well sorry. im not a messageboard person, i didnt know that you guys took a movie so seriously until i googled info about the film. this is still kinda new to me. i just saw how seriously you guys took the film and thought id help out.
there was no camera (hi-Cool that i could see. it wasnt there. if it was then why would it be at their feet when they are hugging? does that make sense? lol like someone else said.
i really doubt the movie is gonna be all video camera shot. there was too many other cameras on the set filming alot of other things like us extras.

It looks like a microphone in the second shot, which would make sense considering the position they're sitting in.

to me it looks like someone else is angleing (sp?) the camera. i think aspects of it will be done through POV of the camera man. I think others will be as if we were there and its what we are seeing. Remember a lot of people got sick at Blair Witch Project. I am not saying this film will have the amateurish camera work i am just saying an overuse of the POV shots could turn some people off of the movie.

very interesting im on the fence.
well there is certain connections to what shes saying to various things, like one, isnt jj helping on the new star trek movie? so maybe the red shirt was an inside joke. As for the minotaur, aspect, one of the characters had HoL in their fave book section, and the monster in the house is compared that to the minotaur in mythology , but the monster is never seen or confirmed to being real in the house. so ya, im sure there might be nodds to these things, but a half man, half bull monster would be quite lame ecspecially coming from the ocean.

Well, look at this:

http://books.google.com/books?id=vk88AAAAIAAJ&pg=PA506&lpg=PA506&dq=john+quincy+adams+minotaur+of+the+ocean&source=web&ots=dkmvJyK5OV&sig=gFdIAkoFP_T4pWEDCE8iWQf3sYg

John Quincy Adams makes mention of a "minotaur of the ocean", so this concept is actually a pre-existing thing...

Looking again that is definitely a shotgun mic in that picture.

BTW, who are those actors anyway? I don't readily recognize them as any of our Slusho 7. This is certainly a shoot, but is it so certainly for our movie?

If the camera is above them, wouldn't the force of heavy debris flooding through smash the camera to the ground? I mean, that would be a cool camera effect for a tense scene and all, but it doesn't seem likely. And MrToasty is right - that's definitely a shotgun mic.

I'm on the fence about this whole thing too. It really doesn't seem to me like she's lying but who can tell on the internet, ya know? A minotaur would be disappointing, but I guess that depends on its back story and how well the monster is constructed and designed.

You are so certain of that in your memory when you couldn't remember a tunnel from a tarp?

What? Would one be holding it up over the other one's shoulder as they think they are about to die?
Now THAT would be vanity!

Thinking about it, what if the person who views the tape initially views the footage as it is but then it fades into real time? If memory serves me correctly, didn't they do this for the video in "The Ring"?

*sigh* really, I'm sure its not a minotaur because i bet the other cast member only had a few seconds to look at the creature, maybe she saw the fur or it had an odd tail and thought minotaur, maybe it had a long wide snout like a whale- er a cow or something and thats the first thought that came to mind. Also about the cameras, I bet like 85% of the movie is filmed with the videocamera look but that doesnt mean they all went out and bought a sony camera to film it that way. The big camera could impersonate the home camera, plus if/when Rob and Beth die, who is filming then? And how long could a battery last through a whole party and one hell of a beating from running? It could have died while they were under the bridge hiding and then the real movieish camera cuts in on their final scene. And THAT is why there is no home camera in the last scene.

once again she said that the character said, IS that a minotaur? not, THAT is a minotaur. Meaning it is something that does not look like anything someone has seeen before. we should really get away from teh whole minotaur thing sinc eit is just a random victim speculating about what they are seeing.

didnt you say a few messages back that you saw a tarp? and remembering a key line from the set sticks out in memory more than just a scene i observed. theres a tarp and a tunnel in that scene like you noticed. i got the two confused. sorry my memory isnt up to par. it was a long night.
youre sooo sure the entire film will be shot through a video camera yet you even say they wouldnt be holding a camera at that time. which would be why its being shot by a professional movie camera. you just sort of proved the whole 'film will not be entire shot blair witch style' theory.
im getting tired of arguing though. i just wanted to give you guys something interesting because i was in a scene. all thats been done by you is berating me over not knowing the term for a dolly camera and criticizing me for a vague recollection of a scene i wasnt in when i remember my scene vividly. youre nitpicking.
and i never said the monster was a minotaur for certain. i only said that the girl i was in the scene with says 'is that a minotaur?' it could be that but maybe thats just a throw off. maybe its something else. i dont know. im just trying to tell you what i observed on the set. jesus.
