edit: and i took a look at that band website.... strange... it seems way OOG, but nonetheless strange on what it said there in the about me section.

I'm assuming that they are fans. The website has been around for a while, I believe.

Agreed. But like I said, I'm way to new to this to make any distinctions so I thought it best to bring it up anyway.
What did you think of 2c's message coming up "Korporation=$"?

Fits the theme, the Korporation is the commerce entity, the big business entity that wants us to be the faceless consumer.

But it seems strange that it's on all of 2c's voice messages. I think of the cards as being opposed to the cards, but maybe they're not. Confused Maybe the cards work for the Korp.

apoint was brought up last night that the irc chat was meant to be OOG only. I have been re-reading things and have yet to fin a refernce to this other than talk of setting one up, but I do remeber that it was mentioned that one UF player invited a member of the deck to chat. I beleive it was Athena that was specifically invited, and without scanning the chat logs (no, I refuse!) it cannot be cinfirmed. I do secifially remember it being tmentioned and others in the room thinking it would be cool if they came in. In extending an invite, the chat is now fair game for all IG as well as OOG char including Korp and potential gamejack (overly used word).

Also, there has also been talk about the "rules". On our side...there are no documented set rules for ARG's ..I spent an hour today and I found the closest thing was that Pupettmasters normally conform to the same rules as RPG like D&D. The ONLY rules the PM's need to adhere are forum rules. And i UF that means no posting. Arg's themselves lend themselves to interpretation, and therefore so do the rules. As a player of RPG's and ARG's for over 20 yrs, I can honestly say that I have never been involved in a game where in RL, BBB (that's how we used to play before the interweb) or Web forums, I have only once heard a complaint about PM's reacting to things posting in forums, and that was a change made speciffically to put the players in a losing positon. So wether PM's reacting to that or not is poor form is subjective and not a fast hard rule.

I thought that this debate had been put to rest last night, seeing as no one could agree, but since it is brought up again I will state (again) the point I was trying to make.

In re: the irc channel being OOG. When I set up the room originally, meaning the first time #silverladder existed, it was with the intent of it being OOG; a place for the "team" to get together and talk out specs etc. rather than answering posts on this board. I guess I didn't make that clear to others. The problem with it being both OOG and IG is that a character (card) could show up in the middle of a meta convo and see things that are phrased OOGly. Most of the interaction that goes on in #silverladder is very OOG, again speculation and such convos. I don't know if a player invited Athena into the channel or not, but if that is the case I was not aware of it until reading it now. You can take TINAG as far as you want, but at some point you have to admit that we as players are attempting to solve things, figure out what is going on. To successfully do that we need to have OOG conversations. This is why I suggested again last night having an IG channel and an OOG channel. To me it seems like a safe, good idea. If no one else agrees then it is, again, a moot point.

In re: rules, tos etc.
What I was concerned about was not a "rule" per se of what the pms can and can't read, but instead what they can take from this forum and use IG. Yes the lines are blurred as far as what is IG and what isn't, that is indeed the point, but again most of the posts are speculations and our thoughts on what is going on. I have no issue with a pm reading our specs to tweak their game, but if the cards had been upset about a post here, which was one of the theories before we knew exactly what was going on, I find it very hard to say that is "fair" to the players. We may post all kinds of crazy, off the wall things here; that is our right and perogative (sp?). We should not be repremanded IG for something posted on this forum. Seeing as that wasn't the case, again this seems to be a moot point at the moment.

If anyone has any questions regarding my viewpoint, please feel free to converse with me on such matters. I have already discussed this with very seasoned argers on #unfiction and they seemed to agree with me (at least that was my understanding at that time).

Lisa, there is already another channel made for silver ladder that we can use for secret talk. I don't think we'll need to use it though until the game actually starts, but then I think it should be considered critical to have a place where we meet in private. Especially whereas Korp will probably still be involved.
I real life we would want to have a secret place to comminicate. Smile

Whitehall

Actually Sythys that's not how I found it.
I simply searched silverladder on myspace and whitehall came up.
I wasn't aware the she was on the friends list.
That does make it a bit more interesting...no?

So, I'm a little confused.
Which forum is everyone mainly using to communicate?

THis site should be the main forum. It should contain all of the information we have gathered.

Correct... and it won't be long before the Admin takes noticw that we're starting to take up a lot of space... And this isn't a game with potential... It's a game.

taking up space seems more likely to get messages deleted then to get a private forum.

I'd expect that come 11/11 when the game opens and becomes a game not just spec would be when the forum would be most likely to be given. For now it's just people talking about what may happen
