I made a Google map of all the locations mentioned:

  • Garbanzos, Norway
  • Rounded Corner Bistro, Bonaire
  • Brodullo's (I couldn't find a location for this)
  • Upper Kalskag, AK
  • Old Crow, YT

I don't see any pattern or anything, and as mentioned, only one of the locations is near a drilling station.

There would have to be some sort of long term testing done for Slusho to slip by the FDA and enter the US market. We know that Slusho is the second most popular beverage in Asian countires, which means the secret ingredient has been around for a while and testing has taken place.

Actually, dietary supplements don't go through the same sort of testing as pharmaceuticals - so being used as a food additive declared as a supplement would allow them to sell the DSI without rigorous testing easily. Consider the kinds of ingredients you find in Sobe and other drinks. In Asia much of medicine is less regulated, and this being an international company based in Japan it can declare it's desire to study and treat the DSI as a drug all it wants. They just can't market it as one in the US.

Additionally, their slogan, "you can't drink just six", basically begs people to consume mass quantities. Most corporations wouldn't encourage their consumers to over-indulge in something that would be unsafe out of the fear of legal ramifications and the subsequent bad PR. Legal ramifications and bad PR are the last thing a company that will soon be one of the wealthiest in the world would really want.

Tell that to Microsoft. Laughing

The restaurant reviews are definitely...strange.

Who the hell talks/writes like that? Unbelievably obnoxious purple prose...and in every review, Macdooble "envisions" himself as a conqueror or an animal (deer, caribou) -- is that part of the "Secret Ingredient" effect?

And he's definitely a world-traveler...he eats in Alaska and the Yukon Territory one day, the Caribbean the next, Norway the next, and god only knows where/what Brodullo's is.

...If there are any clues in the reviews other than the one for Garbanzo's, I'm damned if I can make heads or tails of it.

"and in every review, Macdooble "envisions" himself as a conqueror or an animal (deer, caribou)"

Isnt one of the SLUSHO animals a deer, or horse or some other four legged hoofed animal? How does the reviewer describing himself as such not make sense?

An anagram for "Vernon MacDooble" is "Bacon Demon Lover"...

Has anyone thought that maybe Tagruato is hiding the fact that Kaitei no Mitsu has these strange side effects? Perhaps the corporation is studying the substance by performing a sort of illegal drug test on an unsuspecting public through Slusho.

 Toes??
Lebowski?

He joined Menuism on August 27th 2007 and claims to be from 'Old Crow' and eats in and around Upper Kalskag, AK and Old Crow, YT - but with no reviews of anything there.

In his Rounded Corner Bistro, Bonaire (Sept 17th 2007)

He cancels his meeting with the High Chancellor and leaves his stately manor to go like a new born deer, and then later a schoolboy, to eat here.

Quote:
I felt a drop of water splash upon my toe, and for a moment was concerned that the rain would sully my outdoor enjoyment of the treats.

Toe. Later then.

Quote:
The next sip warmed the soul of my future self, and I could sense that my impending arthritis was no longer of consequence thanks to this scrumptious ambrosia.

Hints towards therapeutic relief, similar to that which Slusho! claims to have. Also an acorn falls into his coffee, which normally he'd be furious about, but on this occasion just feels relaxed.

----------------------------------------------------------

Within his Brodullo's (Unknown location, but he has heard it's adverts on the radio - also not in his stately manor due to his German engineered car being envied within his complex) review (September 17th 2007) he finishes off by saying that his tablecloth drawing was being tacked to the wall by the waiter 'thing'. In this drawing he is clipping his toenails before a roaring crowd. Toes again

The New England chowder he is eating also spills onto a drawing of him eating a Trojan horse. - topical to say the least!

In Garbanzos, Sandefjode, Norway (24th September 2007)

Quote:
I felt like I could destroy the cosmos using only the patch of flesh where my pinkie toe used to live

Toe again (or lack thereof). And plenty of quotes with how powerful he feels splashed around.

The only reoccurring element I can find is that of a toe. Sure the coffee making him feel less arthritic, the Trojan horse drawing and the constant belly references are there. But toe references?

Anyone have any speculation upon what a toe means to a person?

I'm thinking balance, Lebowski, 'All the way home' and the like but is there something significant I'm over looking or am I being a paranoid schizo?

EDIT: Also an MVaughn from LA, California has posted his own review of Garbanzos saying it is rubbish on Oct1 - probably OOG but you never know.

Isn't the deer on the Slusho site "thinking" of a hammer also?

Hammer = conqueror ... just some thoughts, what do you think?

Maybe Macdooble stands for McDonalds and the monster really is Ronald McDonald. JJ did say this would be our monster, lol - and McDonalds is American enough.

Anyway I am slightly intrigued by the toe references and his lack of a pinkie toe, lol.

Thanks to Dennis for the leg work. Was thinking about MacDooble earlier today as a thread between the threads. Some of the info concerning our IG reviewer. Old Crow, Yukon Terr. is supposedly his home, possibly place of birth. Old Crow is a small community of approx. 250-260 people, only accessible by air travel (OC Airport) The main source of income is Caribou, hunting, skinning, and the sundries that they produce. Old Crows main concern is the effects of Oil Drilling and its impact on the local Caribou herd numbers. Also seems that one of the regions claims to fame is the fact that human modified bones(carvings, tools, etc.) were found and carbon-dated, and they were apparently made over 25 to 40 thousand years ago. Quite a bit longer than what is generally thought of as human habitation in North America.

A reviewer who's origins might be tied in with an ancient civilization.
Said civilizations way of life being affected by corporate development, to the point of possible eradication.
Locale is sub-arctic, average mean temp is -50 to 30 degrees celsius.
JJ mentioned that he wanted this to be a creature tied to America (read, North America?)
DSN is found in deep-sea climes, extreme low temps.
Maybe nothing, (OOG site Slushozoom.com) contains a photo of a headstone with the date 1868. Two days ago, a team of divers apparently found the wreckage of a vessel off the coast of Alaska. They reported the find two days ago, but actually kept the information from the press for close to a year. Coincidental, for certain.
MacDooble is very close to being a complete megalomaniac. Just listen to the guy, he verges on madness with some of his writings.

I'm writing this to see if anyone can connect some of these dots. it's like something is there, just out of reach. Frustrating.

The apparent date of sinking of the ship found off of Alaska is 1868. sorry for the omission.
