Agreed - it'll be a gift for Jamie (obviously), but one that will advance the 'plot' in a significant way; and, it will be a gift for us; most likely a new website.

I don't think it will be a trailer, though. Crying or Very sad I say this b/c I can't see them releasing a trailer only to the relatively small percentage of people playing along online. Trailers are meant to bring people to the movie, so they'd release a trailer to the world, in a theater, before another movie, etc. But, Dec. 9th is a Sunday, and movies aren't released on Sundays. Also, there don't seem to be any Paramount movies being released on Friday, Dec. 7 or Dec. 14. [I am Legend is set to be released on the 14th, but it's Warner Bros.]. So, I say: a new website, and one that answers a lot of questions. Here's hoping!

EDIT: on second thought, it might be a tip that we can expect a new trailer before I am Legend. Trailers aren't always from the same studio as the feature film (right? Confused ); and I am Legend would be the perfect movie to put a Cloverfield trailer in front of.

I don't know, Mel. I'd like it to be for us, but I hope a trailer comes out sooner than that. One month before the movie opens is a bit late, to me.

Perhaps some kind of 'underground' site against Tagurato warning against the use of the DSN. Why not? Everything these days has an 'underground' internet movement against it. Laughing

Only problem I see with my idea is ... why would that be a gift?

[opens card and read to self]
[gets confused looks] "What is NectarOfTheDemons.com, Teddy?"
[looks in box again] Oh! Cranberry pills!

I'm just hoping it's an alien crawler that, when she opens the box, it will leap out, attach to her face and suck out what little brains she has left. At least until Marlena comes in and beats them both with a baseball bat.

Hey, I can hope, can't I?

Okay, Ecks. So, I saw you write "9dec07" above the little script you wrote, and it got me thinking. So, I googled "09dec07", and what are the chances, I got a link to an EBay sale titled:

CRUISE FREEDOM OF THE SEAS 09DEC07 ROYAL SUITE 5 GUESTS

What are the chances?

Just thought that was funny.

Haha! Coincedence is a heckuva thing.

I googled "120907", and #3 on the hit list was a link that sent me to, of all places, NutriBiotic (a health product website with the slogan "Where Science Works Naturally"). Going to their "About Us" webpage, we can read the following:

In 1980, after nearly ten years in the nutritional supplement industry, NutriBiotic was founded based on the principle that everyone deserves good health. Inspired by the research and recommendations of the world's only two-time Nobel Laureate, Linus Pauling, Ph.D., we began work on development of a variety of forms and dosages of Vitamin C and other nutrients. We felt that the public should have the best possible variety of the best possible nutrients at the best possible price, and our initial successes with our family of products showed that you thought so, too.

Soon after we began filling the need for quality nutritional supplements, we found another need - the need for high quality, nutrient dense protein in a hypoallergenic form for the chemical and food sensitive individual. Our Rice Protein powder meets that need without soy, milk, egg, wheat or yeast.

In 1987 we pioneered the process and use of grapefruit seed extract. You will find the fruits of our labors in our range of products containing Citricidal™, including our skin cleansers, shower gel and bubble bath, dental gel, deodorant stick, foot powder, multi-purpose liquid concentrate, CapsulesPlus, and more.

At NutriBiotic we stand committed to providing the very best for you and your family and are pleased to be able to offer you an ever-expanding range of quality nutritional supplements and personal care formulas developed with the intent of protecting and enhancing your health.

Hmmm... their Rice Protein meets the customer's need without anything else.... they have pioneered a process to enhance their products.... they sell anything from shower gel to health pills

Cranberry pills, perhaps? Wink

What about premiering a trailer on TV that night? Dec 9 is a Sunday and either the 1st or 2nd largest viewing night of the week.

It's also exactly 40 days from 1/18/08, isn't it?

Even if it is, what does the number 40 have to do with it?

I can attest to that. I've been lurking about quietly reading ur threads for the whole while... It took a long time for me to sign up because whenever I had something to say, I usually found someone else had already posted that same thought.

There are lots of people coming in to get up to date on the latest marketing clue.

As for the 12/9 thing... I think it's for us, and for Jaime. The date seems quite 'randomly' picked... in that it has little significance to Jaime... she didn't say something like "Oh, how sweet, on the anniversary that we met..." or "Awww.... a birthday present!" The Dec 9 date is specific to him, obviously, but she doesn't indicate any recognition of that date, does she? So it's something to 1) protect immunize her 2) experiment on her 3) turn her into bait 4) plane tickets to get her to safety... 5) or some cute lacey knickers 'cause he's going to be in town on the 10th.

Who knows. But I think it's for us.

Similarly if you take the date 011808 (US format) and divide by 6 you get 1968 and there was some major stuff happened that year too that technically changed the world as we know it.

I have to admit having posted speculation on some other mumblings regards the number six I could not help but respond here mainly in recognition of a comment regards begin able to tumble numbers to mean anything eventually.

Its all possible, probable, good luck on a definitely told ya so.

Just thought that was funny.

haha Maybe Teddy is hoping to win those tickets, and the box just has a note in it that says call me.
j/k

It's a funny coincidence none-the-less.

Even if it is, what does the number 40 have to do with it?

If I knew what was in the box, maybe I can answer that...

What does any number have to do with all of this? Six keeps coming up, sure, but we don't know if it has any meaning either. It might just be a number POA* by the marketers.

I know its been discussed earlier in this thread, but I think it's a good possibility Jamie's present will also be the name of the movie or lead to the name of the movie. Dec 9 will be just over a month away from the release and at that point a more traditional marketing campaign could (should) start up (TV ads, theatrical trailers, etc). In order to reach a larger market I think Paramount would want to avoid confusion and make sure there is a name attached to the movie.

In any event, we'll know in exactly 60 days!
