Tell me this: does the password to the JLT site allow you to upload a video or delete the ones that are there?

Do realize that there is a difference between getting access to a VIEW ONLY password and getting access to one that ALLOWS YOU TO ALTER CONTENT.

If the pics up there were in fact clues, why empower *any* user with the ability to delete them? Or upload different ones to confuse the issue? Why would they give anyone other than a certified puppetmaster the ability to create utter chaos in this ARG by deleting clues they so diligently put together and posted?

If it were a clue, it would have been a clue which anyone of us could use without having access to destroying or altering content.

Look at The Lost Experience... I keep bringing up "Mandrake Wig" and his MySpace page, which had a facebook and loads of images and content. But you don't see any random ARG-er going in there and altering content, do you? Why? Because they CAN'T.

God, this is enfuriating... makes me want to go destroy New York or something.

I have no idea why we are still arguing what is right and wrong about the hacking. The opinions have been stated for the 100th time.

I don't think there's much discussion here until we find out the repurcussion (if there is one).

If there are any repercussions for hacking the account, which since I have a background in law I know there are, depends on Paramount itself. That type of thing is illegal. And since we're talking about 'big business' here, there's no real way to tell how they're going to act. If it was me, I would've logged on to a proxy server before logging into the account just in case. If I'm not mistaken, photobucket users have a log in there account to see the IP addresses of the people who get into their bucket. If not, then I'm sure Photobucket does, and they would assist anyone if there was a suspicion of maliciousness i.e. deleting pics that are meant to be private. It's dangerous to fuck around with something like that, because, as said, you don't know how a movie studio would act. If you're hacking a regular person's account, chances are they won't seek any legal action. But you're messing with a movie studio's private stuff. That's where you run the risk.

Which, if this person had just logged into the account and been an observer, Paramount would probably look the other way. Yes, they can seek legal action over this, whether they will or not is hard to tell. But someone here definitely crashed through a ceiling they probably shouldn't have.

Tried catching up from over the weekend and the photobucket pics, There are 5 pics that were real? Were they the ones from the beginning of this thread? Just want to make sure those are the ones b-4 trying to decipher some of this.

Awkward it is quite clear to me that the pictures set up on the jamie's photobucket are not IG, but were taken over by a lurker just like Hawk's photobucket was, except that person seemed to be malicious.

Because it seems unrealistic for someone involved in the ARG to delete the photos which are linked to on myspace JUST BECAUSE someone hacked it. The photos were already available to us, why delete them???

None of what happen on the new photobucket should be considered IG in my opinion, since we have no idea to know anything for sure. Paramount will need to provide some sort of defining picture, such as a picture of the friends together, proving he who is in charge is part of ARG.

That's the part that makes me believe this was hacked. Why would they delete the images that are (still) hotlinked on the myspace page knowing it would fuck the character's profile up? That doesn't seem worth the sacrifice to me. And totally unprofessional.

That said, pretty much the only way we'll know if someone behind the ARG did it intentionally is if a new, unseen picture of Jamie is uploaded. I'd put money on this never happening.
