Is it Soho in London? Or Soho, NYC? Looks like London to me. Utterly baffling to me, this entire thing. Guess I'm out. Would have been nice of them to actually specify location.

Yep - Soho London. David Varela (Londonwriter) mentions this in his plug above. It seems that a team is already going for an event at 13:00 (BST) today - The Dean Street Runners with an early lead? They're attempting

Yeah seems like big fun...just wish they had made it more genric so we could have had teams anywhere in the world. I think pretty much most of the challenges would work in any city.

Ah well... Crying or Very sad

Things seem to be moving swiftly - like someone on the receiving end of a vox pop in the street I pretend I understand and actually find I don't, but venture opinions here anyway. There's now a shop for purchasing props staffed by someone hairy.

And apparently a Blake tour on Sunday. And there's also a Twitter feed of what's going on (which updates when someone joins a team - there seem to be quite a few teams now). In the Facebook app videos seem to be available, and it seems to have accepted a video submission from me despite the fact that I haven't done one. Confused

Others have - see here and here for examples.

The day one newsletter is here. Is anyone at unfiction actually in Soho and actively participating?

Hmmm - not a big Unfiction fan base this one - but had the final e-mail today - html version available here which includes the links I haven't pasted below.

Update 4 of 4 of The Soho Project

Dear Hunters,

It has ended. The game is, in many different ways, up. The Soho Project is a broken dream, BLAKE is a broken machine. and I am a broken man. How we will we ever recover from this? Let me start at the beginning.

DR SAVAGE MIND-SWAP (PART 1)

It all started so well... With the leaderboard finely poised and all to play for, the players gathered at 01zero-one to hear the rules of the final day. The first shocking revelation was that, due to persistent Resistance infection of video materials, the BLAKE machine had become profoundly unstable. Dr Bill Savage, displaying the reckless heroism of a great scientist, downloaded his own brain into BLAKE. This seemed to arrest the decline and meant that our dream of concluding The Soho Project could continue. This created a cyborg Blake/Savage entity. Horrific but strangely compelling.

THE FINAL PURSUITS

Undaunted, we pressed on. The rules of SSS were simple enough - it was a dash to complete as many double-pointed pursuits as possible, with the added bonus that if you could complete a pursuit with our real live stag in the background, you got TRIPLE. Alas, Long Dark Knights of the Soul were a no-show which left it wide open for Team Gintastic and Wolverines of the Night to duke it out for the title. Players could upload their video directly into Savage/Blake via his eye-based vision interface which speeded things up considerably.

The teams traded Sub-Parkour adventures and Team Gintastic were maintaining their advantage when the Wolverines pulled off the Pursuit of the Week. They actually Got a Job. This Level 10 mission had been left unattempted all week. The teams drew tantalisingly level at the top. Pursuit after pursuit was dashed off in the haste for more points. It got tense. It all came down to the final missions. Team Gintastic turned in their own rendition of Microsports - Edible Cricket. You can't argue with roll-smashing like that.

Team Gintastic triumphed! Congratulations to them all, especially Minky Withers, team leader. The trophy was given over and all concerned were about to set off for a jolly stag-hunt around Soho.

DR SAVAGE MIND-SWAP (PART 2)

When... Those rotten Resistance sorts, armed with some sort of speech about 'freedom from mediation' and 'humanity', leapt forth and infected Blake/Savage for the last, decisive time. The machine broke down and, with an unholy sound, the consciousness of B/S was transferred into the mind of the stag, and vice versa. Unexpected. While the body of Dr Savage bellowed, pawed the ground, and looked for something to graze, the players were faced with a choice. Remain a good corporate servant of Fictional Media and help save Dr Bill, or join The Resistance and release the spirit of Blake once and for all? Disappointingly, it went about 5 to 1 in the Resistance's favour. The fact they had gin, sausages and natty berets may have had something to do with it.

END-GAME

So. It came down to this. Everyone was hunting for the stag. Could the Resistance continue to infect the stag's vision with the three golden balls ( now balloons), further corrupting BLAKE and setting the captured spirit free, or could Fictional Media take enough photos of the stag to jog Dr Savage's body into recalling his brain? They had numbers on their side. The stag couldn't take it anymore. The machine rent in two and the spirit of William Blake, trapped for so long in servitude, was released back to the wilds of Soho.

So, the Resistance have triumphed and my dreams are in tatters. Blake is in bits in my garage, Dr Savage is recovering in a secure mental facility and rumours of a wild poetic spirit at large in the sewers of Soho abound. The bank manager has taken to sending me text messages with nothing in them. Never fear! Fictional Media shall return...

THE END

Thanks for taking part in The Soho Project. If you've read this far, please do take a moment to fill in our feedback form. We'll only write to you if The Soho Project ever rides again. If you'd rather we didn't, email me: jim.rummy[splat]fictionalmedia.co.uk

Now - can anyone tell me what all that means and whether it was fun?!
