Funnily enough Futura Bold is a type of font. Probaly just a coincidence.

(Humor) What if the monster is, in fact, climate change!

Sorry about multiple posting but i just noticed something about the charity events. The one in the article mentions giving slusho to elderly people. The other two mentioned blankets and a circus trip.

Its interesting how the slusho one is specifically using a brand name slusho, while the others use unrelated products.

Maybe someone can connect this to something else.

I'm sure of you have checked out Dr. Takahashi's page by now:

Lots of talk about using deep sea ingredients for research into curing cancer and the like. Also lots of talk about the rather lengthy process of screening these compounds and possible cures for toxicity in humans.
Quote:
If it's a new compound, somebody would go about studying whether or not it could be a useful drug. So for example, using the screen, we might know that the compound kills pathogenic bacteria, but it wouldn't be a useful drug if it's too toxic to people, or gets broken down in the body too quickly, things like that! This might involve a "clinical trial": Trying the drug on real people after it's been through plenty of tests and development!

I wonder if they might be doing some rather unorthodox/unethical trials using they're elderly friends:

nice - that's a good twist. Like Ben Stiller in Happy Gilmore, but not funny. Smile

This convinces me that there's some sort of drug element in Slusho!. Who gets a drink put directly into their bloodstream if they can't even taste it? Because that there's something in it which "makes [them] feel young again".

Just grasping at straws here, but maybe it's some sort of anti-aging drug? A bit of a stretch, but maybe the Fountain of Youth?

I would call it evil, but has anyone tried to look up the number on the contact page? I imagine it's listed somehow in phone records in Japan if it's a real number. If it is listed, and it's named as being Tagruato's number, then I'd say it's worth calling it - if you can afford it.

See? Told ya! Stop looking at the character's lives; follow the "odd man out"!

What's got my attention is Yoshida Medical Research... A genetic research company.

Quote:
Treatment applications for Alzheimer's disease, cystic fibrosis, and herpes are also under consideration.

Thank God! They're researching a cure for herpes! Don't panic, Jamie, there's still hope for ya!

YMR's web page points right back to the same site. But the "day in the life" is an interesting read.

Actually, a lot of links point back to the home page. Even the sitemap. Kinda looks as haphazard as when Slusho first started. Site might not be done yet.

They have all the bases covered:
- Slusho
- A generic research company
- A technology company to reach the depths of the Earth
- A... er... wax company.

Chuai says "Opening September 2007". Guess they're behind a bit... For the record, it's the closest one to New York and also the largest (workforce of 355).

I think that's on the right track - in the "Slusho Ices Competitors" newsbit (under Investor News), it said:

Quote:
As the company completes comprehensive testing on their wonder ingredient, which is expected to reveal unmatched health benefits, stock prices in Slusho! are bound to continue to rise.

and, a bit earlier...

Quote:
the company is currently working on the Slusho! Sea Freeze, a frozen pop that will be available for purchase in your local market and will contain the company's healthy special ingredient.

Whoever wrote that uses a few too many exclamation points for my liking... Very Happy

I called the number on the contact page... It's in Japanese then in English...

It's a lion.....

Anyone else think the story about the little league team is a poke at people claiming the line in the trailer started "It's a lion...."?
