2C called me Monday. I forgot to post, but he wanted to repeat the same ideas in Analogwatch's call. He said all the cards reveal will vary greatly in tone and content. He wanted to be sure we all understood this.

Whoooa
A long chat with Jonah

I was called by the Two of Clubs tonight and we chatted for a good while about many aspects of SilverLadder, the passengers in general, the coming year, and the kind of attitude the deck is looking for within people.

When this was all conceived, they predicted who would be most likely to become interested and take something away from the experience and so far it has been spot on, and one of their biggest problems was finding a way to get the attention of those people. What was on SilverLadder before 11/11 was just noise for the most part, it was meant to draw a crowd more or less. Keep that in mind.

One of the most important things he told me was that each card is it's own separate piece of the larger picture, and if someone is here only for the duration of a handful of random cards they'll still be able to take something away from the experience. While each card is part of the larger picture, each card is a picture in and of itself that is equally significant in what it has to say. Do not idolize any individual card and do not abandon SilverLadder because you haven't enjoyed what the previous two or three cards have had to say. Come back when things interest you, be inspired by what they have to say, and understand that not every card is going to appeal to what you stand for and what you're into. Every card up to but not including the aces will have a little bit more to say about the larger picture, but no card is more vital than another. Jonah went on to say that the gravity and significance of what the Aces will have to say will quite likely lead to some interesting realizations and epiphanies in certain passengers. That being said, no card is the end all be all and no card will say anything more important than another one since they are all equally essential. Think of this like a themed art gallery with each separate card being an individual artist with individual thoughts and works to show us.

A little hint he gave (and yes I pushed for details to no prevail) about the coming cards is that the simplicity that will come with the Two of Diamonds might be lost on a lot of people. The Two of Spades is going to be quite interesting but "is in a world of her own". The things being said and they way they are presented by Jonah will probably appeal to the same people that Jane/2H will just from what little he has seen of what she's bringing to the stage as well as the way they interact together.

Something to think about that he said was that we define things through labels. While I personally hate referring to this as a game, other people call it a game since it's what they're familiar with. That's the key--We define things in our world based on our previous experiences and backgrounds, and as a result there literally is no right answer but there are hundreds of equally correct ones. SilverLadder cannot be defined. An example he gave was that while some of the more artistic minded people may talk about what feelings and emotions a butterfly may evoke within a person, other people may be more comfortable defining it through scientific terms. Other people may just call it a butterfly and that is enough to keep them content.

We discussed at length what kinds of traits they're looking for in passengers, but noted that they understand everyone is different and are fully aware and supportive of everyone's differences. The deck appreciates laid-back enthusiasm and casual discussions of meanings instead of worrying that things won't be solved fast enough. Let SilverLadder inspire you to do things. Different people will be inspired different ways. Not only can SilverLadder inspire art, but it can also inspire playlists, games, recipes, and anything else you can think of. Let the spirit of SilverLadder facilitate your personal growth within your own world and within the group through whatever you enjoy doing. Yes, WHATEVER you enjoy doing.

He also asked a few simple favors of the passengers.

First, PLEASE stick to one or two aliases in the game. They're keeping a database of contact information and if you switch names or emails too frequently you're just complicating their lives. Which brings me to my next point...

Second, PLEASE remember these cards are people who have lives to live and personal burdens to bare. They do not have the time to answer tons of questions from new people that have already been answered previously, if you have a question then ask someone who has been here longer after searching the Wiki and the Forum for the answer first. These people are facilitators, not game pieces.

Third, PLEASE do not become obsessed with minute details. You do not have to be on the IRC every night, you do not have to be on the forum constantly, you do not need to live your life around SilverLadder. Each card is another week, what is posted sunday will exist in the records later on for analysis and will likely still be on the site by the end of the week anyway. Don't worry if you go on vacation, you're still an appreciated and loved passenger who will still take away lots from the experience. Also, don't be needy for attention and don't be like "OMG JONAH I LOVE YOU" when he enters the chat. Yes, he said this. Think before you speak, and if you're asking questions make sure they haven't already been asked. Again, don't be needy for attention, and don't "try to get noticed". What will get you noticed? Brilliant thoughts, witty deductions, and interesting propositions.

For those of you searching for SL trivia that's not important to the game, Jonah and I also chatted a bit about how thinks being a teacher would appeal to him, especially if it were teaching through discussion groups. We also discussed our Meyer's Briggs labels, he's an ENFJ. He also said that he was more conservative of a person as a kid and thinks more with his heart as he gets older. Oh, also, all the cards have notebooks that they keep track of things in, but I'm sure we've assumed that already haha.

That's what I've been doing, I check only the stuff I believe is important. For example, phone calls, just in case. I don't check IRC chat logs, though.

Remember we've got a whole year, people. Don't be nervous.

I got to talk to 2c tonight...

It was for a short time period (I was at work) and I did get to apologize for the hang-up. (I can scratch that off of my "things to do before I die" list) He asked me if I had any questions... "No" I said "I pretty much just go with the flow"

Then we talked about Newsboys and some music we were both familar with and stated that "Some others in the deck are into Third Day and Newsboys"

He also told me he wasn't sure that he was going to shuffled back into the deck or as the other deuces speak if he'll be silenced. then he told me to keep the positive attitude up in the group and to keep doing what I'm doing... (whatever that means.)

I left him with this... "You're the White Rabbit, right? ... You'll be back... I read the book( Alice In Wonderland) and you'll be back from time to time."

And that was pretty much it.

Remember, the last thing he said to me when we met was "I'm leaving because I'm late."

"... I'm late, for a very important date. No time to say hello -- Goodbye! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" I believe is how it went in the Disney version. Smile

Also, in IRC tonight, that topic came up -- "who is the white rabbit, Jonah?" and I mentioned that it had to be him, since I drew him as such, and he sent me a private message saying "You know who the white rabbit is, silly."

So I got a phone call, from "Unknown Number" at 11:11 this morning. Normally I'd be skeptical, but considering it was at 11:11 AM... it sounds like it's related.

Now, it woke me up, so I was a bit... disoriented (lol) and didn't get to my phone until it went to voicemail. The great thing about it is I can show you all what the voicemail was! Very Happy

Keep in mind, this is me shoving my computer mic against my phone speaker to record. Enjoy. Smile

(edit) k, apparently attaching a .wma won't work... I uploaded it to rapidshare for download... here

Thank you! Very Happy

The thing is, it sounds familiar to me, too. I can't place it, and it's driving me crazy.
