(XBOX 360) Bioshock reviews on Metacritic.com! holy cow 98/100! Well, the first few reviews for Irrational Games "modern Masterpiece" have come in. so far, the game has a Metascore of 98, which could rise to 99 if one or two more scores of 100 are given. And remember, the highest rated game on the site, Considered by many to be the greatest game of all time, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time(N64) has a metascore of 99! Could Bioshock itself be the greatest game ever, topping even Zelda? one things for sure, no matter how good Halo 3 is, this game is FOR SURE gonna get Game Of The Year!
P.S. Valve has announced that Bioshock will be released on STEAM!

I do want to check this game out, but no. That is impossible, nothing will ever top Zelda.
It would be appreciated if you wouldn't speak such blasphemies again, thank you.

From what I've heard and seen of this game, I expect the world to stop for a while as it is released and is being played.
Because, OMG, it looks amazing.

I got to watch Dasro play a few hours of it last night.
AWESOME level design, graphics, gameplay.
Sound design *alone* nets this game major props from me. Honestly, voice acting is very good, and the production is just awesomely creepy and well-done.
Art deco stylee makes me a happy grrl, it's true, and it plays wickedly with Objectivist ideas.
GOOD STUFF

I've been playing this on the PC and really enjoying it. The hardest part for me so far is to remember that one does not simply run up and shoot a Big Daddy. Voice acting, music, sound and lighting are all top notch all contributing to one of the most immersive games I've seen in quite some time. Also, in a next gen first, it's not brown.

Just beat the game today. It definitely deserves 100/100. Greatest game ever. I was thinking they should make this into a movie and an ARG to go with it

it's long... and full of pretty much everything - non-linear (in places to go per level, generally), upgrades to weapons and abilities, invention (aka alchemy), simultaneous goals, replayability, gorgeous graphics... it's like, it took the best of every fps and put it in here (in the single player sense); almost a good RPG as well, if it had experience to improve your character .
I'm just about half way, but haven't been able to spend more than a few hours twice, and the world is rich with places to explore and achievements to unlock. velly nice!

I absolutely love this game. Close second only to HalfLife2, imho.
The sound design is really quite astounding, especially when I had to play on headphones one night (highly recommended). The level designs are very well thought out, not to mention gorgeous, and I really gotta agree with the OMG-NOT-BROWN sentiment.
I'd be surprised if the Big Daddy/Little Sister doesn't become iconic. If this isn't the Game of the Year, I'll eat someone's hat.
And yeah, I've beaten it, and am currently replaying trying to get a different ending (not to spoil).

I agree, nothing, and I repeat nothing was as good as Zelda:Ocarina of Time. The time I spent stuck on the water temple was a horrible period Until my friend who had never played the game before found a mistake I made and pointed it out, so i went back to a previous save and got through. Two heads are better than one I guess.
I played the bioshock demo and it looked amazing, and I can't honestly say what the game is like because I only played the first level, but it seemed like it would be a bit too easy because of the respawner tube thingies found throughout the game. In other games, you'd have to start at the beginning of the level again. Maybe its just a testament to the true difficulty of the game . has anyone played multiplayer? the interface looked like it would be a bit herkyjerky in multiplayer, like it wouldn't be smooth or something. Anyways, that's just what I felt, but I haven't actually played it. My Xbox360 got the flashing ring of death for the third time and I have to wait until the 25th for COSTCO to send me a new one... which is the release date of Halo 3...curses...

I'm waiting until tomorrow to grab the demo of this (the file would take up over 10% of my current dl limit, I don't have one once I get to uni tomorrow).
@Vman, there isn't a multiplayer mode in the game...

Agreed. I don't have a 360 yet but planning to get one by the end of this year. I almost went into debt just so I could play this game and get the 360 early. MAN, I count the days till...

Buy it on PC. That what I did and saved $20 ($39.99 vs. 59.99) over the cost of buying it for the 360. If you're worried about rootkits, then install it on an VM image (ie virtual machine) as I did and just nuke the installation when you're done
This game is hands down better than HL2, but doesn't really match up to Zelda. That's really more trying to compare apples and oranges.

BioShock is flippin' awesome. I've played through it twice for both endings. It's kind of leisurely on easy, incredibly hard on medium (i played it first on medium), and i havent even wanted to try on hard. Great endings for the good ending!
