I'm 100% confident that's two different girls also. Same as I was back in July, when the same argument was hashed out ad nauseam here and on IMDB and AICN, for that matter.

Again, it *may* not be Lizzie Caplan and Jessica Lucas, but it *is* Marlena Diamond and Lilly Ford.

And another simple explanation for the mascara: multiple takes. They do that in movies, y'know. Wink Could be that they just used one of the takes where Jessica Lucas was crying for the 1-18-08 stillshot, but used another take for the Transformers trailer.

It's as relevant to discuss this as is relevant to discuss anything else in the game. It's a clue, it's not certain, so we can discuss it. If you think you solved this one back in July, by all means, go and word your opinion in any of the other many topics on this forum. I don't really think is constructive to come in the middle of a topic to say "this is old"

Sure, all things point to say they're not the same girl. But who are them, when are them and where are them is still open to discussion.

Well said, and since I've been saying it's old a lot I'll let you know why.

There are plenty of other threads that could've been resurrected to continue this debate. If this familiar speculation had been posted in one of those threads, I don't think it would've elicited this much flaming. This isn't anything new, and didn't deserve or warrant a new thread.

However, I don't think I've implied or suggested it's been solved, but I have posted my opinion. I don't have to support my opinion, it's an opinion that I'm not pushing as fact. I don't believe it's the same girl, plain and simple.

You are most certainly welcome to that opinion.
I, however, disagree.
See, that's the good thing about opinions.
You don't have to agree with them Smile
Sometimes I don't even agree with myself Razz
That's why I don't talk to myself; half the time I already know what I'm gonna say, and the other half is guesswork and speculation. But it is certainly inappropriate for anyone to declare and dictate how everyone should feel about something or what everyone else is and is not permitted to talk about - or talk about AGAIN. That's just presumptuousness, and rude.

Mhovis said that he thinks everyone is just tired of speculating about a picture that was torn apart, reversed, inverted, etc back in July. Really? Where does someone get a concensus like that?If he is personally tired of the subject, might it not be wise to then avoid the subject and let those of us who are NOT tired of it continue on it our free speech? It is obvious that I certainly am not tired of the speculation, else I would not be commenting on it, and I think it shouldn't be presumed that everyone is at the same place with regards to the clues etc. I've been searching the net for weeks about stuff concerning this movie, and I read LOTS and LOTS of things, and yet I only found out last night about the rumored possibility of the movie being called "Overnight". So just because one person thinks they know everything there is to know about this movie doesn't necessarily mean that everyone else is there too. In fact, I usually go these treasure hunts by myself because there's always those arrogant know-it-alls out there who seriously get off on raining on everyone else's parade, and I don't like being part of that. I only came to this Board because it was the only one that seemed to really be keeping up on the movie debate. But in the end, this is not "just" about a movie; this is about the way we treat each other. Everyone should be respected for what they have to say no matter what the topic is. If anyone was tired of this subject, then why the heck read it, and why bother me with negative and disrespectful comments? If the stuff on a certain thread is not for you, then you use common sense and pass by it. There's tons of stuff on this board that I haven't the faintest interest in, but you don't see me going onto those threads to tell everyone to shut up or to express how tired I am of that subject.

(Moving on.....)

I do have to say I like the idea someone mentioned that even if the picture doesn't show the same face, the picture COULD still be a splicing of two different pictures, especially considering the lighting on the two faces which do not match (that isn't different skin colors, it's lighting).

Honestly, though, I didn't mean for this to turn into a flame war, so I'm very sorry that it turned out that way. I'm relatively new here and there are so many posts on this site there was no way for me to hunt the whole thing to see if it was discussed a long time ago. But even if it had been I would have liked to revive the subject in a different thread. I think there's merit to the spliced image theory. WHY they would have done that - I have no idea, just as i have no idea what any of the other stuff has to do with the movie, like Slusho and cheese, aside from those being former code words for the movie. I think that all of this clue-finding stuff is fun - even if it turns out to mean nothing at all. At least it's banded a lot of people together on a thrilling mission, and keeps us psyched for the movie. If the movie ends up not being as great as it's been hyped to be, that's ok, because actually it is we ourselves who are hyping it up. All Abrams did was keep his title and his monster secret, and create a couple viral sites. I thought it was genius to create MySpace profiles for his fictional characters, and I only wish more producers put that much effort into creating audience particiation. He should be commended, and certainly not trashed, as I so often hear people doing around the web by people with virtually no sense of imagination of fun. Nowadays the younger generation insists that everything be top of the line high tech for anything to be enjoyed, and that KILLS the spirit of everything. Sometimes - no, ALL the time - simplicity and imagination is superior to high tech. This movie looks exciting to me, not because of the special effects but because of the interesting theme. We need to remember that THE STORY LINE is the story and THE EFFECTS are not the story.

My mom once told me that when she was a kid and saw the original version of THE BLOB it scared the life out of her. But look how conditioned we have become today, that it takes more and more to thrill us. Pretty soon, if we don't start appreciating things as they are, we'll run out of ways to entertain.

and STILL you go on. doesn't anyone learn ANYTHING?! what is the matter with you people? are you on crack? are you mentally disabled? do you have a brain eating virus? did someone drop you on your head when you were a kid? or maybe you still are a kid, is that what the problem is here? is there some reason that nothing is getting through your head?

And I'd appreciate it if you'd show a little respect and stop using my God's name as a curse word. Then again it is obvious by everyone's attitude here that you never learned respect from your parents for anything.

I said THINKS...which is exactly what you are doing, presenting your thoughts. Just as you are entitled to post your thoughts. I in turn can theorize that folks are tired of the topic.

and by the way, Jesus Christ and God are two different people.

also, God is not exclusive to any one single person. you can't claim to have possession of him.

in closing, stop it or i'll bury you alive in a box.

The one thing I do like about this Board is that everyone demonstrates and confirms exactly what I said. I can't possibly imagine how you get by in this world, but I'm sure it is through the welfare department.

that's exactly it. you've hit the nail on the head. we barely scrape by and need the help of a welfare department to make ends meet. i guess everyone who either doesn't agree with you or just simply doesn't like you must be poor. all 1 billion+ people. i guess the easiest way to eliminate poverty would just be to remove you.

While I wait for the video to load....

You two calling names and flames. Back off. Go to your corners and think about what you did.

I know there's another thread for the picture discussion (actually I don't know since searching "marlena picture" "spliced picture" "1-18-08 picture girls" "lil marlena" and a couple of other did not worked to find it, but I trust you people) but when this topic started several people said "we already proved she's Marlena" and yet it was not true (That bit is not proven with certanty. It may be, but it may be not), and discussion about that has brought many interesting bits, like the timing of the trailer, the possibility of having multiple actors for a single character and even disproving the already crazy theory that there's a monster in the hair.

And about opinions... I think it was Gabe from Penny Arcade the one who said "If say pigs fly that's not an opinion, it's a prove that you're a moron". This:
Quote:
I think everyone is just tired of speculating about a picture that was torn apart, reversed, inverted, etc back in July.
Is not a valid opinion. Simply because me and others are discussing it, so not everyone is tired. Not an opinion, just a rude false statment.
