hey every1 i just registered after reading up a lot of stuff on 1-18-08, these forums and that new viral website tagruato.jp. i really think (and hope) this site is legit. it all seems to make sense considering the "clues" on that site. deep sea genetic research and more...

on http://www.tagruato.jp/headlines.php?story=news_07_07_29 however, it says Tagruato CEO Ganu Yoshida will be honored with the Khodorkovsky Award for innovation. Google searches for this "award for innovation" remained unsuccessful.

the biggest clue for me YET is this news article:

http://www.tagruato.jp/headlines.php?story=news_07_06_02

Quote:
• Tagruato Lions win Little League Championship
The Tagruato Lions Little League Team are victors once again! For the third straight summer, the Slusho! fueled Lions became league champs after defeating the Nishio Dragons by way of forfeit. The game was called midway through the 4th inning, with the Lions already leading 18-0 thanks to four homeruns by slugging first baseman, Fudo Goto, 11.

"I hit the ball far," said a jubilant Fudo following the game.

Lions pitcher Masakuzo Endo (8-0) had nine strike outs and thirteen hit batsman. Nishio coach Geoff Jingle was forced to forfeit after he looked to his bench and found no Dragons brave enough to step to the plate.

slusho seems to make the players strong and notice all the number dropping?? 18-0,11

I'd just like to make a point about "Can't drink just six."

Seeing as this ARG has so far not stretched beyond the bounds of reality too far (i.e. being fairly realistic in terms of human behavior etc.), it seems to me highly unlikely that they would imagine a situation where if someone drinks less than six Slusho! drinks that something bad would happen.

Seriously, if Slusho! is huge in Japan, and Japan's population is obviously very large, the likely hood that _someone_ has at sometime drank less than six would obviously happen eventually.

I think it's pure IG marketing... a throwback to Pringles "Once you pop, you can't stop" if you will.

If anything, based on what I've heard about JJ and the Lost fanboys, they're reading unfiction, and maybe wrote the number 7 in relation to the old people just to fuck with everyone. :')

Not everything referenced IG is associated with OOG reality. I think they tend to steer clear from most real world connections that would make the ARG seem obviously unreal. (i.e. it could be plausible the award is simply something us in the USA wouldn't be able to find readily on the 'net, where-as if he was up for a Nobel peace prize, it'd be pretty obvious it was a fake).

I know that it's all fiction to begin with as does everyone obviously, but I think they have done really well to create a sense of reality which makes it all so much more intense as the real-time date arrives!

yea i know what you mean. i doubt you wouldnt find any google result on the award though even if it was more of a local thing (within the US).

still pretty good shit how they worked out everything. really enjoying this sort of marketing! Laughing

does anyone remember *lol* who 1st found the site? like who was the 1st one to throw this link on the imdb forums, /film or even these forums? might have been someone involved in the whole project to start with(?).

the contact details on the website are invalid as well. http://tagruato.jp/contact.php

Quote:
As someone who lived in Japan for quite some time, specifically the Tokyo area, this address is invalid. For starters, the postal code does not exist. Second, there is no Palace Plaza in Marunouchi. Lastly, the phone number is missing a couple of digits before it could be remotely valid.

Tagruato.jp?

Actually two people here followed some clues to find it.

Forum member Dr. Awkward found the following review (posted Sept 24th) after googling "kaitei no mitsu", as found in the Japanese text on the back of the new picture.

Then forum member MrToasty found the Tagruato website (Tagruato is mentioned in the above review), I'm assuming by simply typing in Tagruato.jp (because Tagruato brings up nothing in google for me).

Good one jawbone.
The site is quite sloppy with their unused site pictures.
One thing I never noticed before is the Tagruato Logo on the floor...very cool detail.

Hip adult drinkers have begun concocting deliciously intoxicating alcoholic mix drinks starring Slusho!

sounds like what they were drinking at the party. (found this on the tagruato slusho page)

might explain a small connection to the movie.

would finally seem to legitimize the speculation that Rob may be going to work for Slusho.

It definitely seems to be pointing this way -- and if the producers didn't somehow work in a monster.com tie in here, they have really missed the boat.

Re: Rob will probably work for them

It seemed to me from reading that the employees aren't really "happy", but are too high on Slusho! to realize that they're working in a sweatshop.

This statement sounds pretty ominous/threatening:

Quote:
"In the past, the reputation of Tagruato has been sullied by reports of mistreating their employees," announced Ganu. "I have personally seen to it that no such claims will ever be made again."

And then followed by this:
Quote:
Workers cited their pride in the Tagruato Cares foundation and their card allowing for half-off Slusho! at any participating vendors as some of their most favorable factors.

Seems to suggest that giving everyone discounted Slusho solved all of their labor problems, because all of a sudden everyone became Slusho! Happy!

Along with the mentions of slusho and the WHOIS data, that really just further proves that the site is IG since it the company doesn't actually exist.

just throwing this out there

i was looking through the investors area and saw in an 'article' that they were buying new ships or something along those lines. its not really that important. but i was googling some of the names and whatnot and i google Watatsumi.. because in the article they mentioned a Watatsumi Shipbuilding Corp. or something.

what came up was somewhat interesting. there were some links on there about something called the watatsumi-no-kami, or the sea-god. i couldnt find much of anything else... and this has already probably been brought up. but oh well. just thought it was interesting.

力の手

Is this kanote? or kanoshu? Why is this in Japanese when nothing else on that page is? Seems like a big hint.

Also, "ka" is in katakana (i.e. foreign word)-- could this be the Egyptian "ka", meaning a person's "life-force" that is Egyptians believe was "sustained through food and drink"?
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_soul

Also, some new characters mentioned on the Tagruato site:

Danno Jo: COO of Tagruato and Ganu Yoshida's cousin and "right hand man"

Rafu (Ralph?) Funaki: Chairman of the Future Energy Development Committee

Suzume Soga: Company spokeswoman

Kano Yasuri: head of investor relations

Kantaro Tagruato: company founder, who killed himself right before the old Tagruato company went bankrupt.

How much does this look like the Hanso Foundation site?? Right down the the shadowy pictures of the CEOs, suggestions of unethical misconduct and the different symbol/logos for each company. Not that I'm complaining, I'll take anything at this point, but someone in TPTB really has it in for big business.
