CORNBREAD is the new IT'S A LION Screwy

Hey, thanks for posting that, Dennis...I was just waiting for someone to start saying "this is the new "IT'S A LION"...ROFLAWLZ." Rolling Eyes

You think it's not an avenue worth pursuing and that anyone chasing down any significance to "cornbread" is Screwy...and you're right.

Because she didn't say "cornbread." It's a goddamn deliberate red herring. As deliberate as the way Jamie Lascano leans into the video and clearly enunciates some one-syllable word that involves opening your mouth into an O shape and not closing it again (whore; ore; oar; core) instead of "corn---breeeeeead", which involves two syllables, some hard fricatives, pursed lips, and linguals. (Just try it yourself in front of a mirror.)

As to why it's an avenue worth pursuing: simple. Lena's snooping through the videos (and editing them) that Jamie -- and Teddy -- thought were private communications that only the two of them would see. So guess what happens a vid or two from now....? Teddy sends Jamie an e-message that contains info about the dangers of Slusho, or about a monster, or about something else significant that Tagruato sure as hell wouldn't want the world to know about.

And that nosy bitch Marlena stumbles across it. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, especially in Marlena's hands....wouldn't you agree?

Seriously....you don't see the plot angle in all that? Marlena becomes a target, because she knows too much. She also pisses off Jamie and Teddy, and loses her best friend because of it. etc. etc. etc.

Good god, man....this is Simple Action Thriller 101. It's basic stuff...been done in a million movies. What is there NOT to get? Screwy

Good call. Wink

Actually, I think that was Jamie's sole intent, to say something that would give Teddy a boner -- telling him she'll be a whore to him when he gets home; talking about oral sex; whatever. And Marlena thought it would be funny as hell to edit over that bit with something nonsensical like "cornbread."
