I looked, but didn't find this mentioned anywhere. I don't know what it means, if anything, but it struck me as curious. Mr. MacDooble refers to his "impeccable mustache" in each of the articles.
From "Chowhound Post, Breakfast & Lunch choices in Bonaire":

Quote:
She offered a sample shot of her choosing, and handed me a tiny cup of the house espresso. I brought the drink under my impeccable mustache, blew gently twice, and took a sip. The espresso warmed my very soul, not just in that moment, but back in time to when I was a boy...

And, from "Comments about Brodullo's":

Quote:
I couldn't resist, and lifting the plate to my mouth, took a large bite from the side. Unfortunately, this caused the chowder to flow freely from the gap and spread upon the part of the table cloth where I had drawn myself eating the Trojan horse. I frowned beneath my impeccable mustache.

My frown, however, was quickly replaced by a blissful squeal...

And, from "Something New Where It's Least Expected":

Quote:
The first course caught me off guard. A rice salad, surely not Garbanzos typical fare. Apparently nothing worth this fuss, I frowned under my impeccable mustache. Curiosity and my trust in Chef Nakamura got the best of me, and I took a bite...

It may mean nothing - it could just be a random idiosyncrasy of MacDooble's, but I thought it was worth pointing out. Sorry if this has already been mentioned/discussed.

In his Rounded Corner Bistro, Bonaire (Sept 17th 2007)

He cancels his meeting with the High Chancellor and leaves his stately manor to go like a new born deer, and then later a schoolboy, to eat here.

Quote:
I felt a drop of water splash upon my toe, and for a moment was concerned that the rain would sully my outdoor enjoyment of the treats.

Toe. Later then.

Quote:
The next sip warmed the soul of my future self, and I could sense that my impending arthritis was no longer of consequence thanks to this scrumptious ambrosia.

Hints towards therapeutic relief, similar to that which Slusho! claims to have. Also an acorn falls into his coffee, which normally he'd be furious about, but on this occasion just feels relaxed.

----------------------------------------------------------

Within his Brodullo's (Unknown location, but he has heard it's adverts on the radio - also not in his stately manor due to his German engineered car being envied within his complex) review (September 17th 2007) he finishes off by saying that his tablecloth drawing was being tacked to the wall by the waiter 'thing'. In this drawing he is clipping his toenails before a roaring crowd. Toes again

The New England chowder he is eating also spills onto a drawing of him eating a Trojan horse. - topical to say the least!

In Garbanzos, Sandefjode, Norway (24th September 2007)

Quote:
I felt like I could destroy the cosmos using only the patch of flesh where my pinkie toe used to live

Toe again (or lack thereof). And plenty of quotes with how powerful he feels splashed around.

The only reoccurring element I can find is that of a toe. Sure the coffee making him feel less arthritic, the Trojan horse drawing and the constant belly references are there. But toe references?

Anyone have any speculation upon what a toe means to a person?

I'm thinking balance, Lebowski, 'All the way home' and the like but is there something significant I'm over looking or am I being a paranoid schizo?

-m0r

EDIT: Also an MVaughn from LA, California has posted his own review of Garbanzos saying it is rubbish on Oct1 - probably OOG but you never know.

Don't forget about "my impeccable mustache". He says it all 3 reviews.
That and "toe"....

Been spending all day at work searching on MacDooble & Ganu clues, Havent found anything new. The secret is hidden in MacDooble's mustache.

I like that thought of Macdooble as "MacDouble"....

...but instead of looking for double *letters* in words, what if "double" was referring to people...???

Ever notice how many of the pics in the Slusho 7's pic pages don't *really* look like the same actor/actress?

*The blonde Lena looks *nothing* like Lizzie Caplan, the dark-haired Lena; and notice the weird last photo that mentions "switching faces with Nicolas Cage."
*The drunk Beth in the pics with 3 other girls looks nothing like the familiar pic of Odette Yustman on the beach, or the one with the funny face drinking from a straw.
*Rob even looks different in the pinata pics.
*Hawk looks nothing like either of the two guys in the pool pic.
*Hud looks different in every photo, but it could be because he's stoned to the gills.
*Lil looks very different in the pics at the restaurant.
*And Jamie looks different in virtually every photo...and there's been a long-standing argument on this board about whether or not the blonde "Rob's awesome" girl in the trailer is supposed to be Jamie Lascano, even though she looks nothing like the Jamie from the JLT videos.

You may be onto something about "doubles." But I'm thinking "double" in terms of people...like doppelgangers...or maybe, if this movie contains multiple retellings of the same story (as I'm inclined to believe), different actors may play the same role (look up "I'm Not There," the new movie about Bob Dylan, that features the iconic singer being played by Richard Gere (?), Heath Ledger (?), Chris Bale (?), Cate Blanchett (???), and even some young black kid (????) in different stories...)

Just kicking up dust

Have we Compared Corporate Histories and syncd a timeline? when researching a Corp's bkgnd, first thing ones does is use the corps own site, they gloat and say overwhelming things, but they are mostly half truths, of mergers/acq, subsidiaries, whatnot; and then use more costly investigative resources. Slusho and Taguano give us histories, i was searching to see if we ever did this, did we?

this is a very nepotistic corporation, figuring out the players relations and whereabouts should not be difficult. Do we think 'Danno Jo' is his full name? Is Danno Jo Yoshida, considering Cousin...Im thinking Mother's side-sibling had danno jo, considering he took over slusho, until Ganu was stoked on it again....Danno Jo may be full name, or Jo could be mom's last name (Mom's Brother) or could be danno Jo's father's name whom is unrelated...okay i feel like im on Springer, where is the huge bald guy with the small head? maybe he is grumpypants?

Maybe MacDooble is Teddy, doing the research for Tagruato, posing as a food critic. Possibly why he had to leave Jamie. Just a thought....

I doubt Jamie's boyfriend would write like he did in that review.

MacDooble isn't well versed, his bizzare, meandering internal dialoge is full of offbeat mistakes:

Fawn tails go up when they are scared, as a signal to other deer to run;
Fallen angels are evil, not heavenly;
Robin Hood is in Sherwood, not Buckleshire forest;
Magnolia trees do not have acorns;
Brodullo's has a "marble-laden" entrance, but crayons, paper tablecloths and plasticised menus;
Napoleon didn't discover America;
Clams don't have pearls;

The guys is a blowhard in my opinion. This stuff HAS to have clues in it, or the clue is that MacDooble is not very bright!

Don't know why I didn't see this before - in the article where MacDooble eats the mysterious Special prepared by Chef Nakamura (w/Tagruato-supplied ingredients), he says at the end:

"I wouldn't call the Special delicious, or even tasty. But I would call it an experience. A culinary experience whose shadow has yet to leave my mind, and has left me craving more."

That's odd. It doesn't taste particularly good. I've been assuming it's delicious b/c Slusho kept insisting it was. Earlier in the article, MacDooble describes the flavor as something totally new to him, and he remarks that he's tasted just about every flavor around the globe - he describes the flavor as "inscrutable." He also says "it was as if I tasted the food not just with my tongue buds but with my very soul."

So, it's not tasty, but it is a totally novel taste sensation, and beyond that... I guess someone should tell Huey Lewis we found that "new drug" he's been whining about. Smile

Just a wee bit of a clarification...
Dutch would be Holland, as in the Netherlands. Scandinavia doesn't properly include Holland, which is known traditionally for it's wooden shoes. Denmark borders Holland to the north, and is truly Scandinavian, but there's a pretty significant bit of water dividing Norway from Denmark and the bulk of the rest of Europe. Norway is where the restaurant in the review is of course. Linguistically Holland's native Dutch shares some things with the Scandinavian languages, but it's got a lot of influences from German and English.

Possible dual-identity of vernon

Vernon acts big, larger than life. Also he sounds like some lame superhero talk. I am not very up to date with the Myspace pages characters, but isnt there one of the slusho!7 a big comics fan? Could be an hint.

Another weird coincidence? Most likely. But here are the last for words of his Brodullo review.

before a roaring crowd.

Reverse it: crowd roaring a before

crab
