I don't think anyone else mentioned this.

The fact that the PM has printouts of the thread in the Swedish flashback forum, and has circled some of the posts blue/red might indicate that the PM (or at least one of them, if we are to believe there are several as An0n suggested) can read and understand Swedish. This would further strengthen the theory that the PM (or one of them) is actually from Sweden.

Or maybe he used babelfish or whatever...

I am becoming more and more inclined to believe there is grounding in this element. Looking at the placement of the 'Cobra' phone in the video, by the head of the captive, and the fact that it is knocked over as a major part of the video suggests its importance.

Reading up on this phone it appears they no longer make it and the only way to aquire it is through an auction site such as ebay. It is a 'classic' phone and is classed as 'vintage' by collectors. It was most widely available in Sweden from 1956 onwards and so someone who lives/has lived there and moved to somewhere else may own one.

On an unrelated side, I can't belive I neglected to notice Jeremy's Wiki entry. This entry highlights his work in 1999 on Data Management aka Data Structures <--- linked again through to other I Had A Dream About Google searches and CICS.

Save adorable cat. Save planet.

Doesn't this sound like MeiGeist?

"Save the cat. Save the world."

XD

---

That's all.

I'm still not sold on the Jeremy connection, other than him acknowledging that we are stalking him.

Looking closer at the peacock, there is what appears to be the figure of a person in the part of its tail which arches upwards, and, roughly going by its detail, looks like something of ancient Asian or Hindu religions/symbols (and, as was said before, the peacock is affiliated with both).

Upon googling "Peacock Asian Religion", you can find a .pdf file which describes the Peacock Cult and many myths and related Asian and Hindu gods to the peacock, of all of which I researched and found nothing which resembles this peacock. It looks as though it was printed/done on the computer and not hand-drawn, but I can't be sure. All we know of it is that it is very sacred in Asia, particularly in Hinduism, and that it is a symbol in dreams of cockiness.

Also, the chorus of the Britney Spears song playing in the background is:

Sometimes I run
Sometimes I hide
Sometimes I'm scared of you
But all I really want is to hold you tight
Treat you right
Be with you day and night
Baby all I need is time

Which might possibly be a clue.

ncfriend: You're right. Maybe searching each of the terms stated in the beginning will lead to something. Searching "collect package" will bring up many results, the first of which a .pdf file describing some complicated stuff about "collecting packages" in regards to syntax. (Also see http://www.nonius.com/KappaCCD/manuals/collect/happy/index.html.)

The "data recovery tool" is GNU ddrescue from the GNU project: http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/ddrescue.html

The image is the mascot/logo of GNU

Also, this whole "save planet" speech reminds me of "Heroes": Save the Cheerleader, save the world. Could be irrelevant (but I just watched the show some days ago so it's still fresh in my mind Wink

Btw, I think I can supply some more information about the TRINSTOD pdf which was the result of the original googlewhack.
Thihs is pretty techy, and most people who didn't study CS or are otherwise deeply into computer (and especially mainframe-) knowledge wouldn't know what to make of this pdf anyway.

The pdf is about a software which was used to monitor performance (and find performance problems) on large IBM mainframes (S/390), running a specific operating system (in this case MVS).

This software seemingly consists of various parts. The PDF which contains the TRINSTOD string is about the part called "MONITOR for CICS", which is part of a suite of programs called "Performance Works".

The PDF is from around 2000 (it says (C) 2000 in various places), so the company ("Landmark"), which produced this piece of software, is probably not in business anymore. Furthermore, anyone who is not an S/390 MVS administrator understands only 0,1% of what is written in there. Thats why I highly doubt that it has anything to do with the ARG that's probably going on there. It's probably just lead us to the whole google-whacking idea. I suppose it might be possible that the PM wants us to find a different google whack from the little information he gives us.

(I really think I should register so that I can edit my posts...)

Another thing: The TRINSTOD string itself in said PDF is just a symbolic name for a variable. It seems that in MVS (or in the software), these symbolic names can only be 8 chars long. From what I understand, this name is simply a short name for "normalized interval start time":

TR stands for the data structure where this variable is defined (the so called "TR record", whatever that is)

IN probably stands for "interval"

S stands for "start" (the next variable is TRINETOD and stands for "normalized interval END time")

and TOD stands for "Time Of Day", meaning it's a date/time datatype

..so much for this. However, in the case of the ARG, the string TRINSTOD might have acquired a different (important?) meaning

I think you are spot on with this.

Agreed.

Are we talking two word google-whacks or 1 word google-whacks, because I could see combing two elements such as 'Britney Cobra' or 'Adorable Package' being more likely than plugging in single words to represent every element we have seen... 'Peacock Cobra' etc...

Assuming 'TRINSTOD' was to get us to look for a googlewhack, I'm gonna say 1 word. But it's not going to be a word that can be found in any language, as I don't think that would only give 1 result in a google search. My guess is we're supposed to come up with some kind collection of abbreviations to plug into google to find the next clue, but I don't think we have enough info yet.

Aah! Of course, such as:

Collect Package = CP

Save Adorable Cat = SAC

Save Planet = SP

But obviously letters that run together more pleasantly than CPSACSP

I've been thinking along the same lines as EnochHeath.

Notice that CPSACSP can make a bunch of palindromes (spelled the same backwards and forwards) when rearranged. Dunno if it means anything, but thought it was interesting.

Okay, now that I have registered, here's another idea that just popped up in my mind:

The whole "Collect package. Save cat. Save planet." thing could be a reference to a movie/computer game/song. Like a summary. Either real or in a slightly ironical/idealized way (if you know what I mean)

I'm afraid I couldn't find any game/movie/song which matched, though. Maybe it's simply too late for heavy thinking. I'll go to sleep now Smile

Goose

It's a goose not a peacock. Looks like we can add Scotland to the geography list.

From this site: http://members.aol.com/labnet666/celtic3.htm

"The Goose is a representation of an ancient symbol of the Holy Spirit of the Iona Community (an island off the NW coast of Scotland) and is similar to a design used with a calligraphy project: browse the quilling galleries! The goose logo is the copyright of the Iona Community - visit them at www.iona.org.uk. Also, you can visit their bookshop at the Wild Goose Publications' website."
