I don't think people are disputing the fact that Cornbread *might* be a clue. Why the hell not? Same goes for "six times" and what's in the blue box. I just don't buy in to the conspiracy that she's not actually saying cornbread... and that someone would have edited her video to "censor" her by dubbing in the word cornbread (using her own voice!) in a effort to "coverup" something else.
I know that Cornbread-gate is your theory, but you don't need to take criticisms so personally.
In my defense about the whole Tagruato thing... I was out of town the day that was found. When I read through the six or so pages here about the site, and how it was found, the evidence was shaky IMO, and nobody seemed to question any of the inconsistencies with the site. If you actually read my post, instead of quotes from people here saying "CC thinks it's OOG", you would have seen that it was done very "tongue-in-cheek".
Well, again, I have nothing but respect for your site, Dennis -- yeah, I was a little surprised by the "Tagruato thing," but it's no biggie. Major props to you for all the work you've done in compiling a VERY thorough, comprehensive and cohesive cluesite.
And no, I'm not trying to blow "Cornbreadgate" into some huge thing that's going to solve all the mysteries -- again, it's a simple -- and mundane -- theory that speaks more to character interaction than toward anything else.
And Kingpin, the question why Marlena would want to do that and go to all the trouble: the answer is personal sabotage. Again, this is just personality conflict and drama entering into it. Remember, before Teddy came along, Marlena and Jamie were the party girls (Paris and Nicole -- yay! ). Then, here comes this guy Teddy, and suddenly Jamie is head over heels and all she can gush about is him. Which is no fun for Marlena. She tried (unsuccessfully) to get Jamie to forget about him and date other guys again -- no effect. So Marlena figures she can sabotage their relationship in secret by "doctoring up" these videos and splitting the couple up, so that she and Jamie can go back to their swingin' Party Grrl days again.
And I see this as an easy way to inject Marlena into the plot -- i.e., somewhere along the line, she snoops a little too far and finds a communique from Teddy to Jamie that contains some kind of damning info about Tagruato or Slusho or The Monstaaaah or Teddy Hanssen or Jamie Lascano or whoever/whatever...

I'll go far enough to humor the "marlena wants to sabotage/break up j&t so that she can party with her girl again" theory but 1)how exactly would dubbing the word "cornbread" sabotage jamie and teddy's relationship? i think something like telling teddy that jamie gets bladder infections from cheating on him would be a little more effective, and 2)they are partying in that video and jamie is pretty obviously buzzed so the whole teddy thing cant be messing up her and marlena's partying schedule too much

1) It depends on what Jamie actually said in the video, that Lena overdubbed with "cornbread." As I lipread it, Jamie said "whore," which I suspect boils down to Jamie trying to be all dead-sexy 'n' stuff to turn on Teddy (i.e., she's saying that she'll be Teddy's own private whore). In which case, overdubbing an intimate moment with a nonsense word like "cornbread" can be a total boner-killer for the Tedster.
2) By partying, I didn't mean the drinking so much (Teddy probably doesn't care), but rather the sleeping around. Jamie keeps telling him that she's "being faithful," and Teddy buys it. (Whether or not Jamie is lying about it is a different story.)

i emphatically disagree that there was any "overdubbing."
no lena. no censoring the word whore. she just mouths the word funny - probably a lame attempt at being sexy.
regardless tho, what she's saying and what you're hearing are one in the same: cornbread.

Just put the clip into premiere pro and sync up the audio to the video. Jaime says cornbread.
I think instead of trying to analyze the answer as we've been doing, we have to figure out the question.

Her attempts at sexyness are that mouthing and 'cornbread'? Those two have issues. I hope they get eaten first.

Laugh all you want, I don't mind.
At the end of the day, my explanation is pretty damn simple: Marlena is pissed off that Jamie has ended their Butch 'n' Sundance wyld-grrl days and got moonstruck over some guy. Now she wants revenge by sabotaging that relationship with Teddy.
The rest of you will be hard-put to explain what, then, Jamie was talking about when she said "cornbread." And why she had to whisper it -- god forbid Marlena Diamond or 15 Horny Girls should overhear her say the dread word "cornbread."
Have fun with that!

I'm amazed that people think that Marlena, or any of these characters for that matter, are tech savvy enough to overdub the word "cornbread" on the video.
I'm amazed Jamie's even capable of UPLOADING the thing to the site...

This is something that bothered me from the beginning. From the trailer don't the characters at the party all seem like very wealthy successful New York young professionals? This doesn't correlate with the jamielovesteddy website design and these videos.

Clearly it's some very powerful cornbread; wouldn't want it to fall into the wrong hands. It could be disasterous.

Mmm... Giant cornbread.
EDIT: I wouldn't rule out Biscuts, English Muffins, or Crossants... There's a reason why the french word for bread is "pain". We're dealing with a full-on baked apocolypse here, people.

From the first video we get the idea that Marlena is helping her get these up.
Another thing to note is that being successful young professionals with a good income doesn't necessarily mean you need to have deft at web design, or even all that tremendously good computer skills. Computer use these days is a bit like driving - easy enough any idiot can do a passable job of it, even if it's a messy crappy job of it.
