I received the same response, Trapped. My documents aren't legit, so we'll see if this filters me out. But I did take the time to invent a reasonable sounding business (Phil 'n' go Gas Stations), and fabricate some spiffy documents. I want a slusho machine, dammit!

I told them I had a cart outside of a homeless shelter and that I buy food and drinks of different kinds to give to them and that it wouldn't hurt to be charitable. I don't think it worked.

Seems like they're only answering to people that make a conscious effort to play along, either through real corporate documents or through fabricated ones. The flat out absurd ones are being tossed aside.

Frankly, I like that approach. Gives the atmosphere more substance.

They also tossed aside my letter, which was legit, but from a university. I think the problem may have been that I mentioned viral marketing (I tagged on a question about student internships).

Has anyone living outside of the continental USA (or not pretending to live in the USA) received a "send us your papers" e-mail ?

 Re: Tagruato Distribution Email
I got a response!

I think you should ask yourself why a "japanese" company is responding to you in english. As for the e-mails, keep those up. Dig as deep as possible. As for the phone number. Im here in japan as a foriegn exchange student and I got my host mom to translate YMR for me, and I'm calling the digging company tomorrow. Expect an update from me!

When I saw the distribution page on slusho.jp, something caught my eye. Near the contact information it says

"STOP WAITING
opportunities are for everyone
CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY!"

This appears to be a strong prompting from the PMs to for us to become more interactive. I decided to send them the following email:

Tagruato Corp:

I own a small cafe called Café de Feinte in a small town called Ridgecrest located in California. I am looking for a way to add some new energy to the place because the new paint job simply cannot do it alone. I would like to know the price of purchasing a Slusho! machine and bi-weekly costs for ingredients. I know the product is waiting for FDA approval, but there is no harm in asking. Of course, I must request a sample of the product before I buy. What would be the best way to try your product? Is there any way for it to be shipped overseas, or are there any American vendors already? Thank you so much for your time. I hope this will be a profitable and enjoyable experience on both ends.

Best Regards,
Stan Chirten

I used a fake name that sounded funny to me. Very Happy

I was really excited though, when I discovered I had the following response waiting for me in my inbox the morning after:
Quote:

Dear Mr. Chirten,

Thank you for your interest in becoming a distributor of Slusho! brand happy drink and joining the Tagruato family! We would be very excited to work with you in spreading the joy of Slusho! all over the world!

In light of a storm of false claims of business purpose, we have been forced to institute a verification policy. The first step is to forward documents of authenticity. We will need a copy of your articles of incorporation before proceeding with Slusho! distribution opportunity. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause you.

Sincerely,
Tzigane Koga, Customer Service
Office of Daiske Kagashima

"Exploring our world. Ensuring your future."

Has anyone else received a response like this? Anyone know enough business to tell me if their is any legal way to send them fake articles of incorporation? Maybe I should tell them that I'll send them my articles when they verify their FDA approval. Let's come up with some ideas!

I know its not really possible with the links and everything... but wouldn't it be funny if Tagruato Corp and Slusho were actually real life companies in Japan, with nothing at all to do with cloverfield?

Lol they would be all like "who the hell are all these randoms sending us all these job e-mails? Whatever we're doing, its working!" Razz "ever since that guy from the props department on that new movie decided to chuck one of their actors in one of our shirts, its been all good ever since. Alot of them have been fake though... so we've had to ask for documents of authenticity for the businesses. Tons of hits on our new site as well"

lol Very Happy

Again I know its not possible because, for example, the clues sent out with the slusho t's etc.... but just a funny thought I was pondering.

Speaking of which I really don't think we have paid enough attention to those clues that came with the shirts (the Japanese newspaper clippings?). They should have provided clues, not just lead to dead ends like they did; they basically gave us nothing, possibly because I don't think we spent enough time analyzing them. Maybe we should backtrack a bit? See if we've missed anything?
