Strange Phone Call I got a strange phone call last night and one today. The first time I got to pick it up, but the caller hung up. Missed it today. Normally I wouldn't associate it at all with the ARG itself, however-- this is strange.
The number was 202-381-1294
I tried all of the reverse lookups I could find with no success. FoneFinder.net didn't have any information on the AC and Prefix together at all. I dug a little deeper. This area code and prefix hasn't even existed since 1982.
Anyone else getting these calls?
EDIT: I did find that 202-381 "area code / prefix" is also used in Northern Egypt.

Dopesnt sound liek its related to CTW.. may be somethign more.. creepy. I wouldnt think it'd be a crank call from EGYPT. You'd see country codes on your phone I'd think... As such.. if the number doesnt exist itn the US anymore..
its either A) An actualy a paranormal event
or
b) An Arg. But I see no reason to assume that its Catching the Wish, so I sugegst moving to News & Rumors under the "is this...?" thread

This is not in the style of the CTW PM/or PM Team. So I doubt it was related to CTW2. Hence I moved it to New & Rumors and I'll let the local moderators do what they want with this.
If we get phone calls from CTW, expect a NJ area code, or blocked call, and either a live voice or recorded message. Probably from Sam or Sarah or Dale (if you have had occaision to given them your phone number). You will not get cold calls unless somewhere in the Aglaura reality you have given out your phone number.

or (what I think is the most likely:
This has nothing to do with ARGs, a wrong number, or a broken phone or summat. We once recived calls at 2 in the morning (almost at the exact same time, ever time) for about 2 weeks, there was somebody on the phone who would mumble (sounded like an elderly woman, maybe East Indian) until we hung up. That was hardly an ARG

Heh... I was reluctant to say anything at all. And would have completely written it off except for the fact that I'm actively in a game right now.
Thanks for the comments, though. At least I'm not out of my mind-- or missing something-- and still out of my mind.

I know that sometimes the slightest things make you think "ARG!" I would have thought that about the phone calls, but how many elderly east indian women PM games in their spare time?
That's what the peanut gallery is for, eh?
But hold out yet, it might be an ARG, but don't get your hopes up

You know, I got all excited about this thread when I saw it, because I got a 'wrong number' on my cell phone yesterday (the only people who have my # are my mother and ARG people) and I thought that the area code looked familiar. However, double checking my cell phone finds that the number I got started had a 203 area code. Alas

Area code 202 is Washington, DC. Not Egypt.

I knew something was up when he said 202 was for Eygpt, considering 203 is for Southwest Connecticut

That's a UK number. 44 is for UK, (0)121 is Birmingham area code.
622-1955 is the normal number. I am sure this is correct as i live in Birmingham.
I swear it wasn't me

That is correct . However, I can't find any evidence of this number's existence. There is no reverse lookup data on the number and nothing with Google , Yahoo! , etc. That doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't exist, though.

In any case, calling the number back will get you a "this number does not exist" message.
Maybe we'll never know..

even if this was an ARG, wouldn't the phone call be to deliver a message/clues? Unless it's a shy PM who sits in her/her room for the entire night trying to get the courage to make their IG phone call, then when they finally do they freak out and hang up just before the player answers.

Strange Phone Calls Hey all,
Has anyone figured out what the deal is with that DC number? Strange phone calls keep coming in to one of our phones, with the number 202-381-1294. A message is left, sometimes music, sometimes just a hang up (never any speaking voice or breathing though) and a call back just says the number does not exist. Please, please let me know if you have any information on this number or if anyone has any theories as to who it may be.
Thank you oh so much.
MsC.
