[FANART] [OOG] Poster of 1-18-08 on Bus stop. Adshel Photos Some photos of an adshel I saw in town (Sheffield, UK) today. Adshel: Cloverfield
So tonight I was walking through town with a friend of mine and we saw a poster, or adshel as I've been told it's called, with a picture of the statue of liberty head blown off on it. I'm sure you all know the one I mean.
I took a picture of it on my phone, the quality's not great so I apologise for that. But my friend then pointed out a picture on a different bus stop of a building being torn apart. It was a really bad image - kinda like it was taken from a camcorder. But it had then numbers on it that we all know so well:
01 - 18 - 08
Sadly I don't have that pic on my computer (my friend does), but here's the pic I took:
edit to add tag and name of town and to clarify the topic~rose

Where exactly were you, as in location/city? When do we get to see the other picture?

I'm going to guess Compton, it's in both his forum name and his photobucket name.

is that relevant though? i mean do those words have any connotation behind them in Japanese culture...especially when used together?
another thing that bugs me is that this is a distinctively AMERICAN monster. so i'm leaning towards fake.

Why so easy to label this fake? When inspected, the poster looks very much like the advertisements they put on the sides of bus stops and on the sides of streets in NYC or any other major city. If you look, the poster appears to be sealed in glass and have a metal edging. Also, it kind of looks as if there is an urban background, with building and street behind it. This looks real to me. Don't be so easy to throw away. Tough crowd with this movie, huh?

Another thing I'd like to add. The ads on the sides of city streets are illuminated at night, such as the one in the photo. You can see that the poster is lit from behind, this makes it legit enough for me.

the kanji.
anything looks cooler when you add kanji to it and that's why i'm suspicious.
the lights do look pretty legit though.
i said leaning towards fake...i'm not saying it is yet.
a location would calm down my suspicions though.
if he's from Compton...hell i'll drive down there right now and scope it out...but it think he just loves Band of Brothers

as i do.

It doesn't seem that unbelievable if you consider it's likely being displayed in Japan which immediately explains the Kanji. Compton can also be a surname.

The exact same thing happened when the poster was first seen at Frank & Son's.
I concur that it seems legit and that it appears the advertising campaign may have begun.
Huge River Monster/Big River Monster... hmm , I think I'll wait for the translation.

kyodaina - huge, enormous, gigantic, massive
Not the exact translation, still waiting for that, have not found the last symbol.
So it has something to do with something enormous.
It's a real poor spot to put the lettering, right over the destroyed gap in the skyscrapers.

Buck Compton was one of the WWII soldiers featured in Band of Brothers . The real Buck Compton is still alive...I don't think this is him.
