[SPEC] A thought on 1-18-08.com.
updates triggered by number of visitors?

Hey guys, been lurking since July, finally decided to register. I'm new to all this, so bare with me for a sec.

I thought that, maybe, whoever's in charge of 1-18-08.com is updating the site based on it's number of visitors. I thouht about the fact that it was updated pretty egularly in the first month, then took a while to get a new pic. This could be ebcause the number of visitors in the first month was so high because of all the publicity, then, when it died down, the number of visitors died down, so the updates died down. Just a thought.

welcome!

i doubt its anything triggered like that but its a good thought. The pics will get updated whenever the PM's feel they are good and ready to give clues. or they are following a very strict timeline of events. if thats the case then maybe therein lies the key to this game and how it ends. maybe i dont know

Yeah, in fact, I think that the PM's will maintain pretty strict control over our progress; at least, until the movie is released. After that, if there's an ARG, then it may become more open-ended. I say this because they can't just wait around and hope we find things - there's only so much time before the movie comes out.

So, they have to control how we progress - so far, we've only found things when they've given them to us (more or less). Sadly, I think that's the way it's going to be between now and Jan. 18. I think it's gotta be that way, otherwise we'll find stuff too quickly, or we won't figure stuff out in time. Just a thought.

I think your on point there Melampus.

Eveything we've come across of relevancy so far has been handed to us one way
or another. Either directly or by way of a distict clue/puzzle that they know we'll
solve in a projected amount of time.

The viral is certainly calculated...although this may be their first interactive viral
for a movie, it isn't their first viral rodeo. They have us sized up in the palm of their
hand and play their cards accordingly.

If my theories right, Jaimie's gift opening will set off a pandoras box of sorts by around
12-18 that will spiral out of control and completely absorb us until the infamous day.
