 		My head is like some sort of void right now. I can't focus, much less play the "connect the dots" game. I think I'll just call it a night, wait for JC to return my e-mail (maybe I was too rude?) and see what happens. Gonna read all the information I can about nukes/nuclear power plants/influential people tomorrow. Perhaps bring a friend or two into the game (quite probably, I'm gonna be the only one in the forum, though...).
Can't wait for tomorrow.

Wah?!?!
Now I feel stupid -- Wah is the name of the city/town that the ordinance factory is in. I REALLY think we're right about that symbol now.

JC works for a company that is cracking some code, they are part of the CIA? They all seem to be on the up and up, except for the leak.


JC is not part of the CIA; he is most likely a talented hacker (or something) working in that Secret Room we talked about a while ago and "decoding messages from the server," i.e. intercepting communications. He came upon some sensitive information and has been recruited by Saul to help investigate Red Monday. In the latest Eschelon intercept, Saul says that JC "doesn't have the security clearance" to grant him access to the government's files.

JC realizes that this information is sensitive but in need of an Open Source Intelligence Coordination to get the information required; if this stuff doesn't get figured out, we may all be doomed.

Keep in mind that our symbol resembles the "whah" character, not the one next to it, called "wah."



I'm still a bit uncertain about this connection, seeing as this character is from an extinct alphabet and a country with no connections to either Khalid or Pakistan.

ok well i know this is alittle behind on the times BUT i just got an email from JC regarding the "Choose "this" if you accept or "that" if you decline email, well im using my campus email so he found out im going to the University of Wisconsin and he asked me about that and what i knew about cloverfield, so i told him im a music education major and this is the email i recived back from him....

If there is a connection (which is in doubt, and I'm starting to wonder if it was just wishful thinking on my part), I'd say that it was meant to be a sort of code to indicate a target or location. Whoever picked the code wanted it to be as obscure as possible, so they found an ancient, obscure alphabet.

 		Firstly, Bassa is hardly extinct. It's still used by over 350,000 people in Liberia and Sierra Leone. It's very possible that the symbol could've been referring to Wah, Pakistan, although as Cr0ybot said, the symbol actually represents the sound "whah", not "wah". That being said, it's also possible that whatever file JC pulled the symbol from was simply using the Bassa language to communicate and not sending any sort of hidden messages.

On Abdul Qadeer Khan, I found that he was on the cover of Time Magazine as "A.Q. Khan, "Merchant of Menace", the world's most dangerous nuclear trafficker" after it was discovered that Khan was running an international nuclear proliferation ring. The Pakistani government was able to confirm that Khan had supplied centrifuge parts to North Korea. The day following his public confession to running the trafficking ring (February 5, 2004), Khan was placed under house arrest but, "In July 2007, two senior government officials told the Associated Press that restrictions on Khan had been eased several months earlier, and that Khan could meet friends and relatives either at his home or elsewhere in Pakistan. The officials said that a security detail continued to control his movements." The Pakistani government has consistently denied the United States permission to interrogate Khan about his activities. It is believed that the Pakistani goverment may have known about and had connections with the nuclear trafficking ring and are neglecting to prosecute Khan as a result.
