Simple, Geddy Lee's hair looks like a lion mane. He is also rather large and yelling alot which are traits of a lion.

I think Geedy, Alex and Neal will set up a stage at the end of the movie in central park and rock so hard that the monster will be driven back into the ocean!

Its hard for them to drive the monster back in the ocean when Geddy Lee IS the monster.
