[Spec] 1-18-08 Roar Sounds Like a Bull Elephant Seal? I can't really do this kind of research at work (no speakers/boss too close anyway), and I didn't have time last night to search the web the way I'd like to, but the trail end of the roar reminded me of something, and just yesterday it clicked. Credit all that PBS I watched as a kid, but I could swear I've hear Bull Elephant Seals make similar vocalizations. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good audio last night. What I did find is here: http://11808.blogspot.com/2007/09/1-18-08-roar-sounds-like-bull-elephant.html
So, for what it's worth, a mutated Bull Elephant Seal works better than a whale, if you're inclined to buy into the whole aggressive organism theory. I also think there's got to be a more apt Elephant Seal audio sample somewhere on the web. Help?
Edit: deleted references to "beachmaster", i.e. fur seal.

Yeah, yeah I know. I've got a gut feeling about it though. I'll see if I can find a better clip when I get a chance.

try this sound Ok, I have been following this since 4 july and I want you guys to hear something. In the Lost survival guide from Itunes, at 33 seconds in, when the tail of the plane hits the water in the ocean, the EXACT monster roar is played...

Sounds a wee bit similar if you can make it out, but it's mainly a twisting metal sinking in water sound.

I've gotta go with hooahxo for this one. It sounds identical, just quieter and covered up with the water splash.

Mr. H has it right. The ROAR is very similar! Mr. H, good one. That sounds just like a shortened version.

Perhaps that twisting metal sound is from the SOL head being ripped off, there there is the roar and then it comes flying through the air, if i remember rightly.
