I don't know a ton of Japanese, but I know enough that I can say that is totally a recipe for something.

You guys still owe me beer and nachos for making me look like a douche. Now my Japanese buddy is going to think I'm obsessed with some strange Japanese cuisine when all I was looking for was some cool 1-18-08 crap. Great...

Sorry about the multiple posts; I keep having to find different textbooks.

Second sentence- (kanji "ima") (kanji I don't know) no o i shi (kanji) wo go (kanji) (kanji) shi ma su.

Okay, "ima" means "now." "oishi" means "delicious." The wonr ender "-masu" implies doing something. I'd say this sentence is saying something like "now you will learn to make this delicious meal" but don't quote me on that!

^ Oh please don't! I know about as much Japanese as a Japanese kindergartner; I'm SO not an authority on the language and I don't want rabid 11808ers chewing me out for mistranslating.

Third sentence- (kanji) zu (kanji) ya shi te i ta da i te ku da sa i ne!

... I got nothing on this one. "Yashitei" feels familiar but I can't recall what, if anything, it is. "kudasai ne" may be "please," but since I don't know the rest of the sentence I'm not sure. ;-;

Okay, no we're at the list of ingridents, which I can barely read.

bolded part - (kanji) na shi* (kanji) mu ne (kanji "niku")
next part - (kanji) (kanji) ni [katto] shi ta ma no
last part - 2 (kanji)

* - Don't freak out! The hiragana here do say "na" and "shi," but it's NOT the Slusho bot. If it were referring to an actual nashi, it would be written in kanji. The hirigana here just help string the sentence together.

bolded part says something about meat ("niku" is "meat"). The second pat has katakana [katto], and since katakana is used for English words, I'm going to assume it means "cut." Perhaps referring to the type of meat cut you need. And you need two of whatever meat cut you get, from the looks of it.

Hi... I just joined (I guess that's obvious). But anyways.. I live in Japan, and I can translate it if anyone minds waiting a few minutes. ^^ It *is* a recipe, by the way. Sort of. It's like if a chef on a tv show wrote a recipe to give to his audience.

Hold on a few, please..

Second ingridient-

bolded part - so u me n
next part - 10 [o n su]

I don't know what "soumen" is, but you'll need ten ounces (pretty sure the katakana "onsu" means "ounces.")

Third ingridient -

bolded part - [ku re so n]
next part - (kanji) (kanji) ri ni shi ta ma no
last part - 1/2 [kappu]

No idea what "kureson" is, but since it's in katakana, it's most likely a non-Japanese thing. The second part, no clue what that is. "Kappu" = "cup." So 1/2 cup.

I've sent the image to three native Japanese speakers I know. Considering it's 11pm here and they are real people with normal jobs, I doubt I'll get a response before tomorrow afternoon.

At a glance it does look like a recipe for the non-native speakers. What's got my attention is what's on the bottom right... what are the characters immediately before the "3912"?

Will advise when I get an answer.
