OH WOW! Not only is this a really good find but I cannot believe I didn't see this...

Without giving away personal details, lets just say I currently live less than an hour away from the island of Iona itself! That's crazy!

Hmm...those maps on his computer are very close to where i live. The location is in Campbell. Google and Yahoo headquarters are both approxmiately equidistant from that location (Yahoo to the north in north sunnyvale, and Google to the northwest in north mountain view.)

Perhaps i DO have useful information. I could always go to google headquarters and ask if they know anything.

Why not contact Yahoo and arrange to meet with Jeremy Z? Ruling him out or in would be extremely useful at this stage!

Quite frankly, because this whole thing spooks me.

I see what you're saying. Let's not forget that this hasn't 'actually' been confirmed as an ARG yet. What's more, for some reason this whole thing will not leave my head. I've lurked through a few ARG's before but got in on this one at the ground level. Now this has been really on my mind, or 'in' my mind since it began, more so than any others? Anyone else getting that feeling.

Ive felt the need to watch those movies over and over, and even downloaded the songs and had them playing today.

That sense of eerieness was compounded when I found out the bird/goose symbol used in the second video is only used in one other place - pretty much exclusively for the island across the way from me! The actual image itself is even copywrited to that Islands Community! And now it makes it into Trinstod's apartment.

Ok I got sucked into this thanks to /b/ and I must say I'm nigh scared to death. Here are some of my thoughts so far...

1) In response to EnochHeath and Divy34fasho's discussion this being something nefarious: I don't think this is anything criminal or malicious, because I doubt the perpetrators would let it blow up this much and risk being identified.

1a) This is a bit off-base, but it's something that just came to me as I typed my first point. Since the PM posted this on /b/ (I'm assuming that they did at one point or another, or at least wanted /b/ involved), maybe it has something to do with the video that aired on FOX News a few months back about Anonymous and their victims. Maybe this is someone getting revenge either as a)a massive troll b)a massive mindf**ck or c)a kidnapper who is holding a /b/rother hostage (as seen in Video #001).

2) When I heard "Sometimes" I started taking the lyrics a little bit more literally, like our PM is speaking to us, and here's what I'm thinking:

2a) "Every time you come too close, I move away" Our PM is obviously CLOSELY watching and observing our reactions and responses to their actions. Maybe they have noticed that we're a lot smarter than we seem and we've gotten much closer to figuring this out than they had anticipated. So, they might attempt to throw us off the trail somehow. Thus, "every time you come too close [to figuring this out], I move away."

2b) "I wanna believe in everything that you say" I'm not sure of the deeper meaning here, but it's obviously connected as they are reading and analyzing "everything that [we] say". Also, at this point in the video (:17) we're shown a sample of the 4chan discussion when Anonymous makes the connection between the Sputnik google page. If you look 2 posts below that, however, you'll see a neutral comment (blue) which somehow contributes to the Sputnik comment (green; correct). I'm curious to see what that neutral comment says and how it could contribute to the Sputnik comment.

2c) "'Cuz it sounds so good" Not much here. Just a green post that mentions something about the IRC channel this was discussed in.

2d) "If you really want me" He pans to the Unfiction thread at this point, maybe suggesting a)we're right, and this is an ARG or b)we're just the closest/smartest/have the best ideas. "If you really want me...[these guys are on the right path]". Something along those lines.

2e) "There's things about me you just have to know" Post stating that a search for "Trinstod" isn't a Googlewhack anymore. Also, a post about the possibility that this NOT being an ARG is circled in blue. These might be crucial facts that we "just have to know".

2f) "Sometimes I'm scared of you" Zooms in on the reference to /b/. /b/ can be a very scary place. Again, maybe this is someone who has been victimized by the likes of Anonymous.

In closing, I think 1a) is probably just my imagination going wild. I like to believe that this isn't something we should really be scared of, but it does make it exciting.

I find alot of what you have to say here very intesting. The speed of movement and the timing of lyrics was something I was looking at...

The only thing I disagree strongly with is this:

Quote:
Since the PM posted this on /b/ (I'm assuming that they did at one point or another, or at least wanted /b/ involved)

This is based in my belief of the color coding...

Green = correct
Red = incorrect
Blue = Neutral/General/Spam/Memes

The post on the wall saying: "He keeps posting it in /b/" is circled and arrowed quite clearly in red. I trust a PM to be honest and so I feel that the PM is not responsible for the posts.

Let's not forget /b/ does seem to be the collecting and melting pot for everything 'internet'. If something viral ever exists you can be sure it'll make its way through /b/ at some point.

On this basis I believe its existence in /b/ is just that coincidental and not related to the PM...

That's just my opinion though.

It didn't start in /b/, and I myself have posted threads about this in /b/ a few times.

That's a good point, Enoch. When I saw that "He keeps posting it in /b/" was circled in red, I took it to mean that he was refuting the claim that he was repeatedly posting it there, not that he had posted it at all.

Another thing I was curious about was the way in which he circled some of the statements. Some are circled cleanly while others have a kind of "squiggly" circle around them. Maybe to indicate varying degrees of "correctness"? Also, are there any posts that aren't circled at all?

/b/ is an image bbs that allows anonymous posting. It is a subset of the 4chan forums. /b/ is widely regarded as a shady place to lurk. The "seedy underbelly" of the internet, if you will.

Good!

Try and keep it that way! Hahaha. No but seriously info on /b/ and 4chan can be found here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4chan

But lets keep this and previous discussion of /b/ the only discussion of /b/. Bah heaven knows we don't need that damn pandora's box...! lol...

Getting back to Trinstod...

I agree. I don't think /b/ has anything to do with it.

I do think the arrows in #002 are for camera direction. As was stated by someone earlier, it would be hard to pick out which posts to zoom in on without direction.

I also don't think we should be concentrating so much on the song. After all it was written by Britney Spears, not T.

This is my first (possible?) ARG. Do they all somewhat resemble William Gibson's Pattern Recognition?
