I asked Redrigarn if the missing shipment could be tracked on the system.

Just so you know, not everyone uses the System's blogging features...This is a blog where I solicit opinions from the general citizens of our community. The point is, Redrigarn wouldn't automatically see your comment...and I'm not sure he would be allowed to answer anyway, I think Pallantar's concerned about security...But I'll make it a point to get Redrigarn to take a look at this. I'm sure he'll be touched by your concern!

I asked Jedditor if he was ok.

aw, thats sweet! thanks drizjr. i just find it refreshing to get away from people every now and then. and ive been working on finding this missing water shipment. i should have results in say two days. so keep watch.

Missing WATER shipment?

but the weirdest thing, is that the blog page is now backwards! Is this the work of the ssc? Or [META] some clues to help solve one of the puzzles? [/META]

[UPDATE] Jedditor blogs about the missing shipment - June 13

From the time of the last post to this thread, the text has been restored; it's no longer backwards and there have been several posts to http://www.exilearchive.com/blogs.php
The most recent one by Jedditor includes the attached image and this text:

Quote:
Jedditor Lebbisun - shipments

yeah im back. amazing what you can accomplish with a little peace and quiet.

(image alternate text: shipments by jedditor and the system)

a little mixed up and hacked together but all the revelant info is here. as you can see most of the shipments get consumed or stored somewhere to be used later. but shipment 256 never did.

hmmmmmmmmm.

I'm vexed by the unsolved puzzles.
Is anyone still following this?

[UPDATE]Shipment post on Jedditor's blog -June 15th

They absolutely do, thebruce! It makes sense, in the story, that the Exiles are still living out their lives on their new desert home.

The enormous amount of creativity and hard work that went into the trailhead and "The Books of Minimer Randibone" is evident.
The responsive interaction with characters on the blogs is there for those inclined to that aspect of the game.
All of this, keeps me coming back to check for updates.

Keriwen left a comment to Jedditor's shipments post:
Quote:

Wow...I never realized it before, but the System seems to have its own way of speaking. Almost its own language. Am I right, Jedditor?

It feels like there's a hint in this response, but I need a clue club clobbering on the head to shake something loose. Smile

I just got a new email from the game! I feel so bad that I'm not more involved, because I absolutely love what's here. This new email was a joy to sift through for information; that's what I loved about the initial trailhead, actually. Smile

It appears that CMProtocol is the System, and the other person is trying to communicate with it (with limited success). Is the other person Keriwen, perhaps, given the comment on the blog?

---

ROT-17 on this from above(pxxmnfibbxuerwpkyvcdcxarjujkfevwxfgviyrgjhxdtrefxatflkjwxcqnaglqqcv) gives the following:

"goodewzssolvingbpmtutorialabwvmnowxmzpixayoukivworkwcbanotherxchhtm"

OR

"Good ewzs solving bpm tutorial abwvm now xmzpixa you kiv work wcb another xchhtm"

Separating the nonsense out...

"ewzsbpmabwvmxmzpixakivwcbschhtm"

ROT-18 on that gives:

"workthestoneperhapscanoutpuzzle"

OR

"Work the stone perhaps can out puzzle"

Substituting that back into the original:

"Good work solving the tutorial stone now perhaps you can work out another puzzle."

---

I haven't tried working on the codes at the bottom.

I'm not sure about the line (@@`)loeuvreonconna(@@n)tlouvrier . French, perhaps.
What about them "APPLES"? Cool

eta: Sorry for the duplicate solve of the first part. I didn't realize that you edited your post before I hit the submit button.

edit2: From this wikiquote page
Quote:
A l'oeuvre, on connaît l'ouvrier.
Translation: A carpenter is known by his chips.

The quote is attributed to Jonathan Swift, Irish satirist and man of letters (1667 - 1745).
From what I can gather, it's meaning is something along the lines of the quality of a person's work is known by what is left behind. Other interpretations are here.
BTW, be very careful if you decide to search the phrase "A carpenter is known by his chips." I bumped into two mischievous and annoying hijack browser pages while doing so. Sad

edit again: So, if there is a code in the strange @@ markings, (@@`) might = A, and (@@n) might = ît

The contents, including the codes, are very much the same as what Rekidk got in the above email, except without the conversation and the addition of the fourth paragraph; that line in which "Prohibited" is in bold.

Next, I was surprised to see that an email I sent to jumpingspider yesterday was posted.

Systemic Chronicle - @@@lError: RecipientUnknown

Hello spiderjumping ...um...or is it the [System] that receives this message.
I am one of the idea-web people; as the Exiles refer to us.
I have been following the challenges, struggles, and accomplishments of those using the System to communicate.
I am most curious about the interruptions, pranks, and codes littering the emails. They seem to be attempts from the ssc to recruit our help and perhaps guide us to their version of the truth.
Staccato setback cabal, if you are able to read this, please, let us know your plight. What truths about "The Books of Minimer Randibone" are you willing to reveal?

Helpfully yours,
drizjr

That links back to my email posted on the blog.

"SeeOther"? Go to the blog?
"AssistancePlease"? Is the System in trouble? Just who is it that needs help?
"ImSoSorry"? Oh, my goodness...why?
"Goodbye"? I'm hoping that's not permanent.

Hey, uF players. This may just be reheating up. Come on over and play! Jetpack

eta: Incidentally, I believe that the swf on the main page has been changed. It seems much slower to me (though that may be my computer) and it's now exilearchive3.swf

edit again: Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not to share the decryptions with the Exiles?

[UPDATE] Blog & [EMAIL] from Jumping Spider - June17

Blog update

We need to refocus on our core organization, focusing on infrastructure and throughput streamlining. It's a very delicate time for our settlement here, so we don't have time to discuss dealing with dissidents or criminal matters. It's most important that we all pull together to make this colony the best it can be.

The image has four visible layers. Three of them are text. The background looks like anime "Gundam SEED".
It's text (the best I make out):

Having the eyes...? What does that mean?
Mentioning the eyes on a video that the whole world would see.

Alright, I have been lurking on this one, but after looking at the square0 puzzle, I'm gonna try and jump in. You got any leads so far as to how to solve it. or are we all at square 1? get it, I made a funny.

Great, natas! Fresh eyes.
thebruce had compiled what was known at the time on his blog. here.
The top line was later discovered to mean 1 4 9 2 Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
As for the new hint... I'm wondering if it's a code that was used before.
The one where sqbopnvt-011235813 decoded to spamming, but don't let my wondering distract you. Smile
eta: scratch that last sentence. The last part of the code is simply counting backwards from the given letter and reads...

So, the hint is in the method, I guess.
