Letters of the alphabet (pointed out by someone else way earlier in this thread IIRC):

3 = C
9 = R (9th letter from end)
1 = A
2 = B

It looks to me like maybe the moster/little moster is attacking this chef. The news has put out a broadcast saying that the reason they are atticking the city is because of the special ingredient, also found in this recipe (or so i was told). This chef is just trying to save himself.

What's the idea behind using the 9th letter from the end? Seems a bit tenuous.

If you replace 2 with the 2nd from the end, you get CRAY, as in Crayfish...

Thank you for checking us out! We are introducing this week's tasty dish.
Make sure you eat it cold!

* Skinless chicken breast 2 halves
* Soumen noodles 10 oz
* Watercress julienne 1/2 cup
* Sliced radish 1/2 cup
* Shiitake 1/2 cup
* Chicken broth 1/3 cup
* Sake 2 tablespoons
* Sugar 1 teaspoon
* Kaitei no mitsu 1 pinch

In a small sauce pan, stir together 1/3 cup water, chicken stock, sake and sugar. Bring to a boil then chill until cold. Grill chicken breast 8 min on both sides then also chill. Boil the soumen for 3 min and leave in cold water until chilled. Spread watercress, shiitake and radish around the soumen. Slice the chicken breast thin and fan on top of the soumen. Add the Seabed's Nectar to the sauce before serving. Pour the sauce generously.

Go, go, delicious chef!
#3912

So far this is the only picture on 1-18-08.com without a time/date stamp

The image's difference in color on the back suggests it is actually a printed card, instead of a photograph

The number 3912 is a code for the human gene LAMB1

Everything in that post is a rehash of old info, and the name on the post changed from when it first showed up. This usually means the account used was a dupe created by a troll or some such - but the post count remains at one. It's also possible the original post was deleted and the person created another account and put it up again.

Sometimes the moderation of this forum is so sublime, people just flat out miss it.

I don't think that they usually delete posts, from what I gather. And to be fair, this subforum is little more than a collection of insanity at this point, lay off the poor moderators. Though I am not sure how the moderation of the forum qualifies as "sublime," but okay.

OK, I know this all happened months ago, but I need to ask... has anyone else noticed that if you look at the source for "--.html" at 1-18-08.com there's a variable in the javascript called "phct" followed by an 8? There are 8 photos right now, and my boyfriend thought it might stand for "photocount".

I tried downloading the code to my computer and fiddling with the variable to make it "9", but alas, no 9th picture appeared. Smile

Anyone else know javascript better than me? (not hard to accomplish) Or am I gonna get a trout in the face?

One thing I did notice, is that the phct variable is changeable if you deploy it on your own local webserver. For instance. I have it deployed on my personal webserver here: http://visuallyimplied.com/clover

you will notice that if you check the source, I only have the 'phct' variable set to 3.

What does this mean?

Nothing. Since I can't get the actual images appear, and I haven't quite figured out how to finagle that just yet. I'll take another look at it later, and if I come across anything I will be sure to post it up.

That is not a javascript variable. The code is a clue as to what is going to happen to everyone in the pictures.

When MGP finally appears, they are all "phct".

That variable is telling flash how many images to call up. It's using relative code, so manipulating it won't work to show more pictures.
