Just got the email. This thing looks fuggin' mean. I really could have used one when laying a French drain in my yard for part of the yard. Still thinking about doing the other half of the yard with one. Maybe they'll let me borrow one for a weekend ...

Yeah, I'm not buying one, but I could play with one for a long weekend.

Well, all this begs the question: Why does Ditch Witch even need to viral market a new trencher? Razz

need to...or want to? Still seems the bizarest lauch ever, maybe they're trying to attract the younger farmer, who somehow has too much spare time and spend it surfing on the net..

the younger market idea would make sense. think about it - old farmers are known to be stuck in their ways.. probably untrusting of the new wave of technology... "the devils in that there compuders, ya hear!" lol.. i dunno, but if I were a younger farmer, id sure as hell want a mean ass plow/trencher/digger thingymajig...

and apparently, they arent all the size as the one with the man standing up in it.. there are bigger ones with tank track thingys...

While I don't see the Zahn as all that revolutionary (These overgrown chainsaws have been around for quite some time) The ability to switch out implements, ala Bobcat, in such a small platform is pretty cool. But it's been an evolution amongst a lot of companies. Not a revolution.

And while the primary markets for these things are probably landscapers, rental companies and municipalities (My county just has to have at least one of anything available, it seems. Whether they use it or not.)... I think today's farmer is a lot more technologically advanced than you guys are giving them credit for. Most of the big equipment runs itself via GPS/electronic boundaries and the "driver" is just along for the ride. Much of the stuff they need to do their job on a daily basis (Weather/soil reports, satellite imagery, market info, etc.) is now only available via the internet.

wooohooo! I just got my email. hahahaha.

I guess a lot of people were right in the beginning (not to mention the evidence) about this being a tractor related product.

The site was fun, I'd must admit.

HA. This is ARG gone berserk. Proof positive that EVERYONE is jumping on the bandwagon. However, I did think the website was as Cissimace put it 'Hellishly cool'. Just goes to show ANYTHING can be viral marketed. OH and I want one too.
