates rather nicely (although not perfectly, zoomed in it forms a triangle of about 1/2 mile length on the long direction, but this is to be expected with the angles incremented to only 1/2 a degree).

EDIT: It centers over about N 44.16 W 103.32, or Blackhawk, SD according to my sources.

EDITED AGAIN: To add various missing words.

it depends on the process to generate the azimuth line. If you use a program it may be a great circle. That could end up just a little off. And don't forget real triangulation is for going somewhere. Then you have eyes on the ground.

So, that cackling is coming from a triangle 20 Kilometers long (like 13 or 14 miles). It's center is N 39.68 W 104.88.

That spot is pretty much smack in the middle of Denver, Colorado...
And from this we are supposed to infer... what?
An open mike?

gotta be something to that

I don't think we have seen ANY typos in this game. So far anything like that has turned out to be a clue.

Could that be the missing "I"s?

alright. After a lot of ime listening to the garbled talking "message" I think it says the following:

Dear God, Thunder Mountain is down!

Thunder Mountain is down!

Thunder is down!

Thunder Mountain, OH NO!

Thunder Mountain, OH NO! HELP!

DEAR GOD!!!

Then it repeats. Although it is garbled, and might not even intended to sound like talking, I think hat might be whatever that thing is trying to tell us.

Speculation and comments are welcome Razz

You did not give a freq or heading but this is what I believe you are refering to.
Node 1, Azimuth 90, hf frequency 27mHz? "Thunder Mountain, Thunder Mountain"
Signal best at Az 150.
Best reading of the signal;

* Thunder Mountain do you copy.
o Repeat
* Thunder Mountain we got hit by a ?.
o Repeat.
* Thunder Mountain we got hit ??.
o Repeat
* We (replied) ?.
* Thunder Mountain you can ?.
* Thunder Mountain you copy?

That is the best I got. Good luck.

If you're curious as to what the chat thinks is being said:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Hey, it's me.... I'm in Wichita... You know I wont use my name."

Holy F**K! They it the clearest one I've heard so far! The voice is clear, comprehensible, and completely un-garbled! That is an excellent find!!!

And where did it go?

First of all, let it be known that the 27 MHz message is slightly different on node 3 now. It's a bit clearer, and the message is longer.

Second, here is the 214 signal. I slowed it down, pitched it down, and cleared the speech up a bit. I've heard different theories of what she says. I hear:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hey, It's me. I'm in Wichita. No, I won't use my name.

Also, the way she says it implies (to me, at least) that she is talking to an accomplice of sorts. Imagine this fake scenario:
A man and woman plot to kill someone in Wichita. Once the woman gets there, she calls her partner.

Her: "Hey It's me."
Him: "Where are you?"
Her: "I'm in Wichita."
Him: (something to effect of) "Will you sign in to the hotel as [whatever her real name is]?"
Her: "No, I won't use my name."

Or something like that... Confused

Anyway, here's the audio file.

Ok Several times there has been mention of a sound file yet none of the message have a siound file attached.

mystery talking: Node 6, azimuth 198 freq 27 HF

Node 1 is showing comments at Azimuth 31.5 freq 49 on VHF.. it's the same as the node 6 comment.

Node 1 also showing brian archer message on AZ 154 freq 96

az 31.5, freq 148 the ?vampire?1 message on node 1

NEW MYSTERY COMMENTS: node 6, Azimuth 74.5 freq 49MHZ VHF
"This is thunder mountain, this is thunder mountain. (something) Delta 1 do you copy? Delta 1 do you copy?"

"This is thunder mountain, Delta 1 do you copy?" "We have a (something imbound (sounds like bog)"

nother set of comments also node 6
Azimuth 74.5 Freq 148
"This is thunder mountain, thunder mountain. This is the ?Vampire? 1 ?Vampire?1 come in."

The first message is thunder mountain calling "Black Hills 1". I think they're saying they have Fog inbound... not sure though.

The second message is thunder mountain calling "Vampire 1"...

Hmmm... This sounds awfully similar to military air/sea/ground communications. It's very interesting, but still pretty meaningless.

Also, since both Azimuths are the same, and both originate from Thunder Mountain, we should be on the right path to find out where it is, and what it is.

Ya both transmissions are from the same area on different frequencies. I think it's an AZ to watch.

The message seems a little URGENT for it to just be incoming fog.

I'd guess its some sort of code.

also the first time through it seems to be saying more than just fog.

Wonder if Vampire is a military code? something like bravo or delta. more specific i'd assume

Vampire One is likely a call sign. Freqs in the higher ranges often are aircraft.

Re: Triangles, lines, dots

Here's a quick roundup of the signals we have found so far, and a map showing where they cross:

27 MHz - W 103.32 N 44.16 - Mapped in red

Node 1 - Azimuth 150
Node 2 - Azimuth 110
Node 3 - Azimuth 347.5
Node 6 - Azimuth 198 (this one does not triangulate well with the others)

8 MHz - W 104.87 N 39.71 - Mapped in green

Node 1 - Azimuth 195
Node 2 - Azimuth 185
Node 3 - Azimuth 236 (this one misses the meeting of the other two by a fair distance)

214 MHz - Mapped in black

Node 3 - Azimuth 129.5

267 MHz - Mapped in cyan

Node 3 - Azimuth 87.5

96 MHz - W 101.59 N 40.54 - Mapped in magenta

Node 1 - Azimuth 154
Node 3 - Azimuth 119.5

49 & 148 Mhz - W 101.07 N 48.68 - Mapped in gray

Node 1 - Azimuth 31.5
Node 6 - Azimuth 74.5

No map! But the way you describe your map you made backwards. To triangulate you need to map from the receiver to the sender. That is the opposite of what you did.
I mapped these out as well if youo'd like to compare contact me.
