[SPEC]Another mystery man from the trailer So...
...in the trailer, there's still a few faces that have yet to be IDed. Eleven Bucks Guy; the Asian dude; the blonde "Rob's awesome" girl (*not* Jamie Lascano, and *probably* not Blake Lively, either...neither actress really resembles this one, with the high cheekbones and the slightly whisky voice)...
...and the guy who comes in with Rob. Young guy with dark hair, striped shirt, carries a digital camera with which he snaps a pic of Rob after they spring the surprise party on him.
Any speculation on who he could be? Or where they were coming from? I'm guessing from Rob's office, but who knows.

Maybe the mysterious Teddy? if he is Rob's boss then the spec of coming from the office to the suprise party would seem to fit

Well...you see him later on in the trailer, right after the lights come back on after the first "quake"...and he's standing with a girl who's *apparently* a g/f -- but I'm just guessing. Anyway, the girl is new, too, and may be just an extra for all I know...
...but I'm just wondering if there's any significance to this guy walking in with Rob. Seems like if he was just an extra, they wouldn't even need him for that shot; wouldn't it have been easier to just have Rob walk in alone?

I think the guy stands out as someone who might be significant, because he's taking a picture and, in this whole thing, pictures have certainly been important.
But, if you watch the trailer, frame-by-frame, when it zooms in to Rob coming in the front door, you can see about three people holding their cell-phones up over the crowd to also 'capture the moment.' They're on the left of the frame as the camera zooms in.
Other than the camera, there's the fact that he walks in with Rob, but in a surprise party situation, that role (the person who brings the 'surprisee' to the party) can be played by anyone. In fact, sometimes the less well-known the better - a close friend might kill the surprise. Just a thought.

11 dollar guy I always had a hunch that they staged this surprise party with the cast and mostly bunch of extras, and were directed to improvise something about Rob when camera guy comes by. Of course some of it was written, like the "I dunno, I'm like your main dude", but not all of it. I think 11 dollar guy just said something funny enough to keep. He strikes me as the typical guy who's just there for the party, hence the "best night ever" line. Who says that about a party after college?

That all works for me, about the $11 guy. The thing that makes him possibly significant is that the cameraman owes him $11. That establishes some kind of previous relationship, i.e., he might be more than just a random person at the party.
Still, that's not much - he might have no further connection with the story.
On an unrelated note: there was mention on a myspace page of a "Niles" who was Lily's roommate. Anybody remember where that's mentioned - I can't find it and it's driving me nuts....
A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel on his crotch. The bartender says, "hey, buddy, did you know there's a steering wheel on your crotch?" The pirate replies: "Aye, she's drivin' me nuts!"

I had always assumed that he was speaking to Rob about owing him $11, since the video is for him. Am I wrong?

Oh - good call. You're right - he's talking to Rob. Can't believe I overlooked that.
That increases the odds he's someone important, but only just a bit.

I had always assumed 11 Bucks Guy was talking to Rob, too...but you may be right, also. It *could* be the cameraman -- most likely Hud -- who owes him money.

It could be Hud. But the reason why I assumed it was Rob was because
of the cameraman's answering Lena's question at the beginning, "What is this for?"
"It's for Rob, say something to him before he leaves."
Then we get the half humorous comment from that guy "You owe me $11"
In other words, pay me before you go!

And speaking of mystery people and assumptions at the same time;
I had assumed that the "Rob's Awesome. I'm gonna miss him." girl was
Blake Lively/Jamie Lascano.
Now they're discussing the possibility on another thread that they're three
different people.
Godz...

Yeah it is strange that theyve introduced possibly TWO blond girl characters without identifying the "robs awesome" girl who was featured so prominently in the trailer. it actually seems like that blond girl was in charge of the party being the one who informed everybody that rob was coming through the door and telling people to be quiet.

I'll agree with that...she definitely looks like the chick who organized the party.
So she's obviously someone important to Rob...but doesn't *seem* to be one of the Slusho 7. I'd say she might be a girlfriend who has yet to be introduced (and that could create some romantic tension and jealousy between Rob and Beth)...
...but on second glance, I don't think so. When she says, "Rob's awesome...we're gonna miss him." She doesn't sound *really* that sincere.
Instead, her demeanor reminds me more of a relative of Rob...like an older sister....or (here's where I place my bet) that cousin he briefly mentioned on his MSP who has the cute baby.

That seems likely to me.
Although there is still the possibility that she's a person who meets Rob inbetween today and 1-18-08, maybe we just haven't seen her yet. The same goes for many people at the party, but I admit it's less likely that you'll be at a surprise party for someone if you have only known then more a few months.

True...I wouldn't expect to see many *new* friends develop between now and 1-18-08, but I think a few relatives, old friends, co-workers might start showing up on Myspace....
