I'm not trying to proselytize...seriously. I was trying to see if there was anyone else here following it, see if we could join forces...

It's not worth going over everything with you, don't worry about it. It's probably not connected.

But, I'll point out one connection for you, for the hell of it. Go to the site and look at the past films (none of which bring any info if you google them) and scroll through them...Notice the film "Crimson Streets: The Art of ACE of New York"

Do you remember the flash of graffiti in the trailer on the roof? 2004 ACE

So now a likely hoaxter defends a likely paid guerilla marketer.
People get paid - small amounts granted - to try to stir interest in various things by talking about them online in forums, chatrooms, newsgroups, etc.
This site as noted earlier in this thread was brought up by someone who had never posted before, with an ID that was alliterative of the site's name.
Look for yourself and you'll see that when someone comes in here and posts a new thread about some 'spectacular find' or 'overlooked clue' it's basically been OOG. I can't off hand think of any real exception. The closest I've seen to a new user posting anything important was the jamieandteddy.com password being dropped in the one and only post of that user to date - which to me screams of puppetmaster. I'd also note that said poster never defended or elaborated on that post in ANY way, unlike the hoaxsters and other agitants that come around.

Wow, you guys are dinks. I wouldn't comment on it's connections, but I do think you guys have managed jam your heads so far up your own bums you've gotten downright rude.

"likely hoaxer"? I take it you, like uninvited, still think I'm that Colby Guy then hey?

Ok then Euchre, I actually do see your point... I'm new to unfiction and haven't seen a 'guerrilla (note two L's) marketer' before or knew what one is. Sorry for uneducated defense.

To most of us here dedicated to the actual topic at hand, coming along and doing what is basically blatant promotion of some site and trying to hijack the discussion for that purpose is rude.
One should not be surprised when they get back what they manage to give.

At absolute best, the OP is a trout. Those can become annoying, especially when they are hyped up about something we basically know has nothing to do with this.

I wasn't trying to hype anything. I wasn't trying to get you into it. I was asking because I heard that there was a group here at unfiction following the site, apparently I was wrong. No need to flame me. I also provided as a courtesy one of many reasons I think this *maybe* is connected to Cloverfield for those who might be interested. I'm not the only one who thinks it might be connected.

If you're not interested, fine. I wasn't trying to recruit. If I was, I would have directed you to the forum where we are following this.

But apparently there are a lot of people ready to condemn something they know little about right out of the gate. Those people really need to yank their heads out of their asses. You are not always right, deal with it.

I've qualified everything I've said. I made no claims that this is definitely connected. I don't know if it is. You guys treated me like I was paid marketer, a troll, or just an idiot. Why? What makes you so damn special? Who are you to pass judgment? I came here with good intentions and you flamed me. Nice, thanks a lot.

By all means, let this thread die.

Didn't you start it?
@ IMDB??

Didn't you start this small tiered-intelligence cult over at IMDB by supposedly emailing the guy?

You being the only one he spoke with?

You having to dish out the info to others who believed you?

You getting reelected as 'spokesperson' for that community further dividing what can be proven by all or thrown out by those 'in the know' of the elder system?

I've followed it and it's the biggest pile of mince ever. Seriously, you should have thought more about it prior to starting it up.

Facts can be proven by others. None of this can.

Take your Karma system and go pay your dues at court for that driving violation.

Yeah, Leith is an "old-timer" over at the IMDB forums...he's been peddling the 48Hours stuff from Day One. Most likely he's part of the crew that made the site or whatever...and yes, Leith, you're proselytizing, just like you do on IMDB.

Earth to Leith: 48Hours STILL isn't connected to Cloverfield. We know it; you know it. Find another street corner to preach on. Razz

Well, you could have started a topic in the right place instead of barging into an existing thread.....

There is an existing thread for 48 hours.net in News and Rumors. I think all discussion goes there as we have decided that it is not a part of the official promotion of Cloverfield.

Other than that, guys, please be nice. Just pointing a person to the correct place for posting is enough. I know some players are frustrated, and probably disappointed, but let's not take it out on each other. Thanks.

Just FYI: There are some great games going now, an example, Eldritch Errors has a planned in-game live event that includes a spooky camp out in West Virginia. Perhaps a more productive way to spend time is to find a game that has something happening? Just a suggestion. Smile

I didn't say you were trying to 'hype it', I said hyped up about it. Why do you jump from the idea of being excited about something and venturing if others were, to trying to excite others about something? Are you reading what you are thinking and NOT what I'm saying? Wink
If you were looking to get into a 'group' here following the site, why not post in the existing threads you seemed to know about? Maybe because they'd sunk hopelessly down and had too many reasonable arguments that this site is OOG?
You contradict yourself too. You said you knew about the other threads, then said you were looking to see if people were interested, and now you say you already knew people were interested. If there were really people following this, wouldn't those threads be active, instead of sinking into obscurity?

Nice job of mentioning what you weren't going to mention. I guess I won't mention that you've only posted in two threads, both of which for sites that are pretty solidly suspected of being OOG, and that your posts consist only of defenses of said sites.

Why are you so worried about being wrong? Most of us have made speculations where we KNOW some of it is going to be wrong. We don't feel that there's a need to get personal in defense of a theory that only the creators of this project can prove or disprove through their own clues and the final product.

Trying to guilt us? As I implied, normal 'n00bs' enter normally in a polite way, and offer theories, and when countered pretty much apologetically accept if they failed to research well or were at least unaware of things that would make their speculations weak or implausible. They don't leap in pushing something then get immediately defensive when you counter what they suggest. Even the hoaxster that put up the 'adshel' pics was rather polite and apologetic. Trout usually following prompting like CloverfieldClues.com gave with a courteous move to appropriate threads. You are acting like someone that's been caught.

You don't want that, else you wouldn't have answered our much more mild chidings with escalation to flaming.
