New music on the website

I don't know how this applies to the game, or if it does, but there are two new sound clips on the website.

The clubs main menu with 2C on it plays "If I only had a brain" and the diamonds main menu with 2D on it plays "If I only had a heart."

Is this a clue?

the Two of Clubs tends to think more with his heart, whereas the Two of Diamonds comes across very cold and calculating -- he thinks with his head, not his emotions.

That's what I'm gleaning from it, anyway. Although, I'm sure if you asked them, they'd probably say it was an Ace poking fun at them. Smile

lol

That makes sense (based on what I've seen of both of them) and is actually pretty funny.

I wonder who did it, and if it was an Ace like you said.

I just went back and listened again after you said that. That's really funny. The sound was on and my roommate said, "Hey, Wizard of Oz!"

Personally, I think it may be a further statement about the balance of all 4 suits, and them leading into one another. Unless this is a "look right" to "go left", then I'll be interested to see if the spades are proclaiming that there's no place like home.

Also, can I make just a quit statement about earworms...because I really don't know how I feel that everyone at my house for thanksgiving seems to be taking turns sub-consciously whistling this freakin' tune because I'm sure I was shortly after this was found. Damn you, get outta my head!

granted others have had far more interaction with the characters than i have and i can only base my interactions of the past three days, but somehow 2D didn't come across as cold and calculating to me. Someone who has spent the better part of a week arguing the art has value in and of itself and against the need to intellectualize it to give it judgment or mean seems far from cold to me. rather, i took this as the very description he would give to the art critic themselves, so i find a touch of irony that someone would describe him with these characteristic of heartlessness even though after reading analogwatch's thoughts, i agree that makes sense. i was initially trying to figure out a rationale.

If as a.w suggested the aces have placed the song snippets there. perhaps they are pointing out that as deuces or drones they are missing critical pieces necessary to make them whole individuals, not to mention of our puzzle. Though I might contend that just as in the Wizard of OZ, the notion that the deuces are somehow deficient as individuals will be proven false, if it was ever the point in the first place.

I'm loving this game but out of town tomorrow and suspect the short break will do me good.

He doesn't come across that way to me, either, but to most of the people he does. He thinks very very carefully about what he has to say, and will only speak if it truly contributes. He doesn't use emotion in his reasonings, thus "If I only had a heart."

Just my thoughts though, like I said Smile

I agree Analogwatch. Knowing them the way I do, I think it is all in fun. I think it is really quite funny actually.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm reminded that there's an aspect of all this that we have to remember. Just because someone is of a certain "suit", doesn't mean they're completely devoid of the other aspects. Remember, this is about balance, even though by nature we have our strengths and weaknesses.
I think it's impossible to to embody Art without emotions, or a "heart" if you will. Honestly, 2D does give the impression that he's a cold person, because as an art suit, one on one interaction is probably not his primary area of expression. An artist will speak through their work. Yes, he does choose his words very carefully, but I don't think it's because of an absence of emotion. It just sounds contradictory for the art suit, IMO.
So, my semantics question to the panel;
What can you express, verbally or non-verbally, that's not an emotion?
