Makes the Widmore thing a little clearer.
I don't know how to download the Widmore HTML page, but when I right-click that page and click on Properties, it shows "Created 10/2/07; Modified 10/2/07."

Also, According to Lostpedia , WidmoreRace.com is a fan-made site:

There is a new fan-created non-ABC website that is up that is connected to the race: Widmore Race Around The World.

That's the date your computer created it when you saved it.

Okay, now that I understand my computer a little better thanks to you guys , I'll go with the Widmore Race site as a fanmade for last year's Lost Experience.
Still waiting to see if colby will fess up about whether or not Rob's "message" was hoaxed.

Good detective work, as usual...but unless colby confirms or denies, I'm reserving judgment.
In the meantime, 2 questions:
1) If it's a hoax, why does the email link back to Rob's REAL site? Wouldn't it be damn hard to hijack someone's MSP to make it look like THEY were the ones who sent it instead of you?
2) Rob and/or the "hoaxer" mentions the Widmore Race..http://www.widmorerace.com/ . That site contains clear references and connects to "Lost."
It was CREATED 8/29/06....and UPDATED 10/2/07.
So either a)they've got inside info that the Race site would be updated today, or b) they're the ones who actually CREATED it last year.
i.e: JJ Abrams and Company.
Thoughts?
1.) He didn't hijack anything. Colby himself says how easy it is to save off a Myspace message as a html doc to your computer. All that is needed then is to modify the html document which can be done in any text editor. Open the doc again in a browser, take a screenshot and post it.
I'll show you in fact. Open the file I'm attaching to this post. I modified Colby's attachment so now Tom sent the message.

Well, that's a royal pisser.
Now that we've reached a breakthrough with the opening of tagruato.jp, a hoaxer comes along right when we're trying to get responses from the new "company" and makes all future emails from and/or about Tagruato circumspect...
...WTG there, Colby. WTF?

Hey colby....
Not sure I remember you from anywhere little man.... Do you live in NY? Were you at NYU?
Anyway... I'm sorry if I've forgotten you; I'm real bad with names. If you do know me then you should know that I'm already working with Tagruato... I've been with them for two months now- I started as an intern. I work with slusho and paraFun... what are you looking into? If you like... I think I could organise a meeting with Ganu... lucky for you we're pretty close. Did you say you worked on the widmore race?... I had a friend who raced in that.... Do you know Gareth?
Anyway if you want to apply just send me your resume and I'll see what I can do. They're looking for marketting roles now in paraFun more so than slusho. Also, with the new station up and running, I've been told they're looking for NY residents *if that is what you are!*.
Thanks for the message!
Rob

Hey man read ur profile... I know you've just finished your stuff with marketing and I found this on the net..... www.tagruato.jp
go to the 'slusho' section in subsidiaries... they're lookin for western marketers dude!
Listen... I know a guy who knows a guy that works with slusho over in japan.... he said they'rll b big bucks in western marketting of the drink.... the Asians are crazy over the stuff apparently.
Anyway, I've sent them an e-mail to apply myself.... they dont give much info but hopefully they'll reply soon... I told them about my work with the widmore race and alike.
Anyhoo... check it out man.... you may have a future in this sort of thing!
I think the proof of this being a fake also lies in the messages themselves. Colby doesn't claim to know Rob in this message at all and yet Rob responds as if Colby stated he knew Rob. ParaFun is spelled incorrectly twice and "organise" is how they spell "organize" in AUSTRALIA.
Furthermore, Rob wants us to believe that an intern turned marketing executive in two months at a company that will supposedly be one of the wealthiest companies in the world once their new station starts producing? That doesn't happen...or at least very rarely happens and certainly not in the time span. Who knows, perhaps Rob is the David Geffen of the Oil/marketing world. Mailroom clerk turned mogul. Either way I its not a common occurance for an intern or an junior level employee to have access to the CEO of a company, especially not one that is supposedly as large as Tagruato.

It's not that far fetched, especially if they're in the same building. I've done it before in the real world.
As for typos, that's what spellcheck is for, and that's not commonly available in a browser. Hell I know ENGLISH TEACHERS that would spell as bad without it.
We'll have to wait for corroborating evidence.

Isn't all this yeah I got an email stating...crap just more of the same 48-hours crap that can't be substantiated?
Let's stick to facts that everyone can see and have access to.
If Robs profile updates, then that's info.
If someone gets an email from Jaybrahms with all the plot and twists of the movie then that's not.

Huh? Both my browsers (Safari & FireFox) have spell check.

I spent the better part of yesterday trying to catch up and it's pretty annoying that someone would jump in just totry and throw everyone far off track. oi.
