If you check wikipedia on tardigrades then look for water bears youll find that they DO stand and attack their prey!

OK,

Now all you tardigrade experts would know that one of the main prey of theses water-bears is nematodes (or microworms) and guess what, one area of the world rich in nematodes is (pause for dramatic effect) the deep sea bottom!

In fact, there is was a major study on these nematodes at a deep sea garbage dump 106 miles from NYC! This could be why the monster heads NYC's way after being awakened.

Plus, could the magic ingredient of Slusho! somehow be something from these nematodes, or even the nematodes themselves?

They seem to use nematodes in genetic research ala YMR also.

This seems to make so much sense now... I for one welcome our new giant water-bear overlords!
