Squeeee! Now I'm really excited.
Now if only Mapmaker would confirm that he's going, I could stop worrying about driving all the way there by myself.

Hey, you could always make the five hour detour to pick me up!

Bloomington, so pretty much straight south of where you are, and certainly no closer to WV. But I guess it's only three and a half hours from where you are, not five.

[SPEC] Collaboration With Howard's talk about communication , it seems likely that those not going to the feast need to be in contact with those who are. Crazy how the radio quiet zone plays havoc with the normal cell phone check-ins. I guess someone needs to email Foresight and make sure that there's at least a landline. And do we have a list of public pay phones somewhere from I Love Bees?

Well, the Payphone Project has a list of payphones in West Virginia .
Just eyeballing it, these look like possibilities for the QZ:
Quote:
A few hundred feet west of WV route 28&55 north of its intersection with US 33 at Seneca Rocks, WV (ZIP 26884).
(304) 567-9890
Quote:
Along side of Harper's Store and Restaurant located at intersection of WV 28&55 with US 33, in Seneca Rocks West Virginia (ZIP 26884).
(304) 567-9888
Quote:
Outside the Alpine Lodge on north side of US 33 at Alpena, West Virginia. (636 is an Elkins WV exchange -- Alpena is about 10 miles to the east of Elkins)
(304) 636-9811
Quote:
outside Hermatage Exxon Bartow Wva
(304) 456-9920
There are probably more in that list, but it takes a while to figure out where they are located..

Consider yourself lucky! I have a thirteen hour drive ahead of me...possibly alone!

Where are you again?

He's Floridian, if I recall correctly.
Anyway, it'd only be that few hours to pick me up, Mar. There's still getting to WV after that, which will probably be at least another eight or nine hours.
Not quite thirteen, but we're still not exactly close

A short warning: I woke up this AM with a very sore throat and a fever. If this was happening this weekend, there is no way I would plan on going.
Does someone want to take my place on the list? If I can go, and I do want to, I can bring a sleeping bag.

Mapmaker called me a while ago. He had three messages on his phone, one from me, one from Taluria and one from Kona. He said I was the only one who left a number. Here is the gist of the conversation:
They got the shit scared out of them.
They met BA and DC and 2 Dreamers. Emmet was supposed to come, but didn't show up. They found out he's a dream person. He left a note for BA saying "It's your turn."
BA is staying in town for the Scream. The other Dreamers leave town because they couldn't survive it. BA seems to think she can survive it.
DC is part of Chorazos and Chorazos was responsible for the Miskatonic Massacre.
The team witnessed a kidnapping. They THINK DC was taken by Chorazos but they aren't sure. I told him we thought DC might have been taken by Art. He said they heard about Art and the gun, but didn't see him.
They will contact us with more detail when they get home.
He sounded like he had a lot of fun. He mentioned the IG-OOG line and how they still aren't sure if they witnessed a REAL kidnapping or a GAME kidnapping.

Investigating sentries have started the trip home (with the exception of Biff who is already home). Biff posted an initial synopsis here -> http://sentryoutpost.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=855

Since I'm not posting on SO any longer... here are my pictures on flickr . I still have to scan in my letter from BA, so that'll be up later. I will say that I had an absolutely amazing time and it was a blast being around the characters for that long even up in the cold, windy, wet mountains of West Virginia. After Map finishes posting his second part of his novella, I'll add in my bits to the story. But its midnight here and I'm sleepy (for some reason, I haven't had a good nights sleep since last Wednesday )

I know - double post, but this is so you all know I've updated stuff. First, here's the text of the letter from BA. j5 is gonna put it on craigslist since work has it blocked for me. I'll add pictures later. And I'll also edit this post to give my impressions of the weekend.
Quote:
Me: Stepping up
You: Telling me I'm worthless
I open my eyes and unfold the paper. You leave me so little.
"It's your turn now
- Emmett"
My turn.
I follow the buzz, the ever familiar murmur, follow to see her.
Hope.
Glimmering on her pedestal, smiling in the moonlight. You call to her, and Hope spreads her wings.
Whole, unbroken, she flies up. Up to your call.
I step onto the pedestal, I know I must.
And I see you.
Looking into me.
Unspeakable horror.
I know you are seeing me.
And I know.

Check back in a bit for an update to the post since I'm not gonna triple post.
