JJ Abrams and Ganu Yoshida: A Parallel Alright. Perhaps this is reaching. Perhaps this could parallel I'm going to talk about could lead to further discoveries down the road. Nevertheless, here I go.
At tagruato.com, on the Headlines page, I read the July 29th entry, and saw the following:
Ganu will accept the award at a gala ceremony on the conference's final day. "I have to give a speech," commented Ganu. "They hope for me to tell my secrets. They will get none."
The POC takes place between September 17th and 20th in Reno, Nevada.
Now look, the conference lasted four days... Comic-Con lasted four days (excluding the preview night). Comic-Con ended on July 29th, this entry was on July 29th. Ganu gave up none of his secrets. Abrams gave up none of his.
Coincidence? I have a hard time believing this is just accidental. Perhaps, in the future, Abrams will tell us something important via the persona of Ganu.
What say you all? Am I crazy?

I think there possibly could be a link between them. But I dont think it will lead to anything important. Possibly hinting that Ganu is behind whats going on in the movie, just as JJ is behind the making of it. But I seriously doubt if the link between JJ and Ganu will turn up anything related. But who knows?

The parallel seems too much to be coincidence, but I don't think it is going to be so integral to this ARG. I'm certain that in writing the Tagr site they decided to throw in that "coincidence" but we'll just have to watch JJA and GY carefully to see if there are any more clues in their speeches. Good job.

Agreed, even though i think its unlikely. It is worth looking into. Maybe we should look for any other connections in speeches between the two. Like go over the JJ transcripts.

Not a bad theory.
Ganu could be a semi-autobiographical figure. Could the Slusho Seven be representative of some of his family or circle of friends?

Thanks. You could be right. The parallel could be nothing more than an inside joke, much like the parallel between JJ Hawkins (who, I still believe, will the Cameraman character during the movie) and JJ Abrams (who is, in his own way, behind the camera) seems to be.
But still, I have a feeling about this one. It could be nothing, but after the Lost Experience, we know that even nothing means SOMETHING.

Remind me... Who are the Slusho Seven again?

Ah. Yeah. And if one looks at the Tagruato Corp. website, on the Headlines page, entry Aug. 9th:
"Tagruato's crew of Slusho! Smilers! arrived at the Ibaraki Nursing Home in Mito yesterday with a special surprise for the feeble elders on Floor 3 - Slusho! brand happy drink! The lovely ladies handed out seven drinks to each senior in any flavor they could imagine."
Seven drinks. Slusho Seven. You can't drink just six. Oh man. Any correlation?

Imho, targuato.jp has a lot of links to the "reality" behind of the Cloverfieldian fictional world. It was cool note about Ganu vs JJ Abrams (their speeches) on the beginning of this thread.
But also on imdb somebody (brettoniasam-1, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1060277/board/thread/86403469?d=86443345&p=1#86443345 ) said interesting thing about the play JJ Abrams is playing with us: in the headlines (http://tagruato.jp/headlines.php?story=news_07_06_02 ) they speak about Tagruato Lions vs. Nishio Dragons, so it could be a reference about fan battles of various hypothesis running between us (is the monster a Lion? or some reptile? etc.)
So, if we read the meta-level of the textes on tagruato.jp, we could find also a lot of hints about us. This is kind of implicite communication with us.
I found also (perhaps a speculation or uber-interpretation), the news about "almost completely new tanker fleet, with hopes of completion in early 2011" http://tagruato.jp/investors.php?story=news_07_07_02 .
What if this is announce about the completion of LOST (officially it were in later 2010 completed)?
Tagruato plans to replace the old ships with the new, better and more environementally secured ships. May it be allusion about the current disillusions and disappointments about LOST. So JJ Abrams plans to make the LOST series better and more interesting for public (environment)?
Anyway, the site is pretty interesting source not only for the movie plot.

Haha. The Lion vs Dragon tidbit is pretty clever, if that's what it was intended to refer to.
If that's the case, my statement "even nothing means something" is definitely true. I'm going to have to read, and reread, the Tagruato site to see what other parallels we have here.
Thanks.
