very creepy.

"Hello? Can anybody hear me? This is Burnstown/Boy's Town. We got guns. We killed the adults. Anybody?"

The message repeats twice. The first time around, it sounds like "Burnstown", and the second time around, it sounds like "Boy's Town"

Yikes...

I wonder why the new messages are only showing up on node 3....

seems odd.

well this development could actually add to my theory that the message is saying : "Doctor Malcolm is dead, over...please advise"

this sounds like children of the corn! lol

(lol, It does remind of children of the corn!)

And I'kll have to agree. I'm listening to Thunder Mountain/Dr. Malcolm guy and I think it just might be "Dr. Malcolm". But at the end it seems to high pitched and worried sounding to be "Please Advise"

I think it might be either "Dear God!" or "Oh My God!".

But on another note:

Is it just me or does "I'm in Wichita" girl sound creepily like "We killed the adults" girl?

Would the azimuth reading from Lodgepole NE to Boystown at Ohama NE be about 87.5?

since we're talking about possible popculture connections Anybody think this could have anything to do with the CBS television show jericho which is set in the midwest and deals with a post nuclear scenario?

interesting comment!!! i'm not familiar with the show and checked it out at IMDb..... found this under "crazy credits"

Quote:
Each episode's title card is accompanied with audio containing only Morse code (dots and dashes, or short and long beeps) which, when translated, provides a short hint (around 3 words) about the episode to come.

Jericho is awesome. However, nothing we've seen so far connects (plot wise) with Jericho.
I think that if this were related to Jericho, the references would coincide with those from the show... Not to mention the fact that radios didn't play a major part in season 1.

With that said, this whole radio business, with people broadcasting weird messages over the ether does remind me of the situation as it is on the show.

So, I guess it could go either way.

the whole smoke signals on the map reminded me vaguely of the African American "agent"(whose name escapes me ATM) marking off on his map the cities where bombs have been detonated but I agree there's hardly a definitive connection at this point. Just throwing it out there.

Bang Head nothing in this game seems connected.. its like a ARG writers' night of stream-of-conscience dreams strung together thread, tape, glue and spit.

I've been looking into the Jericho angle myself. I was actually looking it up because the show sounded interesting and once i read the synopsis I thought,
"Could this be Tooman?",

But this morning we have a new broadcast.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Node 1, Node3 VHF 96Mhz
.

This is what it sounds like to me:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"This is Bri(y)an Archer with more questions than answers, question (unclear) three, did the government decide on regicide? (unclear)spider's (unclear) eating it's head."
[/spoiler]

ETA: Gak! do you know how many people misspell "redecide" on the web... )

"can a spider save it's BUTT by eating its head?"
